본 연구는 간호대학생의 자기효능감, 사회적 지지, 정신건강의 정도를 알아보고 자기효능감과 사회적 지지가 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 파악한 연구이다. 연구대상자는 B시, C시의 3년제 과정에 있는 간호대학생을 186명을 대상으로 하였고, 자료분석은 SPSS WIN/18.0을 이용하여 평균과 표준편차, t-검정, 일원분산분석, 피어슨 상관계수, 다중회분귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과 간호대학생의 정신건강은 $2.25{\pm}0.65$점으로 나타났다. 연구대상자의 정신건강은 자기효능감(r=-434, p<.001), 사회적지지(r=-.393, p<.001)와 역상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자기효능감과 사회적 지지로 확인되었고, 이러한 요인들은 간호대학생의 정신건강을 24.7%로 설명하였다. 간호대학생의 정신건강을 높이기 위해 반복연구를 통하여 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고, 정신건강을 증진할 수 있는 교육 및 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.
우리나라에 거주하고 있는 중국인 국내 유학생의 구강건강행태와 치과병의원 만족도를 조사하고자 하였다. 연구대상자는 2012년 11월부터 약 2달동안 중국인 유학생 195명을 대상으로 자기기입 설문지를 작성하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 구강건강행위 상태는 국민건강영양조사에 참여한 우리나라 성인과 비교하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 통계프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 중국인 유학생의 평균 잇솔질 횟수는 2.14회, 우리나라 성인의 평균 잇솔질 횟수는 2.81회로 우리나라 성인의 평균 잇솔질 횟수가 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 중국인 유학생의 국내 치과이용의 전반적인 만족도는 3.77점으로 나타났다. 국내 치과 이용시 개선했으면 하는 고려사항에 고비용(15.3%), 의사소통의 어려움(8.6%), 외국인 차별(5.7%) 순으로 나타났다. 중국인 유학생이 국내 체류기간동안 효율적인 학업수행을 위하여 구강건강을 잘 유지되도록 구강보건교육 프로그램을 통하여 올바른 구강건강 습관을 기르는 것이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of student question-centered lessons for bi-directional faculty-student communication. Methods: This study performed one-group pretest-posttest design; participants were university students majoring in health science (nursing 58, physical therapy 45) in city C. Data was collected and the program was conducted from March 3 to June 14, 2014. Measurements employed were the ARCS model of motivational design, self-assertiveness, learning satisfaction, and interpersonal relationship. Data was analyzed through frequency statistics, descriptive statistics, and repeated measurement of one-way analysis of variance with the SPSS 19.0 program. Results: In this student question-centered lesson participants exhibited significant enhanced satisfaction in terms of learning motivation, learning satisfaction, self-assertiveness, behavioral assertiveness, general assertiveness, and sensibility regarding interpersonal relationships. Conclusion: The results suggest that student question-centered lessons are applicable to a variety of subjects. Also, for comparative purposes, a faculty-centered lesson will be undertaken.
Objectives: This study was to get database of health service for smoking preventing through investigating the smoking status of students and the knowledge, attitude on smoking. Methods: The subjects were consisted of 463 students who were currently enrolled in 1, 2 and 3 grade of 6 high schools located in Ulsan-city. The instruments for this study were smoking knowledge and smoking attitude questionnaire(each 20 items) developed by WHO. Results: Among the students 25.8% answered they had the experience of smoking. The experience of smoking related to general characteristics were showed significantly different according to opposite sex friends. Student's knowledge level about smoking prevention is high score to mean get obtain 0.65 out of 1. Smoking prevention knowledge level related to highest score(0.82) were have affect on pregnancy and an unborn child. Smoking prevention knowledge level related to low score(0.19) were get rid of stress. Therefore smoking prevention knowledge high level is non smoker rather than smoker. Student's attitude level about smoking prevention is high score to mean get obtain 2.0 out of 3. Smoking prevention attitude level related to highest score(2.5) were no smoking allowed public area and put a stop smoking to friends. Therefore smoking prevention attitude high level is non smoker rather than smoker. Conclusion: It follows from this study that education for smoking prevention should be continued from lower grade student and sustaining teaching for refusal skill against smoking is needed.
Background: University health services have provided comprehensive medical care, counseling, health promotion, and public health services to their students and several other local institutions. To their faculty and staff, university health care centers have served occupational health services and employee assistant program. Purpose: We performed this study to review the health promotion services on two kinds of health care center with different style of university formate. Methods: We tried to collect the data by literature review and interview with executive and provider at health care center in University of California at Berkeley and San Jose State University. Results: Our results were as followed. First, students could use the medical services just as they would their regular doctor's office and urgent care center. Second, the health promotion unit offered programs and services for keeping students healthy and safe, including many opportunities for students to get involved in shaping the public health of the campus. Third, the health promotion recommendation offered from ACHA was useful guideline to improve health status of their member in university campus. Finally, the student satisfaction surveys were used for evaluation and quality improvement. Conclusions: The systematic approach to improve health status of students, faculty and staff can use to maintain a state of optimum health among the diverse student community in support of academic excellence. Coupled with health promotion and public health programs, university health service have to reach all segments of the healthy campus community. To achieve study goals in university, the health care center contributes to promote accountability and responsibility for the health and well being of the members in their campus.
