DC reactive sputtering 증착법을 이용한 초전도테이프의 $Y_2O_3$ 단일완충층 증착 ($Y_2O_3$ single buffer layer deposition using DC reactive sputtering for the superconducting coated conductor)

  • $Y_2O_3$ film was directly deposited on Ni-3at%W substrate using DC reactive sputtering technique. Metallic yttrium was used for DC sputtering target and water vapor was used for oxidizing the deposited metallic Yttrium atoms on the substrate. The window of the water vapor turned out to be broad. The minimum partial pressure of water vapor was determined by sufficient oxidation of the $Y_2O_3$ film, and the maximum partial pressure of water vapor was determined by the non-oxidation of the target surface. As the sputtering power was increased, The deposition rate increased without narrowing the window. The fabricated $Y_2O_3$ films showed good texture qualities and surface morphologies. The YBCO film deposited directly on the $Y_2O_3$ buffered Ni-3at%W substrate showed $T_c$, $I_c$ (77 K, self field), and $J_c$ (77 K, self field) of 89 K, 64 A/cm and 1.l $MA/cm^2$, respectively.

BONE RESPONSE OF THREE DIFFERENT SURFACE IMPLANTS : HISTOMORPHOMETRIC, PERIO TEST VALUE AND RESONANCE FREQUENCY ANALYSIS IN BEAGLE DOGS

  • Statement of problem. The intial stability for osseointegration of implant has been an interesting factor. Especially, in the case of poor bone quality or immediately loaded implant, various strategies have been developed focusing on the surface of materials to improve implant fixation to bone. The microscopic properties of implant surfaces play a major role in the osseous healing of dental implants. Purpose. The aims of this study are to perform a histologic and histomorphometric comparison of the healing characteristics of three different surfaces and the comparison of resonance frequency analysis (RFA) values measured by $Osstell^{TM}$ and perio-test values (PTV) measured by Periotest. Material and methods. A total of 24 screw titanium implants (Dentium Co., Seoul, Korea) with 6mm in length and 3.4mm in diameter, were placed in the mandible of 4 beagle dogs. Implants were divided into three groups following the surface treatment methods: Group I is machined(control group). Group II is anodically oxidized. Group III is coated 500nm in thickness with hydroxyapatite(HA) by ion beam assisted deposition(IBAD) on the anodized oxidization. Bone blocks from 2 dogs were caught after 3 weeks of covered healing and another blocks from 2 dogs after 6 weeks. RFA values and PTV were measured right after insertion and at 3 and 6weeks. Histomorphometric analysis was made with Kappa Image Base System to calculate bone-to-implant contact (BIC) and bone area inside the threads. Pearson's correlation analyses were performed to evaluate the correlation between RFA and PTV, BIC and bone area ratio of three different surfaces at 3 and 6 weeks. Results. 1) In all surface treatment methods, the RFA values decreased and the PTV values increased until 6 weeks in comparison to initial values. 2) At 3 weeks, no significant difference was found from bone-to-implant contact ratio and bone area ratio of three different surface treatment methods(P>0.05). However, at 6 weeks, different surface treatment methods showed significantly different bone-toimplant contact ratio and bone area ratio(P<0.05). 3) In the implants with the IBAD on the anodic oxidization, significant difference was found between the 3 weeks and the 6 weeks bone area ratio(P<0.05). 4) Correlation was found between the RFA values and the bone area ratio at 3 and 6 weeks with significant difference(P<0.05). Conclusions. These results indicate that the implants with the IBAD on the anodic oxidization may have a high influence on the initial stability of implant.

타이타늄의 표면개질에 따른 도재 결합 특성 (THE BOND CHARACTERISTICS OF PORCELAIN FUSED BY TITANIUM SURFACE MODIFICATION)

