  • In this paper, we study a delayed predator-prey system with Holling type IV functional response incorporating the effect of habitat complexity. The results show that there exist stability switches and Hopf bifurcation occurs while the delay crosses a set of critical values. The explicit formulas which determine the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are obtained by the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem.

  • There have been many experimental and observational evidences which indicate the predator response to prey density needs not always monotone increasing as in the classical predator-prey models in population dynamics. Holling type functional response depicts situations in which sufficiently large number of the prey species increases their ability to defend or disguise themselves from the predator. In this paper we investigated the stability and instability property for a Holling type predator-prey system of a generalized form. Hopf type bifurcation properties of the non-diffusive system and the diffusion effects on instability and bifurcation values are studied.

  • A hopf bifurcation of a free boundary (or an internal layer) occurs in solidification, chemical reactions and combustion. It is a well-known fact that a free boundary usually appear as sharp transitions with narrow width between two materials ([2]).

  • We consider a bistable attraction-repulsion chemotaxis system in one dimension. The study in this paper asserts that conditions for chemotactic coefficients for attraction and repulsion to show existence of stationary solutions and Hopf bifurcation in the interfacial problem as the bifurcation parameters vary are obtained analytically.

  • A free boundary problem is derived from a singular limit system of a reaction diffusion equation whose reaction terms are bistable type. In this paper, we shall consider a free boundary problem with two layers satisfying the zero flux boundary condition and shall show that the Hopf bifurcation can not occur as a parameter varies.

  • In this paper, a three-dimensional eco-epidemiological model with delay is considered. The stability of the two equilibria, the existence of Hopf bifurcation and the permanence are investigated. It is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay ${\tau}$ passes though a sequence of critical values. The estimation of the length of delay to preserve stability has also been calculated. Numerical simulation with a hypothetical set of data has been done to support the analytical findings.

  • In this paper, a 3D autonomous system, which has only stable or non-hyperbolic equilibria but still generates chaos, is presented. This system is topologically non-equivalent to the original Lorenz system and all Lorenz-type systems. This motivates us to further study some of its dynamical behaviors, such as the local stability of equilibrium points, the Lyapunov exponent, the dissipativity, the chaotic waveform in time domain, the continuous frequency spectrum, the Poincar$\acute{e}$ map and the forming mechanism for compound structure of its special cases. Especially, with the help of the Project Method, its Hopf bifurcation of codimension one is in detailed formulated. Numerical simulation results not only examine the corresponding theoretical analytical results, but also show that this system possesses abundant and complex dynamical properties not solved theoretically, which need further attention.

  • We consider a delayed predator prey model. The local stability and Hopf bifurcation results are stated taking the time delay as a control parameter. We apply multiple scale analysis to analyze the effects of additive white noises near the Hopf bifurcation point at the positive interior equilibrium state. The governing equations for the amplitude of oscillations on a slow time scale are derived. We identify the process of amplitude of oscillations and derive its transient properties. We show that oscillations, which would decay in the deterministic system whenever time delay lies below its critical value, persists for long time under the validity of multiple scale analysis.
