  • We look at the initial stage of Meta (previous Facebook)'s new metaverse platform and investigate its platform design in pre-launch and ignition life stage. From the Rocket Model (RM)'s theoretical logic, the results reveal that Meta firstly focuses on investing in key content developers by acquiring virtual reality (VR), video, music content firms and offering production support platform of the augmented reality (AR) content, 'Spark AR' last three years (2019~2021) for attracting high-potential developers and users. In terms of three matching criteria, Meta develops an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered translation software, partners with Microsoft (MS) for cloud computing and AI, and develops an AI platform for realistic avatar, MyoSuite. In 'connect' function, Meta curates the game concept submitted by game developers, welcomes other game and SNS based metaverse apps, and expands Horizon Worlds (HW) on VR devices to PCs and mobile devices. In 'transact' function, Meta offers 'HW Creator Funding' program for metaverse, launches the first commercialized Meta Avatar Store on Meta's conventional SNS and Messaging apps by inviting all fashion creators to design and sell clothing in this store. Mata also launches an initial test of non-fungible token (NFT) display on Instagram and expands it to Facebook in the US. Lastly, regarding optimization, especially in the face of recent data privacy issues that have adversely affected corporate key performance indicators (KPIs), Meta assures not to collect any new data and to make its privacy policy easier to understand and update its terms of service more user friendly.

  • As the prevalence of mobile platforms, expanding digital content production and also increasing interest about the serious game. However, existing educational serious games are short of application of educational function and lower effectiveness that not linked with off-line education. In this paper, we developed an educational serious game 'Rice-Mimi Adventure' for children based Tablet PC. The Games are designed five steps by four elements that storytelling, playing, music and cooking. Specially, players interaction between characters should be increase their own concentration and interest. For the effectiveness verification that linked education of on/off-line, experiment to 126 students of 3,4th grade in Choenan. A result shows positive data that on/off-line linked education using Tablet PC and effectiveness of game contents applied design factors. For this work, we should find effective class and teaching method using digital contents in off-line education for children.

  • Since the development of NCS-based curriculum in field of game education is not well studied, so we carried out research on the curriculum development of game contents department of Kimpo University as the first study to link game education and NCS. In order to develop the NCS-based game education course, we analyzed the game industry environment and conducted a demand survey on the game industry officials to derive the vocational basic subjects required for game contents creation. In addition, we analyzed the types of manpower training by using on-site experts (SME). SME also designed the NCS curriculum by matching the manpower type comparing with NCS classification and capacity unit, analyzing the usefulness of each Capacity unit, and finally, by arranging each NCS and non-NCS subjects by semester. This research is meaningful as the first study linking NCS and game content creation, and it will be a reference for other education institutions planning game education course based on NCS. It also can be used as a basic material for researching game education quality management (CQI) as well as improvement methods for future game education courses.

  • Recently, various media such as broadcasting, movies, and mobile converge with game elements, expanding the contents and expanding the area. This study focuses on the gamification convergence contents. Among them, we examine the case of mobile application live quiz show by applying the formal elements of the game mentioned by Tracy Fullerton. The elements have all the formal elements of the game, which led to the conclusion that they lead the audience to immersion based on the play characteristics of the game. This can be attributed to the elements of the game that have penetrated into the contents, and it can be reinterpreted, and the directions of new contents can be presented, which is industrially, culturally and academically significant. This study focuses on the industrial and cultural achievements created by contents, and plans and prospects new content that balances play and usefulness.

  • In the area of mobile game, the job of data analysis is very important. As the mobile game market is being expanded, the characteristics of the market have been so much changed, that the contents updating and marketing strategy should be built on thorough understanding and analysis result of the gamers' needs and their play pattern. Thus the importance of the mobile game management system can not be overemphasized. However, in practice, most of the mobile game companies are small scale, and they have intrinsic problem to provide successful game service to user with a dedicated operating team. To overcome these problems, this paper suggests an efficient mobile game management system based on our already developed mobile game. And the effectiveness of our system is illustrated by our case examples such as prompt response to user question or refund request. Our proposed system also played an important role to plan additional contents update, providing scientific data analysis result on user's play pattern and purchase trend.

  • The procedural generation algorithm is an algorithm that automatically generates a content to be used in a game by repeatedly executing a series of rules. As the size of the game increases, the amount of content used in the game increases. Accordingly, artificial intelligence research is actively conducted to automatically generate game contents using game artificial intelligence such as procedural generation. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to create 3D game world using procedural generation. The proposed algorithm generates a two-dimensional contour in which the path is naturally connected using Perlin-Noise whose noise is gradually changed. A three-dimensional Height-Map is created based on the generated two-dimensional contour lines. The generated Height-Map show that the shape of the map is normal and that the player is able to move around all the sections as in the game world created by hand. In the future, we will improve the performance of algorithms and apply them to game.

  • With the rapid development of media environment and contents production technology, the era of multi-platform convergence transmedia has emerged, and communication method through trans media contents has attracted attention. Transmedia content refers to the concept of translating individual content into multi-platforms, which creates an expanded worldview of convergence. In addition, the interaction generated in this process is very important and difficult to control in the progress of the content. In this paper, we focused on the combination of transmedia content and gamification concept as a solution, and based on the 'MDA framework' which is a theoretical system of analysis and approach for implementing game design, We looked at the structure. It is expected that a review of the fundamental game design structure, which establishes a prediction system of value and fun experiences through the balance of technology and emotions, will be helpful as a basis for designing trans media contents.

  • Recently, interest in metaverse, which creates new value in the real world, has increased. In order to make it easy to experience such a metaverse, we have developed an experiential metaverse AR game in which users take the lead in exploring the environment and enjoying content based on landmarks. Important features of the metaverse include connectivity with the real world, interactivity, and digital currency. The game seeks to extend daily life through AR and satisfies interaction through real-time chat and team competition. Finally, digital currency is built through a store system. It is implemented as a mobile game and can be accessed at any time if there is a smartphone, increasing accessibility.

  • A game designer is the initial design of the quest based on narrative. It is important that to predict game character of play experience to establish these static content. This paper deal with player's affective interaction distinguishing among game characters are perform quest-play based on their characteristic status. To achieve this, First of all, previous studies regarding pre-visualization of narrative structure for other visual media are reviewed. Secondly, it is specified that quest-play experience and player's cognitive behavior. At last, these features of status by character were pre-visualized with QUG(Quest Unit Graph), which could be represented differences in precess of quest-play through analysis on world of warcarft game. Previous research is about of numerical balance in terms of character's achievement, whereas this study is meaningful that is proposed that visual model of quest-play interaction focused on narrative structure to predict game designer's architecture of quest experience.
