시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 이용한 다단 치차장치의 설계 시스템 개발 (Development of Design System for Multi-Stage Gear Drives Using Simulated Annealing Algorithm)

  • Recently, the need for designing multi-stage gear drive has been increased as the hear drives are used more in the applications with high-speed and small volume. The design of multi-stage gear drives includes not only dimensional design but also configuration design of various machine elements. Until now, however, the researches on the design of gear drives are mainly focused on the single-stage gear drives and the design practices for multi-stage gear drives, especially in configuration design activity, mainly depend on the experiences and 'sense' of the designer by trial and error. We propose a design algorithm to automate the dimension design and the configuration design of multi-stage gear drives. The design process consists of four steps. The number of stage should be determined in the first step. In second step, the gear ratios of each reduction stage are determined using random search, and the ratios are basic input for the dimension design of gears, which is performed by the exhaustive search in third step. The designs of gears are guaranteed by the pitting resistance and bending strength rating practices by AGMA rating formulas. In configuration design, the positions of gears are determined to minimize the volume of gearbox using simulated annealing algorithm. The effectiveness of the algorithm is assured by the design example of a 4-stage gear drive.

저소음 치차설계를 위한 치형수정에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Gear Noise and Design for Gear Noise Reduction)

  • The area of gear vibration and noise, has recently been the focus of many studies. The proper kinematic and geometric design of gears, the mathematical modeling of gear system are essential for a good design. This work present a gear disign for reducing noise, and practical approaches used for machinery noise reduction slong with the summary of methods available for predicting gear noise in terms of the transmis- sion error, and show a comparative study with other methods. A new tooth profile modification is proposed for reducing vibration and noise of involute gears. The method is based on the use of cubic spline curves. The tooth profile is constrained to assume an involute shape during the loaded operation. Thus the new gear profile assures conjugate motion at all points along the line of action. The new profile is found to result in a more uniform static transmission error compared to not only standard involute profile but also modificated profile therby contributing to the improvement of vibration and noise characteristics of the gear.

  • It needs to accumulate a store of know-how on the design, precision processing and appraisement for metering pump which is a kind of gear pump fer synthetic fibers. But the period and cost fur development is not effective, because designers experience many trial and error for the pump design and manufacturing process. Therefore, in order to curtail the period and cut down expenses, the analysis and simulation system is required for a designed metering pump. In this study, the pump simulation software was developed with the visual C++ language and the image processing algorithm, and was investigated through a discharge test for the planetary gear type metering pump.

유한요소법에 의한 전위치차의 강도해석 (Strenth analysis gear by finite element method)

  • In the paper, it was attempted to verify how the strength around fillet area of shifted gear would be affected by variables such as number of teeth, shifted value, and diametral pitch. Thereafter, the Lewis' tooth factor of the shifted gear was computed in terms of previously mentioned variables in order to observe the characteristics of stress change related from tooth factor and tooth number with the parameter of shifted values and diametral pitches. From the results of quasi-theoretical values by Finite Element Method(F.E.M.)and experimental values through the photo-elastic tests, the followings were identified. The more the number of gear teeth increased, the more the profile of the tooth became close to that of rack, and accordingly the stresses in the fillet area decreased significantly in certain range. Furthermore, as the shifted value and pressure angle increase the stresses tend decrease. Moreover, the stresses analyzed by F.E.M. in the filled area became around 1.22 times larger than the stresses computed by Lewis' form factor, and this is supposed as on influence of the stress concentration in fillet area.

  • This study proposed a technique for inverse problem, linear approximation of contact position and loading in single and double meshing of spur gear, using 2-dimension model considered near the tooth by root stress. Determine root stress is carried out for the gear tooth by finite element method and boundary element method. Boundary element discretization near contact point is carefully performed to keep high computational accuracy. And from those estimated results, the comparing estimate value with boundary element method value was discussed.

  • In this paper, dynamic behavior of a two stage gear train system is analyzed. This system consists of three shafts supported by ball bearing at the ends of them and two pairs of spur gear sets. For exact analysis, the meshing tooth pair of gears is modeled as spring having time-dependent meshing stiffness and damping. The result of this analysis is compared to that of analysis using other model of spring having mean mesh stiffness. The effect of the excitation force by the imbalance of a rotor of a motor on the vibration of a gear train system is also analyzed. Finally, the change of a natural frequency of the whole system due to the change of an angle between three shafts is compared in each case, and from this analysis, the avoiding angle for design is advised.

  • Though the research and the development in the field of machine tool was focused on high precision and high speed machine these days, traditional gear reduction device has been used to increase the cutting force which was transmitted from power source, motor In this study, analysis of 2 step gear reducer used in machining center spindle was carried out by using APM WinMachine which is commercial software for the analysis of machine element and system. For the analysis of this device, first of all, the analysis of power source and the transmitting of it were carried out. Then, machine elements like gear, shaft, bearing, and the forth, was analyzed in the view point of life time, static strength, stiffness, fatigue failure, etc. Consequently, we can estimate them and introduce new idea of the design modification of reduction device by this study.

  • Hardened layer and compressive residual stress created by carburized treatment effect on bending strength of gear massively. Also, shot peening treatment improves the strength of carburized gear as it does the hardness and residual stress of surface layer. In these days shot peening techniques are welcomed as one of physical improvement ways around the surface of materials. It is used widely because qualitative analysis of shot peening has become possible and surface treatment can be done with very little costs comparaed to other surface improvement methods. Therefore this study investigates the effect of shot peening in surface shape and bending fatigue strength after doing many kinds of shot peening treatments, then doing fatigue test and also explained characteristics of shot peening gear.
