고분자전해질 연료전지의 MEA 제조방법에 따른 성능비교 (The effect of MEA fabrication procedure on PEMFC performance)

  • The PEMFC behavior is quite complex and is influenced by several factors, including composition and structure of electrodes and membrane type. Fabrication of MFA is important factor for proton exchange membrane fuel cell. MFA of PEMFC with hot pressing and direct coating method were prepared, and performances were evaluated and compared each other. The effect of MEA preparation methods, hot pressing methods and direct coating methods, on the cell performance was analyzed by impedance spectroscopy and SEM. The performance of PEMFC wi th direct coat ing method was better than wi th hot pressing method because membrane internal resistance and membrane-:-interfacial resistance were reduced by elimination of hot pressing process in MEA fabrication. In addition the micro structure of MEA with direct coating method reveals uniform interface between membrane and catalyst layer.

  • 인산형 연료전지의 전극성능의 향상을 위해 Hot Pressing공정을 사용하여 Pt이 담지된 다공성 탄소전극(Pt/C)을 제조하였다. Hot pressing의 조건, 촉매층에서의 PTEE 함량을 변화시켜 제조한 Pt/C 전극의 전기화학적 산소환원특성 및 인산형 단위전지 성능특성을 비교하였다. 실험결과 Hot Pressing의 최적조건은 36$0^{\circ}C$, 10kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$이었다. 최대성능은 촉매층에 30wt%의 PTFE 함량을 가진 전극에서 얻어졌으며, 이때 백금의 이용율은 80%이었다. 단위전지의 성능측정 결과, hot pressing한 전극의 성능은 700㎷에서 200mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$이었으며 200시간동안 안정적인 성능이 유지되었다.

  • Near net shape forming of 316L stainless steel powder was investigated under hot isostatic pressing. To simulate densification and deformation of a powder compact in a container during hot isostatic pressing, the constitutive model of Abouaf and co-workers was implemented into a finite element analysis. An optimal design technique based on the design sensitivity was applied to the container design during hot isostatic pressing. The optimal shape of the container was predicted from the desired final shape of a powder compact by iterative calculations. Experimental data of 316L stainless steel powder showed that the optimally designed container allowed precise forming of the desired powder compact during hot isostatic pressing.

  • Aluminum alloy matrix composites reinforced with various amounts of $Al_2O_3$ short fibers have been produced by rheo-compocasting accompanied by hot pressing. When composites reinforced with fibers are produced by rheo-compocasting, S-L process is the most effective method for homogeneous dispersion of fibers. A sound composites with the improved orientation(3 dimension${\rightarrow}$2 dimension) of the fibers and increased volume fraction of them have been fabricated through the hot pressing of the casted composites. Fibers are broken down when rheo-compocasting, hot pressing, and $T_6$ treating. Among them fibers are broken down most heavily in the hot pressing. And even in the case of the composite reinforced with 30 vol% fibers, which showed the hardest fiber break down, aspect ratio(11.6) is higher than critical aspect ratio(10.7). The fiber strengthening effect in the composites has showed upto 573K. As the test temperature increases to the range of 573K, the effect has been higher. The fracture of composites is controlled by fiber from room temperature to 473K, but the fracture of composites is controlled by interface between fiber and matrix alloy above 473K.

Influence of Processing Conditions on PVDF Properties

  • Study of the main properties of PVDF films produced by two processing technologies such as hot pressing from a melt or solution casting was the aim of this paper. All samples were prepared of as-received PVDF powder. First group of samples was prepared by the hot pressing. Second group of samples was prepared by the solution casting method. PVDF powder was dissolved in dimethylformamide. To characterize properties of samples, different experimental methods such as FRA (dielectric spectroscopy), IR-spectroscopy and DSC/TGA analysis were used in this work. It was found that IR-spectra of both studied groups do not change compared to that for virgin PVDF powder. It confirms that molecular structure is practically independent on the processing technology of samples. The only difference has been found that new band centered at $1723\;cm^{-1}$ appears for samples prepared by the hot pressing method. This absorption band is related with formation of C=C bonds in samples prepared by the hot pressing method in contrast both to PVDF powder and samples prepared by the solution casting method.

