Single-person household is estimated to be about 26.5% of the total household in 2015, which counts as 5060000 in numbers. We opt to acknowledge the various requests of these single residents, and in order to raise their satisfaction, we investigated on how personal taste, psychological interest, and personality attribute affects the user's preference of space organization and furniture in one room housing. Using the qualified psychology program, Enneagram Personality Type Indicator, we surveyed young people under 30 years old (majority of single-person households), regarding space organization and furniture preference. With the help of a specialist, the survey was constructed with appropriate evaluation items (space organization in one room households, bed, sofa, furniture material, etc), and analyzed the relationship between the evaluated items and personality types. Results showed there is a relationship between personality types and spatial structure. First, preference of spatial structure differed for different personality types. Second, the shape and size of furniture was dependent more on the ease of usability and design rather than on the personality types. One thing to consider is that type 1 and 9 accounted for about 50% of the total surveys. This emphasizes that the preferred spatial structure of a dominant specific personality type should not be overlooked.
In this study one aspect of consumer behavior in household equipment utilization was investigated the pattern, frequency, rate of washer use and their relation to the following factors a) Washer related factors : extent of the presence of desired characteristics, the evaluation of washer's intrinsic features and related household facilities. b) Psycho-social factors : attitude of energy conservation, preference & ability to wash by hand, standard of washing of the respondent homemaker. c) Socio-demographic factors : age, education level and employment status of homemaker, house-hold income, the presence of children under seven years, size of family, the presence of a paid help. The subjects of this study were 286 homemakers with washer in Seoul. Analysis methods were used to fuequency, one-way ANOVA, Gamma test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, t-test and multiple regression of SPSS program. The major findings are the following; 1) The pattern, frequency, rate of washe use appeared various in every household. 2) Extent of the presence of desired characteristics was very low and respondents evaluated their washer's intrinsic features moderate. 3) The pattern of washer use was affected by the evaluation of washer's intrinsic features, preference & ability to wash by hand, wife's employment and household income. The frequency of washer use was affected by family size and preference & ability to wash by hand. The rate of washer use was affected by extent of the presence of desired characteristics, the evaluation of washer's intrinsic features and preference & ability to wash by hand. Therefore, washing by hand is major substitute for washer. If more desired characteristics are added to washer, intrinsic features are improved, and maintenance costs are reduced or household income is raised, every houshold with washer will use washer more than washing by hand in washing ask so that it may gain more utility from washer.

This paper examined the impact of psychological characteristics of consumers on household debt decisions. With the use of the Heckit models (the traditional approach to the selection problem) this study undertook an empirical study of the influence of a wide range of factors on financial decisions. This study used U.S. household-level data that offers detailed information on household debt, expectations about future income, expectations about future economic conditions, the amount of financial risk the respondent was willing to take, and the amount of time allotted for planning family savings and spending. This study showed that respondents with both substantial financial risk tolerance and positive expectations about future income were likely to have larger household debt showing that researchers and policy-makers need to consider consumer sentiment and preference measures in modeling behavior in credit markets. Additional results showed that household debt is significantly related to two key economic variables: income and net worth.
This study was conducted to provide basic data for product development and marketing strategies for the Thai home meal replacement (HMR) market, to reflect the changing trends in household sizes in Thailand. The results of analyzing the characteristics and differences of HMR consumption behavior between single-person households and multi-person households in Thailand were as follows: It was found that single-person households use HMR to save money and for the convenience in cooking and preparation. In the preference by HMR type, multi-person households showed a higher preference for all types of products than single-person households. Thai consumers, regardless of their household size, mainly use department stores and large shopping malls to purchase HMR, and they most prefer to get information through Internet advertisements. The shelf life, quality, taste, hygiene, and freshness of HMR were the main considerations for their selection. Based on the results of this study, the Thai market requires the development of HMR products that are reasonable in terms of cost and preparation time. In addition, it is necessary to develop products that can satisfy consumer needs, such as nutritional enhancement and therapeutic foods, products that are organic, eco-friendly, cater to various menus, and address the premium segment.

A series of F-test was carried out to set up the age groups by food item. The main results can be summarized as follows; 1. Food consumption patterns are remarkably different between 0-13 years old age generation and over 40 years old generation. The 0-13 years old generation reveals higher preference for milk, wheat product, fruit and milk and lower preference for rice and vegetable than any other age generation. This characteristics of the childhood diet has been formed In the generation born after 1970's and thus will be reserved as their generational characteristics. On the other hand, over 40 years old age group prefers rice and fish to fruit, milk and wheat product. Therefore we can conclude that over 40 years old age group maintains the traditional Korean diet pattern. 2. The preference for fish is low. in 20-30 years old age group than in any other age group and wheat product is Preferred highest in 6-13 years old age group of all age groups. Meanwhile the most remarkable change In food consumption pattern is shown in meats and vegetables. Namely in 30 40 years old age group the preference for meat has increased substantially and that vegetable has decreased to a great extent. 3. The declining per capita consumption of rice spreads like a wave to higher age. groups, but over 40 years old age group bas played an important role in reducing the decreasing rate of rice consumption. In order to restrain the declining rice consumption a special integrated food policy is required to induce rice consumption in less 30 years old generation.
