Wind power generation is the natural source energy without pollution, and the highest economic efficiency among renewable energies. Amid the recent development of small wind power generation, wind power generation facilities can be installed in the super high-rise buildings or complexes. It is necessary to conduct analyses on appropriate locations in a bid to promote efficient power generation in those locations. In this study, relative weight of the elements required for the wind power generation were estimated by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process in Busan City, and the characteristics of wind velocity and wind direction in Busan City were expressed. As a result, 'Dadae 1-dong, Cheolma-myeon, Noksan-dong' was selected as the candidate region inside Gangseo-gu, Gijang-gun, Saha-gu by using the geo-spatial information system.

LBS services is a user-centric location based information service, where its importance has been discussed as an essential engine in an Ubiquitous Age. We aimed to develop an ontology reasoning system that enables users to derive recommended results suitable through selection standard reasoning according to various users' preferences. In order to achieve this goal, we designed the Geo-ontology system which enabled the construction of personal characteristics of users, knowledge on personal preference and knowledge on spatial and geographical preference. We also integrated a function of reasoning relevant information through the construction of Cost Value ontology using multi-criteria decision making by giving weight according to users' preference.

In the Geumho River, 4-nitrophenol has been detected, thus it is necessary to investigate the contamination sources in order to prevent the release of this compound. However, the research to estimate the potential source is regarded as complicated research. In this study, the distributions of 4-nitrophenol were simulated and the contribution of the potential sources was estimated using a numerical model(HydroGeoSphere; HGS) and the measuring data of 4-nitrophenol from 2013 to 2017. The altitude data, the land cover data, the flow rates of the tributaries and wastewater treatment plants, and the decay rate of 4-nitrophenol was used as the input data. The results of this research showed that the contribution rates of potential contamination sources in the upstream area were higher than that of the downstream area. Most of the upstream area is the agricultural area, it seemed that 4-nitrophenol was originated from the pesticides. In order to achieve more specific location of sources, an intensive investigation in the upstream is required.
Generally, it is known that urethane injection is excellent in long-term durability and environment friendly for ground improvement. However, urethane grouting has short rise time thus the penetration distance from the injection point is so short. Therefore, urethane injection cannot be used for the site where requires ground improvement in deep location from the injection point. Other injection materials such as cement cannot be alternatives when rapid hardening is required. From this study, we improve disadvantage urethane injection by developing TAS method. From the field tests, it is ascertained that TAS increases injection distance over 10m, which is further than that of original urethane grouting. In addition, TAS has relatively short Rise-time compared to cement grouting thus instantaneous improvement can be mobilized right after the injection. Short Rise-time and long penetration distance provide excellent applicability for tunnel construction.

A cadastral map that is base map on Land Information System is divided by two categories, graphical and digital cadastre. And digital cadastre can be displayed with location coordinates of nodes that depict parcel boundary on digital cadastral records. The transformation of digital cadastral records means that imported text data of node coordinate would be transformed into system data. This study was implemented to search reasons of errors resulted from transformation of graphic data and then to analyze the accuracy in terms of Position and area. For this, checking of software used in Geo-Spatial Information System was implemented at first and it was found that the accuracy is up by using double precision in coordinate transformation. On the position accuracy the errors at nodes was erased during making topology and the errors did not effect other nodes. On the area may the area errors because of being in error limit of allowable area had no problems in using of system.
In geographic forwarding algorithms, traditional route maintenance requires mobile nodes periodically exchange beacon messages with their neighbors. In beacon message based forwarding scheme, a longer interval reduces the number of beacons needed, but may result in significant location errors. Conversely, a shorter interval guarantees more accurate location information, but induces control overheads. Therefore, the fixed or dynamic interval scheme based forwarding schemes cannot adapt well to different mobility environments. Also, existing schemes result in the uncertainty of neighbor node's position in the forwarding table of mobile node. Therefore, this paper presents a self-adaptive location checking mechanism based proactive geo-routing algorithm for beacon-based geographic routing. Simulation results show that the proposed routing algorithm not only significantly increases the relay transmission rate but also guarantees the high end-to-end packet delivery in low and high mobility environments.

