  • Cyber-Physical Systems(CPS) that mostly provides safety-critical and mission-critical services requires high reliability, so that system testing is an essential and important process. Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) is one of the extensively used techniques for testing hardware systems. However, most conventional HILS has problems that it is difficult to support a distributed operating environment and to reuse a HILS platform. In this paper, we introduce EcoHILS(ETRI CPS Open Human-Interactive hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator) in order to test CPS effectively. Moreover, feasibility tests and performance tests of EcoHILS are performed to confirm its effectiveness.

  • HILS(Hardware In-the Loop Simulation) is commonly used in the development and testing of embedded systems, when those systems cannot be tested easily, thoroughly, and repeated in their operational environments. HILS can be a useful tool to develop products more quickly and cost effectively and also reduces the possibility of serious defects being discovered after production. During the product development period, Design optimization and hardware/software debugging can be performed using HILS skill. This paper describes a HILS model for the STG(Steam-Turbine Generator) Simulator to prove the performance of the developed Digital Governor. It is developed using software technics which can confirm the responses of a real-time system.

  • This paper presents the configuration and performance test results of a SDARS, which consists of three rate gyros and Zilog 8002 microprocessor. Real time hardware-inthe-loop simulation was performed by 3 axis flight motion simulator applying the assumed typical profiles of angular motion. Test results showed that the performance of SDARS was satisfactory. And, attitude errors was reduced by compensation of gyro errors.

  • In this work, infrared targets for a developed hardware-in-the-loop simulation(HILS) system are proposed for a performance test of a dual-sensor imaging seeker equipped with an infrared and a visible sensor that can lock and track for ground and air targets. This integrated system is composed of 100 modules of heat and light sources to simulate various kinds of target and the trajectory of moving targets based on scenarios. It is possible to simulate not only the position, velocity, and direction for these targets but also background clutter and jamming environments. The design and measurement results of an infrared target, such as the HILS system configuration, developed for testing and evaluation of a dual-sensor imaging seeker are described. In the future, it is planned to test the lock-on and tracking performance of an imaging seeker equipped with single or dual sensors dynamically in real time based on a simulation flight scenario in the developed HILS system.

  • Recently, as the road capacity reaches the limit and environmental problems becomes serious, there is gradually increased a need for railroad vehicles that are environment-friendly and have time regularity, reliability and safety. Accordingly, in addition to conventional railroad vehicles, lots of vehicles are being newly developed. We developed the hardware and software of the measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of korean high speed train. The software controls the hardware of the mesurement data and acts as interface between users and the system hardware. In this paper, we is studied for electric apparatus performance of railway vehicle using sensor. In order to this test is developed signal conversion system. Using this system, we obtained important result for pantograph voltage, battery voltage, axle speed, and inverter current.

  • Three-dimensional integration technology results in area savings, platform power savings, and an increase in performance. Through-silicon via (TSV) assembly and manufacturing processes can potentially introduce defects. This may result in increases in manufacturing and test costs and will cause a yield problem. To improve the yield, spare TSVs can be included to repair defective TSVs. This paper proposes a new built-in self-test feature to identify defective TSV channels. For defective TSVs, this paper also introduces dynamic self-repair architectures using code-based and hardware-mapping based repair.

  • For virtual reality, virtual manufacturing system, or simulation based design, we need to visualize very large and complex 3D models which are comprising of very large number of polygons. To overcome the limited hardware performance and to attain smooth realtime visualization, there have been many researches about algorithms which reduce the number of polygons to be processed by graphics hardware. One of these algorithms, occlusion culling is a method of rejecting the objects which are not visible because they are occluded by other objects, and then passing only the visible objects to graphics hardware. Existing occlusion culling algorithms have some shortcomings such as the required long preprocessing time, the limitation of occluder shape, or the need for special hardware implementation. In this study, an efficient occlusion culling algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm reads and analyzes Z-buffer of graphics hardware using Microsoft DirectX, and then determines each object's visibility. This proposed algorithm can speed up visualization by reading Z-buffer using DirectX which can access hardware directly compared to OpenGL, by reading only the region to which each object is projected instead of reading the whole Z-Buffer, and the proposed algorithm can perform more exact visibility test by using simplified model instead of using bounding box. For evaluation, the proposed algorithm was applied to very large polygonal models. And smooth realtime visualization was attained.
