  • The serious game refers to the game which is combined game's fun with the peculiar object of the field including the education, medical treatment, public, and etc. By doing so, it can help that the learners are able to acquire the knowledge and technology of the relative field with joy. Currently, the serious game of the various fields is launched. However, there are many obstacles in Korea to develop the market. This paper is the research for showing how to overcome these problems. For this purpose, first, this research investigates the present condition of the serious game in the planning and development and marketing viewpoint. Second, the obstacles of the serious game are analyzed. Finally, the methods for solving these obstacles are shown. This paper is helpful for finding out the strategies for solving the obstacles without too much consideration of obstacle elements for serious game development.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze cases on teaching solutions exploration of Wythoff's game through using the analogy for the gifted elementary students, to suggest useful teaching methods. Students recognized structural similarity among problems on the basis of relevance of conditions of problems. The discovery of structural similarity improves the ability to solve problems. Although 2 groups-NIM game with surface similarity is not helpful in solving Wythoff's game, Queen's move game with structural similarity makes it easier for students to solve Wythoff's game. Useful teaching methods to find solutions of Wythoff's game through using the analogy are as follow. Encoding process helps students make sense of the game. It is significant to help students realize how many stones are remained and how the location of Queen can be expressed by the ordered pair. Inferring process helps students find a solution of 2 groups-NIM game and Queen's move game. It is necessary to find a winning strategy through reversely solving method. Mapping process helps students discover surface similarity and structural similarity through identifying commonalities between the two games. It is crucial to recognize the relationship among the two games based on the teaching in the Encoding process. Application process encourages students to find a solution of Wythoff's game. It is more important to find a solution by using the structural similarity of the Queen's move game rather than reversely solving method.

  • This paper uses counterexamples for solving reachability games. An objective. of the game we consider here is to find out a minimal path from an initial state to the goal state. We represent initial states and game rules as finite state model and the goal state as temporal logic formula. Then, model checking is used to determine whether the model satisfies the formula. In case the model does not satisfy the formula, model checking generates a counterexample that shows how to reach the goal state from an initial state. In this way, we solve many of small-sized Push Push games. However, we cannot handle larger-sized games due to the state explosion problem. To mitigate the problem, abstraction is used to reduce the state space to be che cked. As a result, unsolved games are solved with the abstraction technique we propose inthis paper.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a board game design activity for environmental education and to investigate how it affects high school students' environmental knowledge, environmental literacy, and creative engineering problem solving propensity. Twenty-five freshman and sophomore students belonging to the environmental club participated in this study. The board game activity was designed as 10 class hours lessons based on the engineering design process. The main data source of this study was pre-post students' conceptual maps of the environmental topics (global warming or ecosystem destruction) to measure the background knowledge on the topic. In addition, the environmental literacy measurement questionnaire and the creative engineering problem solving propensity questionnaire were collected before and after the activity. The result shows that the number of environment-related words described by the students on the post-concept map increased compared to the pre-concept map. In addition, the environmental literacy score and the creative engineering problem-solving propensity score increased significantly after performing the board game design activity. The results show that environmental lessons using board game design activities can help student develop various competencies in a good way. As above, research that combines board games and secondary education must be activated, and a new educational method and systemic support for in-service teachers who want to apply it to science classroom is required.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify differences between the college students communication pattern and problem-solving ability according to the degree of their internet game addiction. Data were obtained through 295 respondents from the college students in Seoul, Kyungsang and Junra Provinces and analyzed by one-way ANOVA. The findings are as follow: First, respondents has some significant differences in communication pattern according to the degrees of the internet game addiction. Second, the high level of addiction group shows the less functional communication pattern such as placating, blaming, irrelevant stance. Third, faced with the problem, the high level of addiction group has a tendency to use more negative problem-oriented, impulsive and careless-style, avoidance-style than rational problem solving style.

  • It is known that two-person zero-sum game with vector payoff can be reduced to a multiple objective linear programming. However, in this case, solutions for the game nay not be one, but many, In many cases in reality, one may need only one solution rather than all solutions. This paper develops a method to find a practical solution for the game by linear programming.

  • Kodu made by MS is a new 3D visual programming language made specifically for creating games. This language is based on creativity, problem-solving methods, and storytelling. So, it is very suitable for game programming education for kids. In this paper, we designed learning method to develop games based on elementary school students' creative thinking. The instruction was given to 27 6-grade elementary school students in 30 hours. And we applied the learning method in class. Also, we analyzed the changes in the learners' creative thinking and the learning effects of game programming.

  • Based on the love styles theory used in psychology, this paper classifies users(Passionate Love, Game-playing Love, Friendship Love, Practical Love, Possessive Love, Altruistic Love) and investigates satisfaction with the motivation for using TikTok love videos(Entertainment, Social Relationship, Love skills-learning, Self-verification, Problem-solving) according to the theory of use and satisfaction. First, 414 users were selected to conduct TikTok surveys to collect data. Then, through the analysis of the research results, among the six love types, game-playing type and possessive type have a positive (+) impact on entertainment motivation and love skill-learning motivation. Game-playing type also have a positive (+) impact on social relationship motivation and self-verification motivation. In addition, altruistic type and possessive type are also factors to strengthen the motivation of self-verification. The altruistic type, possessive type and practical type will improve the problem-solving motivation. Finally, through hierarchial multiple regression analysis, it is confirmed that game-playing love type, entertainment motivation, love skill-learning motivation and self-verification motivation can improve user satisfaction. The above results enrich the research of user classification as well as providing inspiration for improving the quality and communication efficiency of TikTok's video and enhancing user experience.

  • This paper aims to propose the educational concept and design model of a Smart Board Game appropriate for lower elementary grade students. The Smart Board Game refers to a hybrid, or 'convergent', game format based on the offline format of the conventional board game augmented through the use of smart devices. The substantive aspects of this game format utilize the procedural deduction and problem-solving skills applicable in storytelling methodologies and games, in order to generate and propose contents ideal for the educational environment. The development of the Smart Board Game is conducted through the following stages. First, the study analyzes a number of Smart Board Games currently popular in Korea and abroad, based on identification of the key components and processes of the board game format. The subsequent review of the science curriculum for lower elementary grades aims to determine the aspects conducive for application to Smart Board Games. Lastly, the theoretical framework outlined through the previous stages is used as the basis for the proposal of a detailed model of contents for the smart board game concept.

  • The paradigm of the human experience through computer as a medium is moving from cultural interface to cultural software. Mod represents this paradigm shift in digital game culture. Until now, Digital game play focused on the immersive agency in the process of achieving the goals of the game. On the other hand, In Mod, play focus on generative agency in the process of creating and solving problems in game world. Through Mod, original game perceived as transformable data and creative material. Transformation and generation of such a game content through the user's Mod presents a sustainable model of the digital game.