  • Statement of problem: Titanium is well known as a proper metal for the dental restorations, because it has an excellent biocompatibility, resistance to corrosion, and mechanical property. However, adhesion between titanium and dental porcelains is related to the diffusion of oxygen to the reaction layers formed on cast-titanium surfaces during porcelain firing and those oxidized layers make the adhesion difficult to be formed. Many studies using mechanical, chemical and physical methods to enhance the titanium-ceramic adhesion have been actively performed. Purpose: This study meant to comparatively analyse the adhesion characteristics depending on different titanium surface coatings after coating the casts and wrought titanium surfaces with Au and TiN. Material and method: In this study, the titanium specimens (CP-Ti, Grade 2, Kobe still Co. Japan) were categorized into cast and wrought titanium. The wrought titanium was cast by using the MgO-based investment(Selevest CB, Selec). The cast and wrought titanium were treated with Au coating($ParaOne^{(R)}$., Gold Ion Sputter, Model PS-1200) and TiN coating(ATEC system, Korea) and the ultra low fusing dental porcelain was fused and fired onto the samples. Biaxial flection test was done on the fired samples and the porcelain was separated. The adhesion characteristics of porcelain and titanium after firing and the specimen surfaces before and after the porcelain fracture test were observed with SEM. The atomic percent of Si on all sample surfaces was comparatively analysed by EDS. In addition, the constituents of specimen surface layers after the porcelain fracture and the formed compound were evaluated by X-ray diffraction diagnosis. Result: The results of this study were obtained as follows : 1. The surface characteristics of cast and wrought titanium after surface treatment(Au, TiN, $Al_2O_3$ sandblasting) were similar and each cast and wrought titanium showed similar bonding characteristics. 2. Before and after the biaxial flection test, the highest atomic weight change of Si component was found in $Al_2O_3$ sandblasted wrought titanium(28.6at.% $\rightarrow$ 8.3at.%). On the other hand, the least change was seen in Au-Pd-In alloy(24.5at.% $\rightarrow$ 9.1at.%). 3. Much amount of Si components was uniformly distributed in Au and TiN coated titanium, but less amount of Si's was unevenly dispersed on Al2O3 sandblasting surfaces. 4. In X-ray diffraction diagnosis after porcelain debonding, we could see $Au_2Ti$ compound and TiN coating layers on Au and TiN coated surfaces and $TiO_2$, typical oxide of titanium, on all titanium surfaces. 5. Debonding of porcelain on cast and wrought titanium surface after the biaxial flection is considered as a result of adhesion deterioration between coating layers and titanium surfaces. We found that there are both adhesive failure and cohesive failure at the same time. Conclusion: These results showed that the titanium-ceramic adhesion could be improved by coating cast and wrought titanium surfaces with Au and TiN when making porcelain fused to metal crowns. In order to use porcelain fused to titanium clinically, it is considered that coating technique to enhance the bonding strength between coating kKlayers and titanium surfaces should be developed first.

소목(Caesalpinia sappan L.)의 에틸아세테이트 분획물이 Streptococcus mutans에 대한 항균활성 및 부착 억제 (Antimicrobial Activities and Adherence Inhibition on Streptococcus mutans by Ethyl Acetate Extract from Caesalpinia sappan L.)

  • 본 연구는 소목(Caesalpinia sappan L.)의 6가지 유기용매 분획물 중 IP-3의 항균활성을 및 부착능을 측정하고 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. Methanol에 의해 분리된 소목의 항균 물질 수율은 총 4.8%로 나타났으며, 여러 분획물 가운데 EtOAc 분획물(IP-3)에서 3.94%로 가장 높은 수율을 보였다. 2. 소목의 EtOAc 분획물에서 최종 정제된 활성물질은 UV 288.3 nm에서 최대 흡수피크를 나타내었으며, NMR spectrum을 통해 brazilin(($C_{16}H_{14}O_5$)으로 확인되었다. 3. S. mutans에 대한 소목의 EtOAc 분획물의 항균 활성은 최소억제농도(MIC) 3.1 mg/ml에서 균의 생장을 억제하였다. 4. S. mutans 부착억제효과는 하이드록시아파타이트(HA)를 S. mutans와 24 시간 동안 함께 배양한 대조군은 균 부착률이 높게 관찰되었으나, 소목의 EtOAc 분획물을 처리한 군에서는 HA에 S. mutans의 부착이 매우 적게 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 통해, 소목에서 추출된 EtOAc 분획에 존재하는 brazilin이 구강 내 우식원성세균에 강한 항균력을 가지고 있는 것으로 판단되며, 특히 S. mutans의 부착 억제능이 확인되어 우식원성 균주에 대한 생약치료제로 활용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

토끼 경골에서 hydroxyapatite 코팅의 면적에 따른 임프란트의 뒤틀림 제거력과 조직계측학적 분석 (Removal Torque and Histometric Evaluations of Implants with Various Area of Hydroxyapatite Coating Placed in the Rabbit Tibia)

