  • Objectives: This study was carried out to provide basic materials to draw up measures for courses operation and effective clinical practice operation for the cultivation of future effective problem solving ability by identifying the relationship between problem solving ability and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students. Methods: This study targeted 215 dental hygiene students from 3 universities located in Gyeonggi-do from November 30 to December 4, 2015. We analyzed the data with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test. One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, Regression analysis by using SPSS. Results: Clinical practice satisfaction between grades according to the general characteristics of the study subjects was analyzed and as a result, clinical practice satisfaction showed a significant difference depending on grade (t=-2.355, p=.019), major satisfaction(F=9.548, p=.000), health status(F=4.909, p=.008). The problem solving ability according to the general characteristics of the study subjects was compared and as a result, the problem solving ability score of students 'living apart from their family or living in lodgings' was found to be higher than that of students 'living with their family' (p=.023) and the problem solving ability of students who answered 'satisfied' with their major was higher than that of students who answered 'moderate' (p=.000). As the problem solving ability and major satisfaction are higher and health status is better, clinical practice satisfaction showed higher results (p<.01). Conclusions: The above results showed a correlation between the problem solving ability and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students and clinical practice satisfaction showed higher scores as the problem solving ability level was higher. Therefore, efforts to enhance dental hygiene students' clinical practice satisfaction are considered necessary by developing and providing a program to strengthen students' problem solving ability.

  • This study was conducted to identify the factors that affect the output of health conters. An analystical model employed in this study was developed by modifying 'input-output model' and 'organizational behavior model'. Data were collected form two source; the 1995 report of thealth center which was submitted to the Ministry of Health and Welfare and a mail survey questionary of officers at health center, including 66 directors and 1,768 staffs of the health centers in southern region. The major findings are as follows: That analysis has identified the factors associated with dependent variables: medical services provided by the health center and health program performance(HPP). The number of primary medical facilities was negatively associated with health center performance while the number of staffs, job satisfaction, and professional background of health center directors were positively associated. These independent variables accounted for 40.1% of the variance of dependent variables. The variance of HPP was significantly explained by the number of health subcenter and primary health post, priority level of public health program by hief executive officers(CEOs) and legislator. A significant relationship was found between leadership types of health center directors and the performance of maternal and child health program. Considering these results, the authors suggested that the role in medical care service of health center in the should be rearranged at local level because medical care service of the health center is competing with primary medical facilities in the same region. It is also suggested that educational efforts be made to improve leadership of the health center directors and concern with public health program by the CEOs and legislators of local governments.

  • Objectives: A mobile health intervention program was provided for employees with overweight and obesity for 12 weeks, and a process evaluation was completed at the end of the program. We investigated participant engagement based on app usage data, and whether engagement was associated with the degree of satisfaction with the program. Methods: The program involved the use of a dietary coaching app and a wearable device for monitoring physical activity and body composition. A total of 235 employees participated in the program. App usage data were collected from a mobile platform, and a questionnaire survey on process evaluation and needs assessment was conducted during the post-test. Results: The engagement level of the participants decreased over time. Participants in their 40s, high school graduates or lower education, and manufacturing workers showed higher engagement than other age groups, college graduates, and office workers, respectively. The overall satisfaction score was 3.6 out of 5. When participants were categorized into three groups according to their engagement level, the upper group was more satisfied than the lower group. A total of 71.5% of participants answered that they wanted to rejoin or recommend the program, and 71.9% answered that the program was helpful in improving their dietary habits. The most helpful components in the program were diet records and a 1:1 chat with the dietary coach from the dietary coaching app. The barriers to improving dietary habits included company dinners, special occasions, lack of time, and eating out. The workplace dietary management programs were recognized as necessary with a need score of 3.9 out of 5. Conclusions: Participants were generally satisfied with the mobile health intervention program, particularly highly engaged participants. Feedback from a dietary coach was an important factor in increasing satisfaction.

The sample used in this study consisted of 450 inpatients and 454 outpatients. The survey instrument is composed of physical environment items, physician factors, nursing staff factors, ancillary staff factors, administrative procedure items, and quality of hospital stay items. And overall satisfaction, intent to revisit, and intent to recommend as dependent variables are measured. Basically, the reliability and validity of survey items was evaluated. And the T-test was performed to compare regional differences of customer satisfaction. Finally to analyse the affecting factors on overall satisfaction, and customer loyalty(intent to revisit and intent to recommend), the multiple regression analysis was used. This study shows firstly, the Daegu region's patient satisfaction level of inpatients and outpatients is lower than Seoul region. Especially, nursing staff factors and quality of hospital stay items are very low on inpatient's satisfaction. Also all independent variables except the sufficiency of goods in hospital stand are very low on outpatient's satisfaction. Secondly, as a result of multiple regression analysis, ancillary staff factors(Beta=0.281) have a significant effect on overall satisfaction of inpatient cases in Daegu region. In regard to intent to revisit and intent to recommend, physical environment factors have a significant effect. Thirdly, in Seoul region, physical environment factors(Beta=0.430) have a significant effect on overall satisfaction of inpatient cases. In regard to intent to revisit and intent to recommend, administrative procedure items and nursing staff factors have a significant effect, respectively. In conclusion, these results indicate that hospitals in Daegu region make an effort to improve the customer satisfaction level, especially, of physical environment factors on inpatients and administrative procedure factors on outpatients
