  • Humanoid and android robots are emerging as a trend shifts from industrial robot to personal robot. So human-robot interaction will increase. Ultimate objective of humanoid and android would be a robot like a human. In this aspect, implementation of robot's facial expression is necessary in making a human-like robot. This paper proposes a dynamic emotion model for a mascot-type robot to display similar facial and more recognizable expressions.

Effects of Festival Sevicescape and Human Services to Emotional Response and Behavioral Intention (축제의 서비스스케프와 인적서비스가 감정반응과 행동의도에 미치는 영향 -강경발효젓갈축제 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this research is to find out how festival servicescape and human service impact the participant's emotional response and behavioral intention in terms of participants as consumers. The servicescape of festival indicated 4 common factors, named cleanliness, convenience, suitability and attravtiveness. As a result of analysis, it indicated that cleanliness and convenience from among the servicescape of festival variables are positively on positive emotion, negatively on negative emotion. And it was analyzed that all the variables of human service influence significantly on emotional response. Especially, it showed that expertise of human service variables influence on positive emotion the most, influence significantly on negative emotion. The result of relationship on behavioral intention indicated that the convenience factor of festival servicescape and expertise factor of human service influence significantly. Therefore, to operate successful festival, festival organizer should plan and manage the festival based on factors which comprises festival servicescape and human service.

  • Fuzzy theory provides an intelligence treatment model for judgement about information when it needs a solution or a decision making about vague problems. Therefore, fuzzy theory is used for appropriate evaluation and decision on obscure information as human's emotion in human factors, In previous study, fuzzy membership function is defined for judgement infOlmation as human's emotion then ultimate results are deducted through fuzzy inference model. This method uses general CWTent through literature review or max, min and average as representative statics value about considering variables. But, this method makes away with nonlinear's or inegular's factors of human sensibility. Accordingly, application of this method leads to considerable loss of information in the ultimate evaluation. For that reason, this method has a limitation in objective evaluation of human factors. So, this study focuses on development of fuzzy membership function, which evaluates human's emotion or feeling accurately and objectively. We used the regression analysis and reasoned a fuzzy membership function about the relation of the variables. Then we verified the adequacy with the reliability through the experiment after this.

  • Human's sight holds the most extents for recognizing information among other senses. If we make much better visualized environment for human, it will become more beneficial in person's emotion or body. Human is using a lot of display units in modern society. Basic hues ate Red, Green and Blue. Using these three colors, we can change hue sense and degree of brightness of display unit. If we control hue of unit to be suitable according to individual environment, we can feel comfortable or reduce stress. In this paper, we present Human-Friendly Intelligent Hue Control System(HFIHCS) that control hue of display unit using fuzzified factors related to human's emotion and environment. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated by questionnaire.

Effect on Physiological Responses According to Different Arousals (각성의 유형이 생리반응에 미치는 영향)

  • Human arousal represents one of human emotion dimension. Its effort on human performance has been generally accepted at a invert-cup trend. h optimal range of human arousal enhances human performance However, definition of arousal is not Vet clear. Human arousal has different types depending on the causes. This paper observes different reponses based on different arousals such as cognitive arousal and physical arousal. Twenty undergraduate students participated and experienced cognitive and physical arousals. Their physiological response were analyzed and differentiated between cognitive and physical arousal. Finally, significant difference between them are not shown in autonomic responses but in central nervous responses.

Implementation of Human and Computer Interface for Detecting Human Emotion Using Neural Network (인간의 감정 인식을 위한 신경회로망 기반의 휴먼과 컴퓨터 인터페이스 구현)

  • In this paper, an interface between a human and a computer is presented. The human and computer interface(HCI) serves as another area of human and machine interfaces. Methods for the HCI we used are voice recognition and image recognition for detecting human's emotional feelings. The idea is that the computer can recognize the present emotional state of the human operator, and amuses him/her in various ways such as turning on musics, searching webs, and talking. For the image recognition process, the human face is captured, and eye and mouth are selected from the facial image for recognition. To train images of the mouth, we use the Hopfield Net. The results show 88%$\sim$92% recognition of the emotion. For the vocal recognition, neural network shows 80%$\sim$98% recognition of voice.

  • Nowadays human sensibility ergonomics is spotlighted as one of trends which we have pursued for improvement of humanity. Human sensibility ergonomics is a technique making human life more convenient by applying it to many kinds of products and design for environment by measuring and estimating human sensibility more qualitatively and quantitatively. The study of human sensibility can be discovered in oriental philosophy based on human being. Therefore there is an close relationship between human sensibility ergonomics and oriental philosophy. In this study, we research the sensibility factors of diagnostics by Sasang constitutional medicine, Five element properties and biorhythm by human sensibility ergonomics, and will apply the result of this study - the analyses of the difference among reaction time by using ANOVA after measuring the reaction time depending on one's individual temperament and condition- to job design.

Design of Hybrid Unsupervised-Supervised Classifier for Automatic Emotion Recognition (자동 감성 인식을 위한 비교사-교사 분류기의 복합 설계)

  • The emotion is deeply affected by human behavior and cognitive process, so it is important to do research about the emotion. However, the emotion is ambiguous to clarify because of different ways of life pattern depending on each individual characteristics. To solve this problem, we use not only physiological signal for objective analysis but also hybrid unsupervised-supervised learning classifier for automatic emotion detection. The hybrid emotion classifier is composed of K-means, genetic algorithm and support vector machine. We acquire four different kinds of physiological signal including electroencephalography(EEG), electrocardiography(ECG), galvanic skin response(GSR) and skin temperature(SKT) as well as we use 15 features extracted to be used for hybrid emotion classifier. As a result, hybrid emotion classifier(80.6%) shows better performance than SVM(31.3%).

  • It seems that most of the studies so far on emotion has focussed on the static view of the emotion. That is, they have mainly discussed about how to design the shape of the system in favor of human's inherant emotion. In this paper, the dynamic view of the :emotion based on the behaviors of the system is studied. We suggested a model(called PE model) for dealing emotion. The system based on PE model consists of potential modules each of which is autonomous, selfish and rational enough. The global goal of the system is obtained by allowing influential power among potential modules. We could show that a system in dynamic environment may have some type of its own emotion by using PE model.

  • This paper addresses the emotion computing model for software affective agents. In this paper, emotion is represented in valence-arousal-dominance dimensions instead of discrete categorical representation approach. Firstly, a novel emotion model architecture for affective agents is proposed based on Scherer's componential theories of human emotion, which is one of the well-known emotion models in psychological area. Then a fuzzy logic is applied to determine emotional statuses in the emotion model architecture, i.e., the first valence and arousal, the second valence and arousal, and dominance. The proposed methods are implemented and tested by applying them in a virtual training system for children's neurobehavioral disorders.
