John Carmack who invented the 3D games let us know about the great 3D world and because of the MIDP 2.0(Mobile Information Device Profilers entering, it is not a fame to achieve playing 3D games with a mobile device. The data offered by iResearch market consultation show that the figure of mobile game players all around the world will take a steady increase from 290 million in 2005 to 1030 million in 2008, and the market income will mount up from $10,200 million to $52.000 million.3D games will be a current, the most famous kind of mobile games. In this paper I design 3D application based on J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) and implement a freely removable 3D object which happened in a 3D scene by receiving the keyboard response of mobile device with WTK (Wireless Too.Kit) simulator.
Currently, virtual reality contents using VR images are spotlighted since they can be easily created and utilized. But because VR images are in a state of lack of interaction, there are limitations in their applications and usability. In order to overcome this problem, we propose a new method in which 360 degree panorama image and game engine are utilized to develop a high resolution of interactive VR service in real time. In particular, since the background image, which is represented by a form of panorama image, is pre-generated through a heavy rendering computation, it can be used to provide a immersive VR service with a relatively small amount of computation in run time on a low performance device. In order to show the effectiveness of our proposed method, an interactive game of a virtual zoo environment was implemented and illustrated showing that it can improve user interaction and immersion experience in a pretty good way.
Mobile game apps, which are popular in various mobile devices, tend to be power-hungry and rapidly drain the device's battery. Since a long battery lifetime is a key design requirement of mobile devices, reducing the power consumption of mobile game apps has become an important research topic. In this paper, we investigate the power consumption characteristics of popular mobile games with multiple threads, focusing on the inter-thread. From our power measurement study of popular mobile game apps, we observed that some of these apps have abnormally high-load threads that barely affect the user's gaming experience, despite the high energy consumption. In order to reduce the wasted power from these abnormal threads, we propose a novel technique that detects such abnormal threads during run time and reduces their power consumption without degrading user experience. Our experimental results on an Android smartphone show that the proposed technique can reduce the energy consumption of mobile game apps by up to 58% without any negative impact on the user's gaming experience.

In aspect of HCI(Human Computer Interaction) gameplay is the procedure to solve the problem that gamers encounter in order to generate or discover a new rule to achieve gamers' goal. The goal of this research is to investigate the structure and understand the gameplay in aspect of affordance from ecological psychology rather than the traditional problem solving theory. This research selects App. game based on smart phone. Expert gamers participated in this experiment. We record all gameplay using audio and video device. We conducted protocol analysis as qualitative method based on the verbal report and action protocol during game playing. As result, gameplay based on affordance includes selection and relation. We found that subjects selected one thing at once with attention. Moreover, we found that there were two behaviors : exploratory action and performatory action. We believe that exploration, action, and transformation for affordance appear. The result of this research imply to suggest design guideline for game design methodology when designers develop game.
The purpose of this study was to enhance the factors of the purchase intention of a mobile game for applying existing. For this study, an exploratory analysis was conducted on 40 ordinary peoples to survey through open-ended questionnaires. After that, the factors was examined by 30 experts. finally, closed-ended survey was conducted to confirm the validity and Reliability Verification. As a result, the factors have been identified with 9. From among these, 2 factors were a Newly derived -The factors of a innovation service and device- Through this study, This research will be useful to provide The basis for extended studies of Marketing, Game-development, Market analysis, etc
The purpose of this paper is to identify the significance of heterogeneity in multi-player VR games. Heterogeneity is a concept of multi-player mode that a game uses the immersive VR and non-immersive system at the same time. As immersive VR device has become more commercial, multi-player VR games try to use heterogeneity strategically. is the best example to explain a new phenomenon, so this paper analyses by using a revised and reinforced MDA framework. As a result, we can find heterogeneity concept not only in the separation of player's interface, but also in the division of play patterns and experiences within a game itself.
The wide-spread use of the broadband Internet service makes the cloud computing-based gaming service possible. A game program is executed on a cloud node and its live image is fed into a remote user's display device via video streaming. The user's input is immediately transmitted and applied to the game. The minimization of the time to process remote user's input and transmit the live image back to the user and thus satisfying the requirement of instant responsiveness for gaming makes it possible. However, the cost to build its servers can be very expensive to provide high quality 3D games because a general purpose graphics system that cloud nodes are likely to have for the service supports a single 3D application at a time. Thus, the server must have a technology of 'realtime multiple rendering' to execute multiple 3D games simultaneously. This paper proposes a new architecture of 2-tier servers of clouds nodes of which one group executes multiple games and the other produces game's live images. It also performs a few experimentations to prove the feasibility of the new architecture.
Today, the field that actively utilizes HMD, which is a representative implementation device of virtual reality, is game. We have frequently used interface design using metaphor to user interface of HMD based virtual reality game. The purpose of this study is to find out the metaphor types that appear in the game interface of the virtual reality FPS genre of HMD devices, which is a new medium. As a result of research, the metaphor types appearing on multiple interfaces have navigation, predictability-based, familiarizing, and physical world metaphor in terms of information perception and predictability-based and familiarizing metaphor in term of control action. It is considered possible to construct a correct mental model. It is expected that the stability-based metaphor to prevent user mistakes and the presentation metaphor to identify the identity of information space will be needed in the future.

With the rapid growth of recent wireless mobile computing application technology and handheld mobile terminal device development technology, one of the big issue in these fields is to design online games in wireless mobile ad hoc network environment. Online games in mobile computing environment have lots of constraints for developing online games because mobile terminals have many limitations such as low performance of processor, limited memory space, small bandwidth of wireless communication, and confined life of battery power. Therefore, most of mobile games are restrictive in the function of online and multi-play up to date. In this paper, the online MMORPG game, capable of multi-play with many other mobile users using mobile terminals in wireless mobile computing environment, is designed and implemented. Proposed mobile online game uses bluetooth to construct temporary wireless mobile ad hoc network with other mobile clients, and designed to carry out online MMORPG game with these clients. It also supports multi-play among them.
Recently there has been an increasing interest on tangible games in which human motions are recognized rather than the handling of keyboards and mouses. Such games require a motion controller for recognizing the motions of users. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of values of accelerator sensors which are generated by a user who perform a tennis swing while holding a smartphone with his/her hand, and propose a method for motion recognition based on DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform). The proposed method enables a smartphone to serve as a motion controller, so that a user can enjoy a tangible tennis game without eliminates a need for buying the device. We developed a tennis game prototype using the proposed method. To our experiment, our method showed a high recognition rate and the usefulness in the game.