Purpose: The goal of this study is to investigate the correlation of orthodontic treatment with self-esteem and how orthodontic treatment has an effect on university student's self-esteems by investigating and analyzing the difference in self-esteem of each general characteristic and the difference in self-esteem according to the existence or nonexistence of malocclusion and orthodontic treatment for adult university students. Methods: This study conduced a survey for 420 university students including dental related department, department of health and department of non-dental health in two universities located in Taegu, Gyeongbuk-do province from May 15, 2012 to May 30, 2012, and in 420 questionnaires of the investigated 420 target students, total 400(95.2%) questionnaires except for the questionnaires with falsely or erroneous responses were used for study analysis. Results: In the relations of general characteristic with self-esteem, for self-esteem by each gender, male student showed higher, for self-esteem by residential area, the university student residing at metropolitan area showed higher, for self-esteem by financial status, high class and middle class students in home financial status showed higher, for self-esteem by face shape, the student with triangular face shape showed higher, and in the relation of self-esteem with orthodontic treatment, the university student who is getting orthodontic treatment showed higher self-esteem statistically significantly. Conclusion: For gender, male university student, for residential area, the university student residing at metropolitan area, the high class university student in financial status, the university student with triangular face shape, and the university student who is getting orthodontic treatment showed statistically significantly higher self-esteem.
Objectives This study aims to build the baseline data for school health care program by analyzing the questionnaires about satisfaction regarding Oriental Medical Doctor's (Korean Medicine) student health and wellness program. Methods The association of Korean medicine doctor in Sung-nam city conducted Oriental Medical Doctor's student health and wellness program for 12 middle schools and 8 high schools in Sung-nam from August to December, 2015. The participating Oriental Medical Doctor visited each school for 8 times during 5 months period, and conducted health consultations, health education classes and Korean medicine treatment for the school students and school employees. Teachers and administrators from the participating schools answered the self-reported satisfaction questionnaires and the satisfaction questionnaires results were analyzed. Results 85 people responded the program satisfaction questionnaires; 69% responders were very satisfied and 28% were satisfied about the program specifically about the student's health check-ups, informatory brochures for the parents, good participation enrollment process. Responders were pleased about doctor's consultations regarding 'Advising students about their general health', 'Ways to cure sick students fast', 'Providing students with useful information about health', and 'Teaching students how to manage their health in a good shape'. 92.94% of participants agreed to the needs of the school health and wellness program. Conclusions One of the fundamental national health policies is to provide students opportunities to maintain their good health. We have developed a successful pilot program called, "Oriental Medical Doctor's student health and wellness program". We got positive feedback from the participating school teachers regarding our program. Further studies based on this study are needed to show the benefit of the program to broaden its use.

Objective : This study investigated the relation of a physical health status which itself recognizes and an exercise performance situation out for an elementary school students. Methods : This cross-sectional study examined health and exercise performance status of 1,032 elementary school children. To examine children's a physical injury experience and injury occurrence characteristic and a personal computer utility condition, a body alignment status of the student which parents recognize and the relation of a fatigue and concentration level was an investigation with other factors. Results: An average age of the children was the 10.95 yr and an average weight was the 39.02 kg and an average height was the 145.17cm. The student to be experiencing currently an pain occurrence was 192(19.07%). It was most high to the grade 6(23.33%) compared with different grade(p<.01). Physical pain occurrence rate did not exist by gender(p>.05). There is most an pain occurrence region the ankle(38.0%). They had a 27.19% an physical injury experience of the students. Purpose: This study was conducted to describe the perception of parental role held by university students and to examine difference in perception of parental role according to student characteristics. Method: The participant were 338 university student in Gangreung city. The instrument was developed by researcher and consisted of 4 subcategories ; child rearing environment, parental sensitivity, growth and development of infant, and physical care. Data were collected from May 10 to June 1 in 2004 and were analyzed using SPSS Win 10.0 program. Result: The university students' perception of total parental role had a mean item score of 4.02, with 4.12 for parental sensitivity, 4.00 for child rearing environment, 4.00 for physical care and 3.95 for growth and development. There were significant differences in perception of parental role according to sex(t=-5.55, p=.00), grade(F=13.12, p=.00), type of college(F=28.34, p=.00), father's age(F=5.01, p=.00), father's education(F=5.01, p=.00), mother's education(F=3.33, p=.03) student's marriage plan(t=2.37, p=.01) main caretaker(F=9.53, p=.00) person who lived with student in childhood(F=3.62, p=.01) and student's perception of the need for education for parental role(t=3.74, p=.00). Conclusion: The impact of childhood experience has lifelong significance on subsequent health and development. Especially, the experience of childhood is highly affected by the quality of parental role. It is important to identify university student's perception of parental role as pre-parent preparation for parenting. Therefore, pre-parent education program are necessary.
Background: Instrument players are exposed to occupational musculoskeletal symptoms due to constant movement and strain to meet the needs of their audience. This can cause dissonance between the player and the instrument and can cause medical problems in the musculoskeletal system such as pain, tendinitis, muscle spasms, and joint hyperextension from overuse of body parts. Objective: The purpose of this study is to comparatively analyze the characteristics and occurrence of musculoskeletal symptoms in professional and student players, and to find out the awareness of the need for health care professionals and special exercise programs for orchestra players. Methods: The subjects were professional orchestral musicians 191 from the three symphony orchestras and music students 209 from the four universities volunteered to participate in this study; 393 subjects (98.25%) completed the questionnaire. symptom prevalence and related factors of playing-related musculoskeletal disorders (PRMDs) were surveyed with a self-administered questionnaire. Standardized Nordic Questionnaire was complemented by adding a visual-among scale and used to diagnose PRMD. Results: High prevalence of musculoskeletal complaints in both professional musicians (85.30%) and student musicians (82.30%). Professional musicians and student musicians also suffered the highest problem in shoulder and neck complaints. Significant differences were found between groups that recognized of necessity for specialized health professionals, professional organizations, and special programs for musicians. Conclusions: Professional musicians and student musicians, like orchestra players, are already exposed to overuse syndrome. However, student musicians lack awareness of the risk of injury compared to orchestra players. We suggest that an appropriate treatment management program for the prevention and early treatment of musculoskeletal system damage should be provided to performers at an early stage.