  • Background: This study presents a biomechanical and histometric comparison of bone response to implants with various area of hydroxyapatite(HA) coating. Methods: The implants were placed in the tibia of 10 rabbits weighing 2.5-3.5kg. The control group had a machined surface, the experimental group 1 had 50${\mu}m$ thick HA coated in a band form, and the experimental group 2 had 50${\mu}m$ thick HA coated on the entire surface. 8 weeks after implantation, the animals were sacrificed. Removal torque was measured and histologic preparation was also performed for histologic and histometric analysis. Bone to implant contact as well as percentage of bone area inside threads were measured. ANOVA post hoc, and t-test were used for statistical analysis with p-value p<0.05. Results: 1. The removal torques were 9.36${\pm}$5.64 Ncm, 48.40 ${\pm}$ 16.66 Ncm, and 82.37${\pm}$22.56 Ncm for the control, exp. 1, and exp. 2 group respectively. Statistically significant difference were found among all the groups(p<0.05). 2. Bone to implant contact in the cortical bone were 38.94${\pm}$10.9 %, 66.90${\pm}$14.1 %, 73.00${\pm}$19.4 %, in the marrow bone, 8.30${\pm}$5.4%, 14.59${\pm}$5.9%, 18.54${\pm}$11.8%, and in total, 22.40${\pm}$10.1%, 31,17${\pm}$7.5%, 41.41${\pm}$12.2% for the control, exp. 1, and exp. 2 group respectively . In the cortical bone, exp. 1, and exp. 2 group showed statistically significantly higher contact compared to control group. Total contact and in the marrow bone, only exp. 2 group showed statistically significantly higher contact compared to control group(p<0.05). In all the groups significantly higher contact were observed in the cortical bone compared to the marrow bone(p<0.05). 3. Percentage of bone area inside threads in the cortical bone were 55.68${\pm}$7.25%, 55.19${\pm}$13.19%, 57.04${\pm}$13.33%, in the marrow bone, 12.34${\pm}$14.61%, 17.56${\pm}$20.04%, 20.26${\pm}$12.83%, and in total, 30.30${\pm}$12.46%, 31.57 ${\pm}$15.15%, 34.25${\pm}$12.56% for the control, exp.1, and exp. 2 group respectively. There was no statistical difference among the groups. In all the groups significantly higher bone area were observed in the cortical bone compared to the marrow bone(p<0.05)

SKD61과 Radical Nitriding 처리된 SKD61 기판상에 Arc Ion Plating으로 증착된 TiN 박막의 미세구조 및 기계적 특성, 마찰 및 접착력에 관한 연구 (A Study on Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, Friction and Adhesion of TiN Thin Films Coated on SKD61 and Radical Nitrided SKD61 Substrates by Arc Ion Plating)

  • TiN coating on tool steel has been widely used for the improvement of durability of tools. In this work, radical nitriding(RN) is carried out on SKD61 at $450^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours in the ammonia gas pressure $2.7{\times}10^3\;Pa$. The TiN coating is carried out by arc ion plating(AIP) with the process parameters: arc power 150 A, bias voltage -50V, coating time 40 minutes and nitrogen gas pressure $4{\times}10^3\;Pa$. Hardness, elastic modulus, friction coefficient and adhesion of TiN coating on substrates of both TiN/SKD61 and TiN/RN SKD61 coatings are investigated comparatively. The primary crystalline faces of TiN surface are(200) and(111) for TiN/SKD61 and TiN/RN SKD61 respectively. In addition to the primary phase, Fe phase exists in TiN/SKD61 coating, but not in TIN/RN SKD61. The hardness of TiN/RN SKD61 is about 700 Hv, 250 Hv(56%) higher than that of TiN/SKD61 at the near interface of TiN and substrates. At the TiN surface, hardness of TiN/RN SKD61 is 2,149 Hv, 71 Hv(3%) higher than that of TiN/SKD61. The elastic modulus of TiN coating is improved to 26.7 GPa(6%) by radical nitriding. The adhesion is improved by the RN coating showing no spalling. buckling and chipping on the scratch test track which are shown on the non-RN TiN/SKD61.

Y2Ba1Cu1Ox공정을 이용한 TFA-MOC YBCO 박막 공정 개발 (Fabrication of TFA-MOD YBCO Films Using Y2Ba1Cu1Ox Process)

  • YBCO film was synthesized by using a new approach to the TFA-MOD method. In the fabrication process, $Y_2Ba_1Cu_1O_x\;and\;Ba_3Cu_5O_8$ powders were used as precursors (the so called '211 process'), instead of Y-, Ba-, and Cu-based acetates, and dissolved in trifluoroacetic acid followed by calcining and firing heat treatment. Consequently, we successfully fabricated YBCO film and evaluated the phase formation, texture evolution, and critical properties as a function of the calcining and firing temperature and humidity, in order to explore its possible application in coated conductor fabrication. The films were calcined at $430-460^{\circ}C$ and then fired at $750-800^{\circ}C\;in\;a\;0-20\%$ humidified $Ar-O_2$ atmosphere. We observed that $BaF_2$ phase was effectively reduced and that a sharp and strong biaxial texture formed under humidified atmosphere leading to increased critical properties. In addition, we found that the microstructure varied significantly with the firing temperature: the grain grew further, the film became denser, and the degree of texture and phase purity varied as the firing temperature increased. For the film fired at $775^{\circ}C$ after calcining at $460^{\circ}C$, the critical current was obtained to be 39 A/cm-width (corresponding critical current density is $2.0\;MA/cm^2$ which was probably attributed to such factors as the enhanced phase purity and out-of-plane texture, the moderate film density and grain size, and crack-free surface.

