  • This research addresses global status of Korean media firms and their future directions. Mapping of major international media firms all over the world is used in order to explain global status fully. In the four categories that classified media firms using Forbes Global 2000 mapping, all Korean media firms are included in the fourth group, which is the weakest in terms of global competitiveness. Therefore, it is essential to trace appropriate global strategy from the media industry value chain that has competence. This paper finds out that Korea has advantage in the contents, terminal, and next generation networks. That means alliance strategies of contents-terminal-next generation network have advantage to evolve into global media firms. Moreover, Korean media companies should adopt selection and concentration strategy in terms of geographical expansion. As Korea's broadcasting and game contents are already popular in Asian and Latin American regions, they would better to enter the emerging markets. In so doing, terrestrial broadcasters and game service providers should lead the way.

  • This paper proposes the Global Clipboard System and presents a preliminary study on it. The clipboard is a temporary storage used to copy and paste some contents between application programs in Windows Operating System. The proposed Global Clipboard is a contents delivery system that extends the concept of the existing local clipboard to Internet. The Global Clipboard System operates in two steps. An application user can upload selected contents to the Global Clipboard by typing consecutive keys of Ctrl-C and Ctrl-Shift-C easily. And other users can download and utilize the contents from the Global Clipboard by typing Ctrl-Shift-V and Ctrl-V keys consecutively. The proposed Global Clipboard can deal almost data like simple texts, screen capture images, files, and directories. In this paper, we developed a global clipboard server, a Windows application, and an Android application. We have conducted experiments about functions of the Global Clipboard and also compared delay times between 4 applications such as e-mail, Kakao, Google Drive, and the Global Clipboard. The results of the evaluation show that the time delay spending in sending and receiving contents is shortest when the Global Clipboard is used.

  • This study was conducted for the purpose of evaluating the impressions gained by the members of the audience who have seen contents in a dome theater, based on their seating positions. Dome Theater Gaia provided the environment where the contents for evaluation were to be presented, and enquete (survey) was used as the investigative method. The survey results showed that the presentation of wide-viewing-angle three-dimensional (3D) contents proved effective in enhancing the 3D effect and the presence in a dome theater. Moreover, the study results confirmed that in relation to the impression evaluation of the contents for different seating positions, the optimal seating position varied according to the presentation method of the 3D and 2D contents.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to understand the current status of global health curricula and characteristics in nursing schools, focusing on the changes since 2015. Methods: Data were collected from the websites of 202 nursing schools nationwide in Korea. Global health curricula were analyzed using a structured framework developed by the authors. Results: Among 202 nursing schools, 173 (85.6%) schools offer global health-related courses. Of these, 72 (35.6%) schools offer a 'Multiculturalism' course, and 42 (20.8%) schools offer a 'Global Nursing' course. Fifty-nine schools (29.2%) offer both courses. Compared to the study findings in 2015, the number of global health-related courses and the percentage of global health-related courses designated as a requirement dramatically increased. An additional analysis of five syllabi of global-health related courses found several differences in the courses' aims, contents and evaluation methods. Conclusions: Due to social and political changes, nursing schools are more likely to offer global health curricula. However, there is still a lack of consensus on the core contents and approaches of such curricula, necessitating systematic discussions about the core contents and effective learning methods to increase nursing student competency in global health nursing.

  • In recent years, the rapid proliferation of domestic and global Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, in conjunction with the global pandemic, has substantially enhanced the accessibility of global contents. This trend is expected to continue to strengthen. This study examines the extent to which domestic consumers experience global contents through OTT platforms and its impact on individual consumers' global identity and the formation of global brand attitudes. We conducted an empirical analysis based on a survey of university students, who constitute the main consumer group for global contents through OTT platforms. The results show that as exposure to global content s and diversity of those experiences through OTT increase, respondents exhibit higher levels of global consumer orientation and global identity. This, in turn, has a positive influence on the formation of global brand attitudes.
