  • This study explores the effects of providing information on the price fairness perception and intention of continuous use in an online fashion platform, given a price difference due to AI algorithm pricing. We investigated the moderating roles of price inequality (loss vs. gain) and technology insecurity. The experiments used four stimuli based on price inequality (loss vs. gain) and information provision (provided or not) on price inequality. We developed a mock website and offered a scenario on the product presentation based on an AI algorithm pricing. Participants in their 20s and 30s were randomly allocated to one of the stimuli. To test the hypotheses, a total of 257 responses were analyzed using Process Macro 3.4. According to the results, price fairness perception mediated between information provision and continuous use intention when consumers saw the price inequality as a gain. When the consumers perceived high technology insecurity, information provision affected the intention of continuous use mediated by price fairness perception.

  • Purpose: To investigate the 5-year outcome of dental implants placed in a grafted maxillary sinus using recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 27 implants after maxillary sinus floor augmentation (MSFA) using rhBMP-2 in 16 patients between January 2016 and March 2017. The study evaluated two outcome variables: (1) 5-year cumulative survival and success rate of the implant after functional loading and (2) marginal bone loss (MBL) for implant failure. Results: The average residual bone height was 4.78±1.53 mm. The healing period before loading was 8.35±2.34 months. The crown-to-implant ratio was 1.31±0.26. The 5-year cumulative survival and success rate after functional loading were 100% and 96.3%, respectively. The 5-year average MLB was 0.89±0.82 mm. Conclusion: Placing dental implants with MSFA using rhBMP-2 is a reliable procedure with favorable long-term survival and success rates.

  • In contemporary modern society, people are constantly exposed to many kinds of noise, such as that from machinery, aircraft, construction sites, or road traffic. Noise is considered one of the most indispensable and influential parts of human life. This study investigates the acoustic characteristics of noise transfer from external sources to the human ear. For this study, we measured and analyzed various types of noise environments, installed monitoring speakers in a semi-anechoic room, and conducted intentional noise-filled experiments. In this environment, the size of the sounds generated by use of a portable device was also measured and the SNR (signal to noise ratio) calculated to study the influence of the noise. As sound is transmitted to the ear and the human body, it affects not only auditory damage but also other parts of the body. In this paper, we propose a proper SNR for noise emitted by portable IT equipment to prevent hearing loss when IT equipment is used.

  • This paper presents a Finite Element Method (FEM) application to thermal study of natural three layers of human dermal parts of varying properties. This paper carries out investigation of temperature distributions in these layers namely epidermis, dermis and under lying tissue layer. It is assumed that the outer skin is exposed to atmosphere and the loss of heat due to convection, radiation and evaporation of water have also been taken into account. The computations are carried out for one dimensional unsteady state case and the shape functions in dermal parts have been considered to be quadratic. A Finite Element scheme that uses the Crank-Nicolson method is used to solve the problem and the results computed have been exhibited graphically.

  • This study was conducted longitudinally following the total nitrogen , total lipid, and lactose concentrations and their factors on concentrations of energy-yielding nutrients in human milk from 2-5 days to 12 weeks postpartum of 45 lactating Korean mothers. All samples were from well-defined subjects. And uniform collection procedures were used . Total nitrogen concentration of milk decreased significantly from 385mg/이 at 2-5 days to 201mg/dl at 12 weeks postpartum. Total lipid concentration increased from 1.98g/dl at 2-5 days to 3.09g/dl at 12 weeks postpartum. However, there was a large variation in the concentration of total lipids. Lactose concentration increased signifciantly from 6.53g/dl at 2-5 days to 7.48g/dl at 12 weeks. Total nitrogen concentration in milk was positively related to pregnancy weight gains at 2 and 6 weeks postpartum. Total lipid concentration was positively related to infant birth weight : however, it was negatively related to the maternal weight loss. In addition, total lipid concentration was positively related to parity and maternal percentage body fat at 12 weeks postpartum. Milk lactose concentration was positively related to parity at 2 weeks postpartum.

  • Background and purpose : Health is characterized by variability and a loss variability is associated with aging and disease. Normal healthy respiratory patterns are characterized by breath to breath variability. Cold-Heat score are quantified indices in Korean Medicine. The aim of this study is to analyze relations between 9 respiratory indices (including breath to breath variability) and cold-heat score by questionnaire. Method : Respiratory data were measured during 15 minutes and transferred to text file. We calculated 9 respiratory parameters in use of MATLAB7.1. After then we did correlation analysis of 9 respiratory indices and cold-heat score Results and conclusion : EIratio is showed significant correlation with Cold score and weighted Heat score.

  • Propolis is a resinous material collected by honeybees from several plant sources. This research aimed at showing its protective effect against UVA-induced apoptosis of human keratinocyte HaCaT cells. Using Hoechst staining, it was demonstrated that propolis (5 and $10{\mu}g/mL$) significantly inhibited the apoptosis of HaCaT cells induced by UVA-irradiation. Propolis also showed the protective effect against loss of mitochondrial membrane potential induced by UVA-irradiaiton in HaCaT cells. Propolis also inhibited the expression of activated caspase-3 induced by UVA-irradiation. To investigate the role of ROS in UVA-induced apoptosis and protection by propolis, the generation of ROS was determined in cells. The results showed that the generation of ROS was markedly reduced in cells pretreated with propolis. Consequently, propolis protected human keratinocyte HaCaT cells against UVA-induced apoptosis, which might be related to the reduction of ROS generation by UVA-irradiation.

  • Vibrations exposured to human whole-body are transmitted through the contact area of a human body, such as feet, hip and back directly in contact with vibrating surface. they apparently leads to the decrease of human comfort, the reduction of working efficiency or normal activities, and, furthermore, causes the loss of health and safety. In this study, UH-1 vibration has been measured to produce the flight-time limitation at each mission Results of this study show that the most significant peaks appear at a main rotor blade-passage frequency and that the vibration level in ground is higher than that in airborne In addition, it is shown that the most affective aspect for the flight-time limitation is ground vibration level

  • The problem of system reliability is very important issue in the digitalized nuclear power plant, because the failure of its system brings about extravagant economic loss, environment destruction, and fatal damage of human. Therefore the purpose of this study has developed the reliability evaluation model through the scoring model by the quantitative and qualitative factors in order to justify the evaluation considering the advanced safety factors in the Advanced Pressurized water Reactor 1400MWe(APR 1400MWe) under uncertainty. Especially, the qualitative factors considering the human, information control, and quality factors for the systematic and rational justification have been closely analyzed. The proposed model can be simply applied in real fields in order to minimize the industrial accidents in the digitalized nuclear power plant.

  • It is well known that excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) leads to oxidative stress, loss of cell function, and ultimately apoptosis or necrosis. To search for natural antioxidants able to modulate cellular oxidative stress, we investigated the protective effect of ethanol extracts of 17 medicinal plants selected from the preliminary antioxidant screening on tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BuOOH)-induced oxidative stress in human keratinocytes. The result showed that extracts of the four plants, Distylium racemosum, Astilbe chinensis, Cercis chinensis and Sapium japonicum, exhibited significant cytoprotective activity (over 50% protection) against t-BuOOH-induced cellular injury.