고온 유리의 프레스 성형 공정 시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation for Pressing Process of Hot glass)

  • This paper addresses a method for numerical simulation in the pressing process of hot glass. Updated Lagrangian finite element formulations are employed for the flow and energy equations to accommodate moving meshes. The model is assumed axi-symmetric and creep flow is assumed due to the high viscosity. Commercial software ANSYS is used to solve the coupled flow and energy equations. Moving contact points as well as free surface during the pressing are effectively calculated and updated by utilizing API functions of CAD software Unigraphics. The mesh distortion problem near the wall is overcome by automatic remeshing, and the temperatures of the new mesh are conveniently interpolated by using a unique function of ANSYS. The developed model is applied to the pressing process of TV glasses. In conclusion, the presented method shows that the pressing process accompanying moving boundary can be simulated by effectively combining general purpose software without resorting to special dedicated codes.

파티클보드의 밀도경사와 흡음성 개선을 위한 열압기술 (Hot Pressing Technology for Improvement of Density Profile and Sound Absorption Capability of Particleboard)

  • 파티클보드의 두께방향으로 밀도경사와 흡음성 개선을 위한 새로운 열압방식개발을 위하여 본 과제를 수행하였다. 적용한 열압방식으로는 기존의 평판가열식 열압방식(A-type pressing), 성형장치내 열압방식(B-type pressing), 그리고 성형장치내 요철카울을 설치한 열압방식(C-type pressing)을 적용하였다. 원료목질은 낙엽송 세이빙을 사용하였으며, 접착제로는 수용성 페놀-포름알데하이드 접착제를 사용하였다. 흡음성 개선을 위한 보드는 열압시 요철카울에 의하여 보드 이면에 계단형 공극을 생성하였다. 열압방식별 제조된 보드의 물리적 및 기계적 성질을 측정하였는 바, 성형장치내 열압을 함으로써 강도적 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 보드의 두께방향 밀도경사 역시 평균밀도에 대한 최소밀도의 비율이 90% 이상을 나타내어 기존의 평판가열식으로 제조한 보드 보다 크게 개선시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 열압시 요철카울에 의하여 천공을 해 줌으로써 파티클보드의 흡음계수를 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타남으로써 향후 저밀도 후판보드 제조가능성과 흡음재 등 새로운 건축내장재료로의 사용가능성을 확인하였다.

Preparation of a Li7La3Zr1.5Nb0.5O12 Garnet Solid Electrolyte Ceramic by using Sol-gel Powder Synthesis and Hot Pressing and Its Characterization

  • In this study, we prepared and characterized Nb-doped $Li_7La_3Zr_{2-x}O_{12}$ (LLZNO) powder and pellets with a cubic garnet structure by using a modified sol-gel synthesis and hot pressing. LLZNO powder with a very small grain size and cubic structure without secondary phases could be obtained by using a synthesis method in which Li and La sources in a propanol solvent were mixed together with Zr and Nb sources in 2-methoxy ethanol. A pure cubic phase LLZNO pellet could be fabricated from the prepared LLZNO and an additional 6-wt% of $Li_2CO_3$ powder by hot pressing at $1050^{\circ}C$ and 15.8 MPa. The hot-pressed LLZNO pellet with a relative density of 99% exhibited a very dense surface morphology. The total Li ionic conductivity of the hot-pressed LLZNO was $7.4{\times}10^{-4}S/cm$ at room temperature, which is very high level compared to other reported values. The activation energy for ionic conduction was estimated to be 0.40 eV.

파티클보드의 열압으로부터 포름알데히드 배출량 조사 (Examination of Formaldehyde Emissions from the Hot-Pressing of Particleboard)

  • 포름알데히드와 요소의 몰비가 다른 2종류의 요소수지 접착제를 이용하여 접착제 첨가량과 열압시간 등 여러 조건에서 실험실 파티클보드를 열압하는 동안 배출되는 가스를 중류수에 용해 포집하고, 이렇게 얻어진 용액으로부터 포름알데히드 배출량을 미국 National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) 3500의 방법에 의해 분석 비교하였다. 평가된 결과는 파티클보드를 열압하는 동안 배출되는 가스 중에서 포름알데히드량은 요소수지의 종류, 접착제 첨가량과 열압시간에 의해서 영향을 받는다는 것을 보여준다.
