Based on previous research, advanced port operation, timely development of port, port safety management, and growth with the region were selected as the main roles of port governance. In addition, the importance of each role was analyzed by selecting the government-led port authority and government and local joint port authority as alternatives. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the establishment of the government-led port authority was reasonable in terms of advanced port operation, timely port development, and port safety management. On the other hand, local joint port authority is reasonable in terms of growth with the region. The implication of this study is that it is necessary to simplify port governance in Gyeonggi Privince and establish the government-led port authority in which Participation of local governments is required for linking regional administration and urban development plans.

The subjects in this study consisted of 203 couples with children of ages 3, 4, and5 attending child care centers in the Gyeong-gi province. The results of this research are summarized as follows. First, experiences in the family of origin with fathers, have meaningful correlations with parenting participation of fathers and parenting stress of mothers. Also, parenting participation of fathers has meaningful correlations with parenting stress of mothers. Second, experiences in the family of origin with fathers have direct/indirect influence on parenting stress of mothers and parenting participation of fathers played a mediating role between the two variables. It is significant that these results give the basic research data for developing aparental education program that can lower parenting stress of mothers by parenting participation of fathers.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the main and interaction effects of fathers' parenting and their play participation on emotional regulation of preschoolers. The participants of this study consisted of 269 preschoolers (M: 61.4 months, SD: 15.3) located in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. The results of regression analysis revealed that; 1) Father's parenting (such as rational instruction, friendly attitude) positively predicted child's emotion regulations. 2) The interaction effects of fathers' parenting (such as parenting participation, reaction, rational instruction, friendly attitude) with their constructive play participation predicted children's emotion regulations. Namely, fathers with higher constructive play participation showed higher emotion regulations of preschoolers under father's parenting participation, reaction, rational instruction and friendly attitude. 3) The interaction effects between fathers' functional play participation and father's parenting participation predicted children's emotion regulations. Findings indicate that fathers play a role in improving children's emotion regulation by parenting. Moreover, its effects appeared more apparently when fathers participated with constructive and functional play methods. In conclusion, it is suggested that fathering and the level of play involvement may be key variables for developing young children's emotion regulation.

  • The carpophores of Cryptoporus volvatus collected in Gyeong-gi Province of Korea were extracted with water and a protein-polysaccharide fraction was obtained after dialysis and lyophilization. The antitumor activity of this fraction was tested against sarcoma 180 implanted in A-strain mice. The tumor inhibition ratio was 80.4% in case of the high dose group (50mg/kg, ip, 10 days) and 70.3% in the low dose group (20mg/kg, ip, 10 days). The proteinpolysaccharide fraction was chemically analyzed and was found to be a complex of a protein which was 18.2% of the fraction when determined by Lowry-Folin method, and a polysaccharide which was 55.3% of ther fraction when determined by Anthrone method. Their subunits were identified as four monosaccharides and 18 amino acids by gas-liquid chromatography and amino acid autoanalysis.

  • This study is a qualitative research on job transfer experiences of child care teachers and directors of child care centers. The research was conducted on 21 participants: 10 child teachers and 11 directors of child care centers in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. Focus group interviews were held at the subjects' child care centers in July 2011. Each focus group participated in one interview and the average length of these interviews was 2 hours. Four focus group interviews were recorded and transcribed. The gathered data was analyzed within and across groups according to focus group interview analysis methods. The analysis showed five categories in both the teacher group and the director group. Reorganizing this analysis revealed three phases: before, in the course of, and after the transfer. Further description about the job transfer was given for each phase of the two groups. This research is significantly meaningful in that it brings light to the experiences around job transfer for both groups at the same time.
