  • The paucity of pilot signals in Massive MIMO system is a vital issue. To accommodate substantial number of users, pilot signals are reused. This leads to interference, resulting in pilot contamination and degrades channel estimation at the Base Station (BS). Hence, mitigation of pilot contamination is exigency in Massive MIMO system. The proposed Time Shifted Pilot Signal Transmission with Pilot signal Hopping (TSPTPH), addresses the pilot contamination issue by transmitting pilot signals in non-overlapping time interval with hopping of pilot signals in each transmission slot. Hopping is carried by switching user to new a pilot signal in each transmission slot, resulting in random change of interfering users. This contributes to the change in channel coefficient, which leads to improved channel estimation at the BS and therefore enhances the efficiency of Massive MIMO system. In this system, Uplink Signal Power to Interference plus Noise Power Ratio (SINR) and data-rate are calculated for pilot signal reuse factor 1 and 3, by estimating the channel with Least Square estimation. The proposed system also reduces the uplink Signal power for data transmission of each User Equipment for normalized spectral efficiency with rising number of antennas at the BS and thus improves battery life.

  • It is known that the detection of hopping signals without any information about hopping duration and hopping frequency is rather difficult. This paper considers the blind detection of hopping signal's information such as hopping duration and hopping frequency from the sampled wideband signals. In order to find hopping information from the wideband signals, multiple narrow-band filters are required in general, which leads to huge implementation complexity. Instead, this paper employs the polyphase DFT(discrete Fourier transform) filterbank to reduce the implementation complexity. This paper propose hopping signal detection algorithm from the polyphase DFT filterbank output. Specifically, based on the binary image processing, the proposed algorithm is developed to decrease the memory size and H/W complexity. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated through the computer simulation and FPGA (field programmable gate array) implementation.

  • In this paper, a secure multilevel quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) scheme is proposed for the physical layer security (PLS) of the wireless communications. In the proposed scheme, each transmitted symbol's signal constellation (SC) is hopping with the control of two unique factors: amplitude distortion (AD) factor and phase hopping (PH) factor. With unknown the two factors, the eavesdropper cannot extract effective information from the received signal. We first introduce a security metric, referred to as secrecy gain, and drive a lower bound on the gain that the secrecy capacity can be improved. Then, we investigate the relationship among the secrecy gain, the signal to noise power ratios (SNRs) of the main and wiretap channels, and the secrecy capacity. Next, we analyze the security of the proposed scheme, and the results indicate that the secrecy capacity is improved by our scheme. Specifically, a positive secrecy capacity is always obtained, whether the quality of the main channel is better than that of the wiretap channel or not. Finally, the numerical results are provided to prove the analytical work, which further suggests the security of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, a method for generating ranging signal to reduce the effects of interference and overcome intentional jamming is proposed in slow frequency hopping(SFH) communication system. A terminal uses ranging signal for initial Up-link synchronization in the frequency hopping communication systems using multi-terminal. However, ranging signal generated by unsynchronized terminal acts as an interference signal to another terminal. Therefore, we propose the design of the ranging signal with PN sequence in order to minimize the affection to the other terminal and simulated its performance. From the simulated result, we confirm synchronization performance.

  • A frequency hopping(FH) signal can change its carrier frequency during transmission and has spread-spectrum characteristics in these frequency bands. Therefore, FH signals are widely used in applications that require low-probability-of-intercept(LPI) and anti-jamming (AJ) abilities in wireless communication environments. In this study, the authors propose a method for generating hopping information (HI), which includes start time, dwell time, and hopping frequency for unknown FH signals. The proposed blind HI generation method produces signal detection information based on the spectrum data and then extracts HI using operational procedures for estimating the target FH signal's status, such as appearance, maintenance, and termination. Further, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method provides accurate HI without detection omissions for various FH signals.

  • The frequency-hopping technique is one of the spread-spectrum techniques. Frequency hopping is a communication system in which the carrier frequency channel is hopped within the wideband. Therefore, a frequency-hopping system has such advantages as antijamming and low probability of intercept. This system is often used in military communications. Because frequency-hopping signal detection is difficult, it is an important research issue. A novel detection technique is proposed that can improve detection probability. When the received signal is transformed to a frequency domain sample by fast Fourier transform, spectral leakage lowers the detection probability. This problem can be solved by using the Hamming window, and the detection probability can be increased. However, in a frequency-hopping environment, the windowing technique lowers the detection probability. The proposed method solves this weakness. The simulation results show that the proposed detection technique improves the detection probability by as much as 13 %.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of three different types of preparatory movement(squat, countermovement and hopping) in sideward responsive propulsion movement. 7 healthy subjects performed left and right side movement task by external output signal. 3D kinematics were analyzed The results were followed First, performance time in the countermovement and hopping conditions was shorter(10-20%) than that in the squat condition. The hopping condition that is more related to pre-stretch showed excellent performance. Second, time difference between after turned on the external signal and until take off was the primary factor in performance results among movement conditions. The preparatory phase before the propulsive phase in the squat condition produced more time than that in other conditions. The hopping condition showed the most short time in both the preparatory and the propulsive phase, therefore it was advantage for performance result Third, significant difference was not found in take-off velocity among movement conditions although there was difference of the time required in the propulsive phase. The maximum acceleration in the propulsive phase was larger in order of the hopping. countermovement, and squat condition. The countermovement and hopping conditions showed high take-off velocity although the propulsive phase in those conditions was shorter than that in squat condition. The pre-stretch by preparatory countermovement was considered as the positive factor of producing power in concentric contraction. Fourth, the hopping condition produced large angular velocity of joints. In hopping condition, large amount of moment for rotation movement was revealed in relatively short time and it was considered to cause powerful joint movements. In conclusion, the hopping movement using countermovement is advantage of responsive propulsion movement. It is resulted from short duration until take off and large amount of joint moment and joint power in concentric contraction by pre-stretch.

  • In this paper, we studied a technique of extracting a Frequency Hopping(FH) signal for analysis using high-speed parallel processing structure. Unlike fixed frequency signal, FH signal is difficult to detect and analyze because FH systems use many random frequencies instead of a single carrier frequency. To solve this problem we designed a method that analyze FH signal using high-speed parallel processing. In order to apply parallel processing, we use CUDA using GPU and compare single processing with prarallel processing. As a result, using CUDA on a GPU is about 8.53 times faster than single processing.

  • When a 160QAM receiver in the band of spread spectrum system is interfered with a pseudo-random frequency-hopp-ing signal the interference signal has the form of the pulse amplitude probability density function. Each interfrering pulse amplitude probability density function Each interfering pulse amplitude is dependent upon theprobability density function of hopping frequency and the selectivity characteristic of 16QAM system in this paper the error rate equation of a system performance has been derived in the above condition which are interfrerence form and impulsive noise environmensts. The results of system analysis show us that the system performance is de-graded by impulsive noise and interference power, which improved as the frequency hopping bandsidth increases whit respect to receiver bandwidth
