Prestressed ground anchors are important structural elements in geotechnical engineering. Despite their widespread usage, the design process is often significantly simplified. One of the major drawbacks of commonly used design methods is the assumption that skin friction is mobilized uniformly along an anchor's fixed length, one consequence of which is that a progressive failure phenomenon is neglected. The following paper introduces an alternative design approach - a computer algorithm employing the load-transfer method. The method is modified for the analysis of anchors and combined with a procedure for the derivation of load-transfer functions based on commonly available laboratory tests. The load-transfer function is divided into a pre-failure (hardening) and a post-failure (softening) segment. In this way, an aspect of non-linear stress-strain soil behavior is incorporated into the algorithm. The influence of post-grouting in terms of radial stress update, diameter enlargement, and grout consolidation is included. The axial stiffness of the anchor body is not held constant. Instead, it gradually decreases as a direct consequence of tensile cracks spreading in the grout material. An analysis of the program's operation is performed via a series of parametric studies in which the influence of governing parameters is investigated. Finally, two case studies concerning three investigation anchor load tests are presented.

During construction of a sea-crossing bridge grouting was used to fill densely the space between the bottom of caisson and the ground. This grout mixture was mixed with an anti-washout admixture after locating accurately the pre-cast caisson on three concrete landing pads. This method differs significantly from the costly conventional method, for bridge foundations offshore, where concrete is placed in situ after excavating inside of a temporary concrete coffering wall. To verify the grouting method in advance, the full-scale field tests were performed twice on land. After identifying the fluidity of the grout material to be filled, finding some possible problems with the main construction and revising the original design, the main construction has been continuing successfully with 20 caissons completed to date. The purpose of this paper is to introduce for the first time in Korea the grouting method including the automatic and the manual monitoring system based on the main construction of the caisson foundation.

Bentonite-based grouting has been popularly used to seal a borehole installed for a closed-loop vertical ground heat exchanger in a geothermal heat pump system (GHP) because of its high swelling potential and low hydraulic conductivity. The bentonite-based grout, however, has relatively lower thermal conductivity than that of ground formation. Accordingly, it is common to add some additives such as silica sand to the bentonite-based grout for enhancing thermal performance. In this study, graphite is adapted to substitute silica sand as an addictive because graphite has very high thermal conductivity. The effect of graphite on the thermal conductivity of bentonite-based grouts has been quantitatively evaluated for seven bentonite grouts from different product sources. In addition, comparisons of viscosity between applications of graphite and silica sand as additives has been carried out. In conclusion, using graphite has thermal conductivity about three times higher than that of silica sand.
In Korea, which is mostly mountainous, the proportion of tunnel and underground space development are increasing. Although the ground is reinforced by applying the ground improvement method during underground space development, accidents still occur frequently in Korea. In the grouting method, a representative ground reinforcement method, the effect was judged by comparing the total amount of injection material with the amount of injection material used during the actual grouting construction. However, it is difficult to determine whether the ground reinforcement is properly performed during construction or within the target ground. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to study a new method for quality control during or after construction by measuring electrical resistivity after performing grouting by mixing carbon fiber, which is a conductive material, and microcement, which is a grout material. In this study, as a basic study, a cement specimen mix ed with 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% of carbon fiber was prepared to evaluate the performance of the grout material mixed with carbon fiber, which is a conductive material. The prepared specimens were wet curing for 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days under 99% humidity, and then compression wave velocity and shear wave velocity were measured. As a result of the compression wave velocity and shear wave velocity measurement, it showed a tendency to increase with the increase in the compounding ratio of carbon fibers and the number of days of age, and it was confirmed that the elastic modulus and shear modulus, which are the stiffness of the material, also increased.

The grouting method is used for reinforcing and waterproofing the soft ground, increasing the bearing capacity of structures damaged by lowering or subsidence due to rise and vibration, and for ordering. This study attempted to develop a blast furnace slag-based cementless grout material to increase the strength and hardening time of the grout material using reinforcing fibers. In this regard, in this study, it was used in combination with calcium hydroxide, which is an alkali stimulant of the three fine powders of blast furnace slag, and the content of calcium hydroxide was used by substituting 10, 20, and 30% of the fine powder of blast furnace slag. In addition, in order to compare the strength according to the presence or absence of reinforcing fibers, an experiment was performed by adding 0.5% of each fiber. As the content of carbon fibers and aramid fibers increased, the uniaxial compressive strength increased, and it was confirmed that the crosslinking action of the fibers in the grout material increased the uniaxial compressive strength. In addition, it was confirmed that the gel time sharply decreased as the content of the alkali stimulate increased.

