Modal Test of Missile Structure with Live Warhead and Propellant (활성탄 전기체 동특성 시험기법 연구)

  • Modal parameters of a structure are the important factor to control the missile maneuver. In general, a dummy structure is used for the modal test of missile structure instead of the real warhead and propellant because there may be the danger of a explosion by the electric shock of test equipment, such as the exciter and the power amplifier. However, the modal testing of a real missile structure is required to acquire the modal parameters and to analyze the missile performance accurately. The new test system and technique are developed to get rid of the danger and secure the safety during the testing. This test system is made of with the computer network system and controlled remote from test site. Using His new test system, the modal test of real missile structure is performed successfully and its validity is proven.

  • Small-scaled Rotor Test facility(GSRTS, General Small-scaled Rotor Test Facility) in KARI could not use the test because facility aging and parts discontinued. Also in order to perform a joint international research, GSRTS modifications should be needed. So requirements of GSRTS modifications were established and according to the requirements, GSRTS modifications were conducted. Facility operation test, 6-component fixed balance calibration, Small-scaled OLS rotor performance test were performed to verify the results of GSRTS modifications. Reasonable results were obtained in comparison to calculation results. Then GSRTS ready was completed to conduct international collaborative research and wind tunnel test.

  • This paper present an advanced fault diagnosis expert system to assist the operators at local control center. The system utilizes all th information available in a local control center for the better diagnostic performance. The major feature of the system is dealing with multiple faults diagnosis based on the certainty factor method for the reasoning process. the overall performance and the generality are also enhanced by utilizing the general topological knowledge. ASCADA simulator is also developed for he test and demonstration.

  • High-rise buildings and complex facilities are a representative urban system for the masses, and it requires an increasing role of commodity and safety. Smoke and toxic gasses can cause accidents due to fire in these systems. The purpose of this study is to develop a fiber screen material for emergency evacuation passages that can be avoided quickly and safely in cases of disasters. The fiber screen material is applicable to folding devices for emergency evacuation passages. The material is different from general steel material in that it is lightweight with less burden during storage for a long time in a roll form in a folding device. It also has an excellent secondary function in that it is less affected by radiant heat. Three kinds of fiber screen materials were selected that have good flame retardancy and post-processing characteristics. A performance evaluation was performed by a heat shrinkage test, contact heat test, combustibility test, flame retardancy test, tensile strength test, and tear strength test. As a result, the lightweight fabric shows excellent performance through post-processing, and silicone resin coating can secure safety of the pizza by the fiber screen material performance and radiant heat. The optimum post-treatment conditions were evaluated by performing a burning test after coating two kinds of glass fibers and four types of flame-retardant silicone resins with different weight and thickness.

Yaw Moment Control for Modification of Steering Characteristic in Rear-driven Vehicle with Front In-wheel Motors (전륜 인휠모터 후륜구동 차량의 선회 특성 변형을 위한 요모멘트 제어)

  • This paper presents yaw moment control for modification of steering characteristic in rear-driven vehicle with front in-wheel motors (IWMs). The proposed control algorithm is designed to modify yaw rate response of the test vehicle. General approach for modification of steering characteristic is to define the desired yaw rate and track the yaw rate. This yaw rate tracking method can cause the chattering problem because of the IWM actuator response. Large overshoot and settling time in IWM torque response can amplify the oscillation in control input and yaw rate. To resolve these problems, open-loop IWM controller for cornering agility was designed to modify the understeer gradient of the vehicle. The proposed algorithm has been investigated via the computer simulations and the vehicle tests. The performance evaluation has been conducted on dry asphalt using E-segment test vehicle. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been compared to general yaw rate tracking algorithm in the vehicle tests. It has been shown that the proposed control law improved the cornering agility without chattering problem.

