The purpose of this research is to analyze the narratives of elementary school history textbooks of Korea and US. The research problems are as follows. Firstly, what are the form and content of narratives of Korea's elementary school history textbook of Korea and US. Secondly, what are the characteristics of narratives of American elementary school history textbook of Korea and US. The content analysis method was utilized for analyzing narratives of textbooks. Research results are summarized as follows. Firstly, the features of Korea's elementary school history textbook are described. Secondly, the features of American elementary school history textbook are described. Thirdly, the common features and differences between both countries' textbook narratives are analyzed. Lastly, the implications for diversifying the narratives of Korea's elementary school history textbook are recommended.

This article examines the image of the nation of the Union of Myanmar (Burma) by comparing the history textbook and the civic textbook prescribed in state schools during the period of independence from 1948 to 1958. After the Second World War, the political conditions gave the way for the formation of the Union of Myanmar composed of ethnic nationals in Myanmar. To shape the national identity, the newly-founded independent nation in 1948, introduced textbooks in history and civics for the purpose of nation building. The paper concludes that the history textbook illustrated the golden ages of the Myanmar kingdom by way of national consolidation and portrayed ethnic nationals as homogenous; on the other hand, the civic textbook defined a citizen as one who is born and raised in Myanmar; it also included migrant Asians such as Chinese and South Asians in the fold. The history textbook aspired for the national consolidation of ethnic nationals for the strength and prosperity of the country while the civic textbook required cooperation from both ethnic nationals and migrant Asians for peace and development of the country and the world.

Uihakyimmun (醫學入門) was written around 1580 by Li Ting (李梴) during the Ming Dynasty of China. Later, during the mid-Joseon period, Uihakyimmun (醫學入門) was introduced to Joseon and is believed to have contributed to the development of Joseon medicine. The importance of this Uihakyimmun (醫學入門) was especially evident as it was designated as a textbook for medical examination in the late Joseon Dynasty. This paper examines the process of Uihakyimmun (醫學入門) being introduced into Joseon based on historical records. It also considered the reason why Medical Education was selected as the textbook for the medical examination instead of Donguibogam (東醫寶鑑). As a result, it was widely read by court doctors before being selected as a test textbook, and gradually became a formal textbook after being used in informal tests. In addition, it was revealed through historical records that the reason why Uihakyimmun (醫學入門) was chosen instead of Donguibogam (東醫寶鑑) was because Uihakyimmun (醫學入門) fit better with Confucian values.

과학사는 과학 수업에서 여러 가지 목표를 달성하기 위한 유용한 수단으로 간주되어 왔다. 이 연구의 목적은 과학 교과서에 사용된 과학사 자료를 효과적으로 분석하기 위한 삼원 분석틀을 개발하고, 이 분석틀을 적용하여 제7차 교육과정의 지구과학사 자료를 분석하는 것이다. 개발된 분석틀은 수업맥락, 역할, 제시유형의 3개 차원으로 구성되며, 각각의 차원은 다시 몇 개의 하부 영역으로 세분된다. 개발된 분석틀을 이용하여 과학 교과서의 지구과학사 자료들을 분석한 결과, 분석틀의 세 가지 차원과 각각의 영역에 부합되는 과학사 자료가 과학 교과서에 다양하게 포함되지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 삼원 분석틀의 활용을 통한 다양한 수업맥락과 목적의 조합으로 과학사교수-학습 자료의 개발을 제안하였다.

수학사탐구형 스토리텔링 교과서는 수학의 발달 과정에서 드러나는 발견의 논리를 교과서의 구성 원리와 내용 전개에 적용하는 것을 핵심으로 한다. 지식이 만들어져 가는 과정에 학생들이 흥미롭게 접근하도록 하여 수학이 인간의 필요에 의해 만들어진 지식이며, 인간의 창의적 사고로 인해 만들어지는 지식임을 인식하도록 할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 학습 내용 이면에 숨어있는 수학적 통찰과 논리를 이해할 수 있게 하고 그것을 활용하여 새로운 수학적 지식을 만들어갈 수 있는 맥락을 제공할 수 있다. 본 연구는 수학사탐구형으로 개발된 '복소수와 이차방정식'단원의 개발 절차와 사례를 통해 스토리텔링 수학교과서의 가능성을 확인하고, 현장적용 가능성을 탐색하며 앞으로의 스토리텔링 교과서 개발에 있어 함의점을 제공한다.

We research the origin of noun-following noun, Hal-Pun-Li which describes rate and clear up the difference between Hal-Pun-Li and numeric nouns which express decimal fractions. Next, we point out the mistakes of encyclopedia of mathematics, the Korean dictionary and the textbook of mathematics in the primary school, related to the difference. And then we detect the problems of the contents in the textbook which cause them. Finally we think of the improvements of the textbook.

Lobachevskii와 Hadamard는 유럽에서 Euclid의 '원론'에 의한 기하교육으로부터 새로운 형태의 기하교육으로의 전환하는 시기에 기하학 교재를 저술하였다. 본 연구에서는 Lobachevskii의 '기하학'과 Hadamard의 '초등기하학'에서 다루고 있는 삼각형의 합동에 대한 정리들을 조사하고, 이들의 증명 방법들을 분석하며, 직각삼각형의 합동조건의 증명 방법을 우리나라의 수학교과서에 제시된 증명 방법들과 비교하였다.

The 2007 revised social studies curriculum emphasizes history education in particular. Thus the contents of the history section previously scattered through 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades are now integrated into the first and second semesters of the 5th grade in elementary social studies. Therefore, this research intend to gain insights that could be used as a reference when making next social textbooks by analyzing social textbooks of the 7th and the 2007 revised curriculum. The conclusions of comparative analysis on social textbooks of the 7th and the 2007 revised curriculum are as follows: The textbook units according to the 2007 revised curriculum were a reorganization of the contents from the 7th's 6th grade 1st semester contents per unit in a chronological flow. Meanwhile, the topic was introduced to supplement historic contents afresh. The 2007 revised curriculum focused on the life history, cultural history, personal history.

일제강점기에 네 차례에 걸친 조선교육령 개정과정에서 편찬된 산술과의 교수요지, 교육내용 및 소재를 분석함으로써 당시 수학교육의 양상을 논하고 그 시대에 실행된 초등수학교육 내용과 그 시대 사회적, 문화적 시대상을 현재적 관점으로 분석, 유추해 보고자 한다.