With increasing underwater structure construction, there is high interest in offshore foundation and underwater grout and various study has been done in this area. For grout materials constructed underwater, it may be washed away by water or easily disturbed and material separation phenomenon during curing period always happens. As a result, it is difficult to ensure construction quality and this has a significant influence on the design strength of structure. In this study, to understand application effects of anti-washout admixture for the preplaced construction method, where grout is injected in monopile after filled with aggregates, laboratory tests on bleeding and compressive strength of anti-washout admixture were performed under various test conditions varying size of aggregate, water and cement ratio and admixture, and test results were compared and evaluated.
In order to ground reinforcement, the chemical grouting, the anchor, the soil nailing system, the micropile, etc. can be mentioned by the methods widely used in domestic. The above ground reinforcement methods are developed by various methods depending on the type of reinforcement, installation method, presence of prestress, grouting method, etc. However, in common, the strength of reinforcement, the friction force of grout and reinforcement and the friction force of grout and ground are the main design variables. Therefore, the optimized ground reinforcement is a material with a high tensile strength of the reinforcement itself, the friction force between the reinforcement and the grout is high, and the application of an optimal grouting method is necessary to improve the friction force between the grout and the ground. In this study, a total of 20 model tests were conducted to analyze the reinforcement effects according to the shape of the reinforcement and the grouting method. As a result of the test, As a result of the experiment, it is judged that the reinforcing effect is superior to the perforated + wing type reinforcement and post grouting method.
This study is about the estimation of the mechanical properties of cement grout material using a magnetic field treated water instead of tap water. The water that passed through a magnetic system is called MFTW. Similar research indicates that 5% of cement dosage can be saved by decreasing bleeding of concrete and improving resistance to freezing. The reason why MFTW can improve characteristics of concrete can be explained by molecular structure of water. Magnetic force makes water clusters into single molecule or small ones. Hence, the activity of water is improved by the magnetic force. While hydration of cement particles is on progress, the MFTW can penetrate the core region of cement particles more easily. Therefore, the hydration can be carried out more efficiently and the compression strength of concrete is highly improved. The sample of the sodium silicate cement grout's homogel using the MFTW results in highly compressive strength increases in compressive strength approximately from 20% to 50%.
This study was conducted to obtain granular crystalline gypsum that can be used as raw material for plaster boards or cements from waste Plaster board. We could disintegrate preferentially gypsum to gypsum needle in 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ or less size among the contents of waste plaster board (gypsum, paper, fiber, and inorganic material .etc.) by hydration afterwards the dehydration of crushed waste plaster board. In this case, the optimum conditions for minimizing the size of gypsum were dehydration rate of 75%~ 85%, hydration concentration of 10~20%, agitation speed of 250~400rpm, crushing size of 2cm or less. Gypsum of 98.21% grade was recovered with 99.0% yield from under screenings of 325mesh wet screening which followed by the dehydration-hydration process performed in the conditions of dehydration rate of 80%, hydration concentration of 15%, agitation speed of 300rpm, crushing size of 2cm or less. Subsequently, Plate-like Crystalline gypsum of is 151${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ size and the grade of 99.49% with the Yield of 98.0% from the upper screenings of 270mesh wet screening carried out after the re-crystallization of the recovered gypsum needle slurry.
The cone bolts with expanded front ends supply improved anchoring performances and increase energy absorbing capacities due to ploughing in the grouted drills. Within this study, use of a novel energy absorber for the cone bolt heads were investigated to assess its design in terms of supplying high support performances. Additionally, different grout material designs were tested to investigate whether the energy absorption capacities of the rock bolts can be improved using a silicone based thermoset polymer (STP) additive. To determine load bearing and energy absorption capacities, a series of deformation controlled pull-out tests were carried out by using bolt samples grouted in rock blocks. According to the results obtained from this study, maximum load bearing capacities of cone bolts are similar and mostly depend on the steel material strength, whereas the energy absorption capacity was determined to significantly vary in accordance with the displacement limits of the shanks. As a result of using STP additive and new polyamide absorber rings, displacement limits without the steel failure increase. The STP additive was found to improve the energy absorption capacities of grouted cone bolts. The absorber rings designed within this study were also assessed to be highly effective and able to double up the energy absorption capacities of the cone bolts.
