In this paper, the effects of different 3D printing parameters including laminated angle and annealing temperature, were observed for their effects on tensile testing. In 3D printing, a filament is heated quickly, extruded, and then cooled rapidly. Because plastic is a poor heat conductor, it heats and cools unevenly causing the rapid heating and cooling to create internal stress within the printed part. Therefore, internal stress can be removed using annealing and to increase tensile strength and strain. During air cooling at annealing temperature $140^{\circ}C$, the strain of laminated angle $45^{\circ}$ specimens tended to increase by 46% while the tensile stress tended to increase by 7.4%. During oven cooling at annealing temperature $140^{\circ}C$, the strain of laminated angle $45^{\circ}$ specimens tended to increase by 34% while the tensile stress tended to increase by 22.2%. In this study, we found "3D printing with annealing" eliminates internal stress and increases the strength and stiffness of a printed piece. On the microstructural level, annealing reforms the crystalline structures to even out the areas of high and low stress, which created fewer weak areas. These results are very useful for making 3D printed products with a mechanical strength that is suitable for applications.

The performance of concrete structure decreases with change in time and the external environment. In order to reinforce the structure, the research about new material development and application of newly developed materials are widely conducted. In the case of composite FRP, it received good attention in the academia due to its high intensity-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistency as well as good workability. When applying at the construction field, however, the utilization of FRP did not increase as much due to lack of reliability and design standard. Current study investigated the material characteristics during the temperature change at high temperature and the structural behavior from restraint effect for GFRP reinforcing materials. Two experimental variables were set in this study: GFRP reinforcements due to tensile properties of temperature and restraint compression effects. Three concrete specimen were selected for each set temperatures. For this reason, as a variable to experiment with the effects confined compression concrete members value and tensile properties with temperature reinforcement GFRP, experiment produced three pieces each for each set temperature, the concrete specimen, which is confined in the GFRP was selected each I did. For the temperature change during the experiment, the concrete specimen were mounted in order to expose to experimental high temperature for certain period of time. For compression performance evaluation, reinforcement effect from horizontal constraint of the fiber were measured using an Universal Material Testing Machine (UTM). Finally, this study revealed that the binding characteristics of GFRP materials from temperature change decreased. Also, this study showed that the maximum compression intensity decreased as the temperature increased up to $150^{\circ}C$ in the constraints ability of the GFRP reinforcements during the horizontal constraint of concrete.
Aerospace structural applications, along with high performance marine and automotive applications, require high-strength efficiency, which can be achieved using metal matrix composites (MMCs). Rotating components, such as jet-engine blades and gas turbine parts, require materials that maximize strength efficiency and metallurgical stability at elevated temperatures. Titanium matrix composites (TMCs) are well suited in such applications, since they offer an enhanced resistance to temperature effects as well as corrosion resistance, in addition to optimum strength efficiency. The overall behavior of the composite system largly depends on the properties of the interface between fiber and matrix. Characterization of the fiber.matrix interface at operating temperatures is therefore essential for the developemt of these materials. The fiber fragmentation test shows good reproducibility of results in determining interface properties. This paper deals with the evaluation of fiber fragmentation characteristics in TMCs at elevated temperature and the results are compared with tests at ambient temperature. It was observed that tensile testing at $650^{\circ}C$ of single-fiber TMCs led to limited fiber fragmentation behavior. This indicates that the load transfer from the matrix to the fiber occurs due to interfacial friction, arising predominantly from mechanical clamping of the fiber by radial compressive residual and Poisson stresses. The present work also demonstrates that composite processing conditions can significantly affect the nature of the fiber.matrix interface and the resulting fragmentation of the fiber.

Evaluating service lives of rubber materials at certain temperatures requires a destructive method (typically using elongation at break). In this study, a non-destructive method based on hardness change rate was proposed for evaluating the service life of chloroprene rubber (CR). Compared to the destructive method, this non-destructive method ensures homogeneity of CR specimens and requires a small number of samples. Thermal accelerated degradation test was conducted on the CR specimens at 55, 70, 85, 100, and 125℃, and the tensile strength, elongation at break, and hardness were measured. The results of the experiment were compared to those of the accelerated life evaluation method proposed in this study. Comparing the analyzed lives in the high temperature region (70, 85, 100, and 125℃), the difference between the service lives for the destructive method (using the elongation at break) and non-destructive method (using the hardness) was approximately 0.1 year. Therefore, it was confirmed that the proposed non-destructive evaluation method based on hardness changes can evaluate the actual life of CR under thermally accelerated degradation conditions.
The proper selection of materials for the intended use of the structural member is of particular interest. The paper deals with determining both the mechanical properties at different temperatures and the behavior in tensile creep as well as fatigue testing of tensile stressed specimens made of low alloy 42CrMo4 steel delivered as annealed and cold drawn. This steel is usually used in engineering practice in design of statically and dynamically stressed components. Displayed engineering stress - strain diagrams indicate the mechanical properties, creep curves indicate the material creep behavior while experimental investigations of fatigue may ensure the fatigue limit determination for considered stress ratio. Also, hardness testing provides an insight into material resistance to plastic deformation. Experimentally obtained results regarding material properties were: tensile strength (735 MPa / $20^{\circ}C$, 105 MPa / $680^{\circ}C$), yield strength (593 MPa / $20^{\circ}C$, 76 MPa / $680^{\circ}C$). Fatigue limit in the amount of 532.26 MPa, as maximum stress at stress ratio R = 0.25 at ambient temperature was calculated on the basis of experimentally obtained results. Regarding the creep resistance it is visible that this steel can be treated as creep resistant at high temperatures (including $580^{\circ}C$) when applied stress is of low level (till 0.2 of yield stress).
The high strength low alloy(HSLA) steels microalloyed with Nb, Ti and V have been widely used as the automobile parts to decrease weight of vehicles. The effects of process conditions are investigated in the aspects of the precipitation behavior and the mechanical properties of HSLA steel microalloyed with Nb and Ti using TEM, SANS and mechanical testing. When Ti was added to a 0.07C-1.7Mn steel which was coiled at $500^{\circ}C$, the specimen revealed the property of higher tensile strength of 853.1 MPa and the stretch-flangeability of 60%. The stretch-flangeability was increased up to 97.8% for coiling temperature above $700^{\circ}C$. The precipitation hardening cannot be achieved in the 0.045C-1.65Mn steel which was the lower density of fine precipitates. However, the 0.07C-1.7Mn steels containing Nb and/or Ti which was coiled at X$/^{\circ}C$ have a high precipitates density of $2${\times}$10^{ 5}$/$\mu$㎥. The high strength of these steels was attributed to the precipitation hardening caused by a large volume froction of (Ti, Nb)C precipitates with a size below 5 nm in ferrite matrix.

