Subminifolds of Euclidean spaces have been studied by examining geodesics of the submanifolds viewed as curves of the ambient Euclidean spaces ([3], [7], [8], [9]). K.Sakamoto ([7]) studied submanifolds of Euclidean space whose geodesics are plane curves, which were called submanifolds with planar geodesics. And he completely calssified such submanifolds as either Blaschke manifolds or totally geodesic submanifolds. We now ask the following: If there is a point p of the given submanifold in Euclidean space such that every geodesic of the submanifold passing through p is a plane curve, how much can we say about the submanifold\ulcorner In the present paper, we study submanifolds of euclicean space with such property.

A pair of point vortices of the same strength but opposite sign is called a vortex dipole. We consider the limiting case where two vortices approach infinitely close while the ratio of the strength to the distance kept constant. The motion of such point vortex dipole on the ellipsoid of revolution is investigated geometrically to conclude that the trajectory draws a geodesic up to the leading order of perturbation, whose direction is determined by the initial orientation of the dipole. Related issues are also remarked.

The geodesic equation in a two-dimensional Finsler space is given by the differential equation of the Weierstrass form. In the present paper, we express the differential equations of geodesics in a two-dimensional Finsler space with a generalized Kropina metric.

In this paper, we construct two types of non-tangential half lightlike submanifolds of a semi-Riemannian manifold admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. Our main result is to prove several characterization theorems for each types of such half lightlike submanifolds equipped with totally geodesic screen distributions.

In this paper the decomposition of basic equations of $(LCS)_n$-manifolds is carried out into horizontal and vertical projections. Further, we study the integrability of the distributions $D,D{\oplus}[{\xi}]$ and $D^{\perp}$ totally geodesic of semi-invariant submanifolds of $(LCS)_n$-manifold.

For two vertices u and v of an oriented graph D, the set I(u, v) consists of all vertices lying on a u-v geodesic or v-u geodesic in D. If S is a set of vertices of D, then I(S) is the union of all sets 1(u, v) for vertices u and v in S. The geodetic number g(D) is the minimum cardinality among the subsets S of V(D) with I(S) = V(D). In this paper, we give a partial answer for the conjecture by G. Chartrand and P. Zhang and present some results on orient able geodetic number.

In this paper, we obtain geodesic formula of a certain class of Pseudoriemmanian 2-step nilpotent groups and show a constancy of represenation matrix of Jacobi oprerators along geodesics in Pseudoriemmanian 2-step nilpotent groups with one dimensional center.

If any geodesic on $F^n$ is also a geodesic on $\={F}^n$ and the inverse is true, the change $\sigma:L{\rightarrow}\={L}$ of the metric is called projective. In this paper, we will find the condition that a recurrent Finsler space remains to be a recurrent one under the projective change.

We study the geometry of r-lightlike submanifolds M of a semi-Riemannian manifold $\bar{M}$ with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection subject to the conditions; (a) the screen distribution of M is totally geodesic in M, and (b) at least one among the r-th lightlike second fundamental forms is parallel with respect to the induced connection of M. The main result is a classification theorem for irrotational r-lightlike submanifold of a semi-Riemannian manifold of index r admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection.
