  • In this paper we study the property of harmonic vector fields. We call a vector fields ${\xi}$ harmonic if it is a harmonic map from the manifold into its tangent bundle with the Sasaki metric. We show that the characteristic polynomial of operator $A={\nabla}{\xi}\;in\;S^{2n+1}\;is\;(x^2+1)^n$.

  • We prove the uniqueness of solutions for the boundary value problem of certain nonlinear elliptic operators in the setting: Given any continuous function f on the p-harmonic boundary of a complete Riemannian manifold, there exists a unique solution of certain nonlinear elliptic operators, which is a limit of a sequence of solutions of the operators with finite energy in the sense of supremum norm, on the manifold taking the same boundary value at each p-harmonic boundary as that of f.

  • Conventional theory of gear mechanism can't be applied to analyze the harmonic drive due to specific movement of the teeth. This paper deals with an analysis of kinematics and geometry of the tooth engagement of a harmonic drive comprising circular spline, flexspline and wave generator. A theoretical new tooth profile of the flexspline in meshing internal rigid gear with involute profile is obtained. Characteristics of harmonic drive reducer are shown according to parameters such as deviation coefficient, deviation distance, addendum modification coefficient. As an example, the design of harmonic drive with 1:80 reduction ratio is presented.

  • A Gauss map of m-dimensional distribution on a Riemannian manifold M is called a harmonic Gauss map if it is a harmonic map from the manifold into its Grassmann bundle $G_m$(TM) of m-dimensional tangent subspace. We calculate the tension field of the Gauss map of m-dimensional distribution and especially show that the Hopf fibrations on $S^{4n+3}$ are the harmonic Gauss map of 3-dimensional distribution.

  • In this paper, we obtain some formulae for harmonic sums, alternating harmonic sums and Stirling number sums by using the method of integral representations of series. As applications of these formulae, we give explicit formula of several quadratic and cubic Euler sums through zeta values and linear sums. Furthermore, some relationships between harmonic numbers and Stirling numbers of the first kind are established.

  • Divisibility properties of harmonic numbers by a prime number p have been a recurrent topic. However, finding the exact p-adic orders of them is not easy. Using class numbers of number fields and Bernoulli numbers, we compute the exact p-adic orders of harmonic type sums. Moreover, we obtain an asymptotic formula for generalized harmonic numbers whose p-adic orders are exactly one.

  • In this paper, some iterative methods are used to discuss the behavior of general mixed-harmonic variational inequalities. We employ the auxiliary principle technique and g-strongly harmonic monotonicity of the operator to obtain results on the existence of solutions to a generalized class of mixed harmonic variational inequality.

  • In the paper we introduce Hausdorff measures which are suitable or the study of Lipschitz regularity of M-harmonic function in the unit ball B in $C^n$. For an M-harmonic function h which satisfies certain integrability conditions, we show that there is an open set $\Omega$, whose Hausdorff content is arbitrarily small, such that h is Lipschitz smooth on $B \backslash \Omega$.
