In this paper, the degenerate q-Bernoulli polynomials are defined by generalizing it more, and various properties of these polynomials are introduced. To do this, we define generating functions of them and use the definition to introduce some interesting properties. Finally, we observe the structure of the roots for the degenerate q-Bernoulli polynomials.

In this paper, we dicuss on the properties related to the circular filtering in orthogonal transform domain. The efficient filtering schemes in six orthogonal transform domains are presented by generalizing the convolution-multiplication property of the DFT. In brief, the circular filtering can be accomplished by multiplying the transform domain filtering matrix W, which is shown to be very sparse, yielding the computational gains compared with the time domain processing. As an application, decimation and interpolation techniques in orthogonal transform domains are also investigated.

We consider 𝒩 to be a 3-prime field and 𝒫 to be a prime ideal of 𝒩. In this paper, we study the commutativity of the quotient near-ring 𝒩/𝒫 with left multipliers and derivations satisfying certain identities on 𝒫, generalizing some well-known results in the literature. Furthermore, an example is given to illustrate the necessity of our hypotheses.

The objective of this paper is to design teaching units to foster secondary pre-service teachers' mathematising abilities. In these teaching units we focus on generalizing area of a 2-dimensional triangle and volume of a 3-dimensional tetrahedron to n-volume of n-simplex In this process of generalizing, principle of the permanence of equivalent forms and Cavalieri's principle are applied. To find n-volume of n-simplex, we define n-orthogonal triangular prism, and inquire into n-volume of it. And we find n-volume of n-simplex by using vectors and determinants. Through these teaching units, secondary pre-service teachers can understand and inquire into n-simplex which is generalized from a triangle and a tetrahedron, and n-volume of n-simplex which is generalized from area of a triangle and volume of a tetrahedron. They can also promote natural connection between school mathematics and academic mathematics.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of anterior walker and posterior walker on gait parameters and body alignment of children with cerebral palsy. The intraclass correlation coefficient was .99 for intertester reliability. Intratester reliability was between .96 and .99. The use of posterior walker increased gait velocity and facilitated more upright posture. The measurement of joint angle program was found to be reliable to measure range of motion. This study has a limitation of generalizing the results to all children with cerebral palsy. Research is required to investigate the effect of posterior walker on energy efficiency.

Given a positive integer n, a ring R is said to be n-semi-Armendariz if whenever $f^n=0$ for a polynomial f in one indeterminate over R, then the product (possibly with repetitions) of any n coefficients of f is equal to zero. A ring R is said to be semi-Armendariz if R is n-semi-Armendariz for every positive integer n. Semi-Armendariz rings are a generalization of Armendariz rings. We characterize when certain important matrix rings are n-semi-Armendariz, generalizing some results of Jeon, Lee and Ryu from their paper (J. Korean Math. Soc. 47 (2010), 719-733), and we answer a problem left open in that paper.

We investigate logit confidence intervals for the odds ratio based on the delta method. These intervals are constructed using pseudo-Bayes estimators. The Gart method and Agresti method smooth the observed counts toward the model of equiprobability and independence, respectively. We obtain better coverage probability by smoothing the observed counts toward the pseudo-Bayes estimators in 2$\times$2 table. We also improve legit confidence intervals in 2$\times$2$\times$K tables by generalizing these ideas. Utilizing pseudo-Bayes estimators, we obtain better coverage probability by smoothing the observed counts toward the conditional independence model, no three-factor interaction model and saturated model in 2$\times$2$\times$K tables.

A modified version of SST turbulence model is suggested to simulate unsteady separated flows over oscillating airfoils. The original SST model, which shows good performance in predicting various steady flows, often results in oscillatory behavior of aerodynamic loads in large separated flow regions. It is shown that this oscillatory behavior is due to the adoption of the absolute value of vorticity in generalizing the original model. As a remedy, a modification is made such that the vorticity in the original SST model is replaced by strain rate. The present model is verified for a mild separated airfoil flow at fixed angle of incidence and for unsteady flowfields about oscillating airfoils. The results are compared with BSL model and original SST model. It is illustrated that the present model gives a better agreement with the experimental results than other two models.