Photovoltaic system is the core one among the new and renewable energy of the low Carbon and green growth. Recently, the necessity developing PV is emerging since its of less green hose gas emissions. However, a survey or research on the PV system has been hardly performed. It's not easy to find a appropriate location in consideration of environment. These circumstances encourages a systematic approach for the PV system development. The purpose of this study is to propose a methodology of the location analysis for developing PV system. With this, constraint and location criteria with weights of Analytic Hierarchy Process are established and quantification method of each factor is presented. The location analysis of PV system using the GIS were generalized and the results of analysis for redundant topographic features were presented as 3 criteria of the suitability rank.

The purpose of this study was to build a web-server for culture heritages management information system in order to efficiently manage and safely preserve undesignated cultural properties in the Namsan area in Kyeongju, which have been neglected so far. In order to achieve this purpose, data were collected on the basis of undesignated cultural properties in the study area. To acquire the location and range GPS were used and spatial data including geographic coordinates, visual materials and structured interviews were conducted through field survey. In addition, in order to obtained reliable and accurate locations of undesignated cultural properties which are scattered, DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System) were used. The spatial database was constructed based on the standard of cultural properties and attribute data was linked to geo-spatial information(digital map and aerial photographs). This system was built in a web-server environment. The result shows detailed description on the selected output for selected location and property information can be located on the map. In particular, a database to search for the status and modification of cultural properties will provide information to the users.

In this study, we carried out a survey on the degree of recognition for the brand of the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) to contribute to reestablishing the status and role of KIGAM as an institution that people proud of by effectively delivering KIGAM's various research activities and achievements to people. About 49.9% of external publics recognized that there was relevance between research achievements of geo-technology and national brand. On the contribution of research achievements of geo-technology to promoting Korea's power of science and technology, 42.3% gave positive answers. On research achievements of mineral resources technology, just 14.4% replied they saw such results. As alternatives to promote the degree of recognition for brand, we suggested development of beneficial message, operation of brand management committee, promotion of involvement of research achievements of mineral resources technology about people-friendly subjects, development and distribution of "board game for education on mineral resources technology" for youths, activation of location PR, activation of online Q&A bulletin board, finding out star researchers, and president's PI activities.

Safety is a big issue in the construction sites. For safe and secure management, tracking locations of construction resources such as labors, materials, machineries, vehicles and so on is important. The materials, machineries and vehicles could be controlled by computer, whereas the movement of labors does not have fixed pattern. So, the location and movement of labors need to be monitored continuously for safety. In general, Global Positioning System(GPS) is an opt solution to obtain the location information in outside environments. But it cannot be used for indoor locations as it requires a clear Line-Of-Sight(LOS) to satellites Therefore, indoor location monitoring system could be a convenient alternative for environments such as tunnel and indoor building construction sites. This paper presents a case study to investigate feasibility of Wi-Fi based indoor location monitoring system in construction site. The system is developed by using fingerprint map of gathering Received Signal Strength Indication(RSSI) from each Access Point(AP). The signal information is gathered by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, which are attached on a helmet of labors to track their locations, and is sent to server computer. Experiments were conducted in a shield tunnel construction site at Guangzhou, China. This study consists of three phases as follows: First, we have a tracking test in entrance area of tunnel construction site. This experiment was performed to find the effective geometry of APs installation. The geometry of APs installation was changed for finding effective locations, and the experiment was performed using one and more tags. Second, APs were separated into two groups, and they were connected with LAN cable in tunnel construction site. The purpose of this experiment was to check the validity of group separating strategy. One group was installed around the entrance and the other one was installed inside the tunnel. Finally, we installed the system inner area of tunnel, boring machine area, and checked the performance with varying conditions (the presence of obstacles such as train, worker, and so on). Accuracy of this study was calculated from the data, which was collected at some known points. Experimental results showed that WiFi-based indoor location system has a level of accuracy of a few meters in tunnel construction site. From the results, it is inferred that the location tracking system can track the approximate location of labors in the construction site. It is able to alert the labors when they are closer to dangerous zones like poisonous region or cave-in..