The Relationship between Satisfaction with Clinical Practice and Clinical Performance Ability for Nursing Students (간호대학생의 임상실습 만족도와 임상수행능력과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this descriptive study was to investigate satisfaction with clinical practice and clinical performance ability for 118 of third and fourth year nursing students. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS/PC+ver. 21 program which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. The results of this study were as follows : The satisfaction with clinical practice was 3.36 point out of 5 and the clinical performance ability was 3.42 point out of 5. In satisfaction with clinical practice, satisfaction of the curriculum was the highest and in clinical ability performance, education partnerships was the highest. Clinical practice satisfaction according to the general characteristic of the subjects was significant difference in health status(F=3.896, p=.023), satisfaction with college life(F=8.164, p<.001), nursing department(F=4.652, p=.011), conditions in clinical practice(F=11.889, p<.001), and practice workload(F=13.504, p<.001). Clinical performance ability according to the general characteristic of the subjects was significant difference in religion(t=6.682 p=.011) and satisfaction with college life(F=3.440, p=.035). The relationship between clinical practice satisfaction and clinical performance ability was positive correlation(r=.297, p=.001).

  • Cables are prone to vibration due to their low inherent damping characteristics. Recently, negative stiffness dampers have gained attentions, because of their promising energy dissipation ability. The viscous inertial mass damper (termed as VIMD hereinafter) can be viewed as one realization of the inerter. It is formed by paralleling an inertial mass part with a common energy dissipation element (e.g., viscous element) and able to provide pseudo-negative stiffness properties to flexible systems such as cables. A previous study examined the potential of IMD to enhance the damping of stay cables. Because there are already models for common energy dissipation elements, the key to establish a general model for IMD is to propose an analytical model of the rotary mass component. In this paper, the characteristics of the rotary mass and the proposed analytical model have been evaluated by the numerical and experimental tests. First, a series of harmonic tests are conducted to show the performance and properties of the IMD only having the rotary mass. Then, the mechanism of nonlinearities is analyzed, and an analytical model is introduced and validated by comparing with the experimental data. Finally, a real-time hybrid simulation test is conducted with a physical IMD specimen and cable numerical substructure under distributed sinusoidal excitation. The results show that the chosen model of the rotary mass part can provide better estimation on the damper's performance, and it is better to use it to form a general analytical model of IMD. On the other hand, the simplified damper model is accurate for the preliminary simulation of the cable responses.

Study on the Correction of a Wing-tail Interference Effect in a Semi-empirical Aerodynamic Analysis Tool (반경험적 공력 해석도구의 주날개-꼬리날개 간섭 효과 보정에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, the aerodynamic characteristics of general tail controlled missile were predicted and corrected the result using semi-empirical analysis tool. The cause of the error was confirmed by comparing the aerodynamic characteristics prediction result of the semi-empirical analysis tool with the wind tunnel test result, and the main error factor of the semi-empirical analysis tool was the interference component between the main wing and the tail wing. The semi-empirical analysis results were corrected using the wind tunnel test results and the computational analysis results, and it was confirmed that the corrected data agrees well with the wind tunnel test results. Through this study, it was confirmed that the wing-tail interference component correction is needed when predicting the aerodynamic characteristics of a general tail controlled missile using a semi-empirical analysis tool.

Evaluation of Seismic Performance of Valve Chamber System by Shaking Table Tests (진동대 실험을 통한 밸브실 시스템의 내진성능 평가)

  • The structural safety of expansion joints for piping systems has been drawing attention owing to ruptures and leaks of water pipes caused by earthquakes and road subsidence at soft ground. In general, metal bellows are installed as expansion joints to prevent various damages in the piping system. In this study, the seismic performance of a valve chamber system was evaluated by performing earthquake shaking table tests. To validate the benefits to structural safety of metal bellows in connecting steel pipes to valve chambers, the seismic tests were conducted on expansion joints (bellows) and general pipping, and the results were compared for durability. Strain gauges were attached to measure the effects of the input motion. As a result of the shaking table test, it was confirmed that the strain of the valve chamber structure and inflow or outflow steel pipes were decreased in 1/100, 1/20 by applied to the expansion joints.

  • LTV(Light Tactical Vehicle) operating in our military requires higher levels of performance and durability to withstand harsher conditions than general vehicles, as they must travel on both rough-train and off-road as well as on public roads. Recently, LTV development is demanded a variety of test evaluations in order to satisfy ROC (Required Operational Capability) by the military requirement. However, there is no informations of driving test course for satisfying the durability performance of Korean tactical vehicle. Therefore, this study aims to provide basic data to establish reliable drive test conditions by analyzing the main maneuvering test site at the domestic and foreign country in order to select the representative drive course. These studies will provide a more scientific and systematic evaluation solution for the development of tactical vehicles, and can be effectively used to establish a certified system for military vehicle test evaluation in the future