N2/NF3 분리용 폴리썰폰 중공사막 제조 연구 (Fabrication of Polysulfone Hollow Fiber Membranes for N2/NF3 Separation)

  • 반도체 및 디스플레이 공정에서 배출되는 $N_2/NF_3$ 혼합 가스 분리를 위한 폴리썰폰 중공사막 제조 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저 non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS)와 vapor induced phase separation (VIPS) 혼합 공정을 이용하여 기체투과성이 높은 고분자 중공사막을 제조하였다. 제조된 중공사막 표면에 PDMS(polydimethylsiloxiane)와 Teflon AF1600(R) 고분자 소재를 이용하여 얇은 박막을 추가적으로 코팅하는 방법으로 기체 분리막을 완성하였다. 제조된 분리막은 코팅된 고분자 소재의 기체 분리 특성에 따라 상이한 $N_2/NF_3$ 분리 성능을 보여주었다. 특히 Teflon AF1600(R) 이 코팅된 중공사막의 경우 $N_2/NF_3$ 분리 성능(> 14)을 보여주었고, $N_2$ 투과도는 4.5 GPU를 나타내었다. 상용 폴리썰폰 막과 비교해 볼 때, 투과도는 약간 감소하였지만 기체 선택도는 크게 증가하였다. 이런 특징은 $N_2/NF_3$를 분리하는 분리막 구조로써 큰 가능성을 지니는 것으로 판단된다.

석면 함유 천장재에 대한 석면 안정화제 내구성 평가 연구 (Research on Durability Assessment of Asbestos Stabilizer for Asbestos-containing Ceiling Materials)

  • Objectives: For testing asbestos stabilizer products which are used for the maintenance and management of asbestos-containing materials, durability assessment should accompany the evaluation of basic properties and performance. Therefore, in this study we designed a testing method and constructed a database of durability performance, thereby providing basic data for reliability studies of asbestos stabilizer. Methods: Since the ceiling materials targeted in this study are interior materials, test conditions of 95% relative humidity and 60℃ temperature were designed in consideration of the effect of high relative humidity in summer and seasonal indoor temperatures. Plate-shaped specimens treated with asbestos stabilizers were maintained in a thermo-hygrostat for 5, 10, and 20 days, and then the asbestos scattering prevention rate was measured by air erosion testing. Results: The scattering concentration tended to increase with time under the single humidity condition, and exceeded the indoor air quality standard of 0.01 f/cc, during the 20 days of maintenance. On the other hand, there was little change according to the temperature condition. In the case of a complex condition with temperature and humidity, the results were similar to the humidity test, but the scattering concentration increased more sharply at 20 days. Conclusions: The main deterioration factor that affects the durability of asbestos stabilizer is humidity, and the deterioration is caused by a mechanism in which the stabilizer coated on the surface is re-dissolved by moisture and evaporates or the coating layer is peeled off, which is accelerated by high temperatures.

공유결합을 이용한 무기질 섬유와 제올라이트의 결합 (Binding of Zeolites to Inorganic Fiber using Covalent Linkers)

  • 휘발성 유기화합물을 제거하는 허니콤 흡착제의 제조 성분인 무기질 섬유에 흡착력이 뛰어난 제올라이트를 화학 결합시켰다. 무기질 섬유를 염산, 황산 또는 플루오르화 수소산 등으로 처리하여 표면의 불순물을 제거하여 제올라이트의 접합 능력을 향상시켰다. 무기질 섬유와 제올라이트의 표면에 매달은 클로로프로필, 아미노프로필 또는 에폭시기 등을 서로 반응시켜 두 물질을 화학 결합시켰으며, 연결 화합물로 고분자 폴리에틸렌이민을 사용하기도 하였다. 결합상태는 전자현미경으로 관찰하였고, BET 표면적 분석을 통하여 제올라이트 접합량을 유추하였다. 폴리에틸렌이민을 사용하면 제올라이트를 무기질 섬유에 많이 결합시킬 수 있었다.