Waterproof layers are installed in civil engineering structures and bridge construction is commonly finished by applying a layer of regular or asphalt concrete above the waterproof layer. However, asphalt materials are susceptible to melting at high temperature due to its superior temperature sensitivity, and this causes the waterproofing material to melt due to the high temperature of the asphalt concrete, thereby increasing the defect occurrence rate due to the thickness reduction. In this study, tensile strength and elongation of hard and soft type of MMA(Methyl Methacrylate) applied to bridges were compared in accordance to standard performance criteria based on different mixture ratios. Results of comparative testing showed that hard MMA resin can display a satisfactory tensile strength, and soft MMA resin displays satisfactory elongation properties, but as the two resin types are separately used, neither types are able to satisfy the standard requirements outlined in KS F 4932. When the amount of the powder exceeds 56.25% of the total amount, voids are generated on the surface after curing and self leveling was impossible and a heterogeneous surface is formed. Furthermore, when the hard resin: soft resin: powder mixture ratio was set to 15g: 85g: 150g. the tensile strength was $1.5N/mm^2$ and the elongation percentage was 133% which satisfy the tensile performance of KS F 4932.
In order to produce good wear resistance powder metallurgy Al-Si alloys with high strength, addition of glass forming elements of Ni and Ce in $Al_{81}$Si$_{19}$ alloy was examined using SEM, TEM, tensile strength and wear testing. The solubility of Si in aluminum increased with increasing Ni and Ce contents for rapidly solidified powders. These bulk alloys consist of a mixed structure in which fine Si particles with a particle size below 500 nm and very fine A1$_3$Ni, A1$_3$Ce compounds with a particle size below 200 nm are homogeneously dispersed in aluminum matrix with a grain size below 600 nm. The tensile strength at room temperature for $Al_{81}$Si$_{19}$, $Al_{78}$Si$_{19}$Ni$_2$Ce$_{0.5}$, and $Al_{76}$Si$_{19}$Ni$_4$Ce$_1$ bulk alloys extruded at 674 K and ratio of 10 : 1 is 281,521, and 668 ㎫ respectively. Especially, $Al_{73}$Si$_{19}$Ni$_{7}$Ce$_1$ bulk alloy had a high tensile strength of 730 ㎫. These bulk alloys are good wear-resistance bel ter than commercial I/M 390-T6. Specially, attactability for counterpart is very little, about 15 times less than that of the I/M 390-T6. The structural refinement by adding glass forming elements such as Ni and Ce to hyper eutectic $Al_{81}$Si$_{19}$ alloy is concluded to be effective as a structural modification method.d.tion method.
The purpose of this study is to develop silicon carbide fiber showing an excellent mechanical properties under highly oxidative conditions at high temperature. Polycarbosilane(PCS) as a preceramic precursor was used for making the SiC fiber. PCS fiber was taken by melt spinning method followed by melting the PCS at $300{\sim}350^{\circ}C$ in N2 gas. The Curing of PCS fiber was carried out in air oxygen chamber, prior to high temperature pyrolysis. Degree of cure was calculated by characteristic peak's ratio of Si-H to $Si-CH_3$ in FT-IR spectra before and after curing of PCS fiber. The properties of SiC fiber was affected greatly by the degree of cure. The SiC fiber produced by controlling fiber tension during heat treatment showed good properties. The SiC fiber exposed to $1000^{\circ}C$ at air from 1 min. up to maximum 50 hrs showed around 60% reduction in tensile strength. We found that large amount of carbon content on the fiber surface after long-term exposure has resulted in lower tensile strength.

Inorganic basalt fiber (BF) is a novel sort of commercial concrete fiber which is made with basalt rocks. Previous studies have not sufficiently handled the behavior of self-compacted concrete, at elevated temperature, containing basalt fiber. Present endeavor covers experimental work to examine the characteristics of this material at high temperature considering different fiber content and applied temperature. Different tests were carried out to measure the mechanical properties such as compressive strength (fc), modulus of elasticity (E), Poisson's ratio, splitting tensile strength (fsplit), flexural strength (fflex), and slant shear strength (fslant) of HSC and hybrid concrete. Gene expression programming (GEP) was employed to propose new constitutive relationships depending on experimental data. It was noticed from the testing records that there is no remarkable effect of BF on the Poisson's ratio and modulus of elasticity of self-compacted concrete. The flexural strength of basalt fiber self-compacted concrete was not sensitive to temperature in comparison to other mechanical properties of concrete. Fiber volume fraction of 0.25% was found to be the optimum to some extend according to degradation of strength. The proposed GEP models were in good matching with the experimental results.
