  • In models of imperfect competition of deregulated electricity markets, the key task is to find the Nash equilibrium(NE). The approaches for finding the NE have had two major bottlenecks: computation of mixed strategy equilibrium and treatment of multi-player games. This paper proposes a payoff matrix approach that resolves these bottlenecks. The proposed method can efficiently find a mixed strategy equilibrium in a multi-player game. The formulation of the m condition for a three-player game is introduced and a basic computation scheme of solving nonlinear equalities and checking inequalities is proposed. In order to relieve the inevitable burden of searching the subspace of payoffs, several techniques are adopted in this paper. Two example application problems arising from electricity markets and involving a Cournot and a Bertrand model, respectively, are investigated for verifying the proposed method.

  • An important application domain for online services is an interactive, multi-player game. In recent, many increase of users that use on-line services through networks have caused a heavy load to the server. In this paper, we propose a MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) distributed game server using flayer-Cell. Our method provides efficient solution of a MMORPG distributed game server for large numbers of users. It is shown through the experiments that our method outperforms existing methods in terms of memory utilization rate and processing speed.

  • An ansemble of N players arranged in a circle play a spatially dependent Parrondo game B. One player is randomly selected to play game B, which is based on the toss of a biased coin, with the amount of the bias depending on states of the selected player's two nearest neighbors. The player wins one unit with heads and loses one unit with tails. In game A' the randomly chosen player transfers one unit of capital to another player who is randomly chosen among N - 1 players. Game A' is fair with respect to the ensemble's total profit. The games are said to exhibit the Parrondo effect if game B is losing and the random mixture game C is winning and the reverse-Parrondo effect if game B is winning and the random mixture game C is losing. We compute the exact mean profits for games B and C by applying a state space reduction method with lumped Markov chains and we sketch the Parrondo and reverse-Parrondo regions for $3{\leq}N{\leq}6$.

  • A 3D game plays in fast screen conversion and the objects a partner with camera visual field. Shall recognize a threat of the opponent objects that there is not to a visual field of a player in on-line games. In this paper, we proposed a method to efficiently search for the object in 3D game as used modified frustum culling. For the objects which a player cannot perceive, we accord the player and camera position and used a distance of the player and objects for count of the threatening objects. The method that proposed will play an important role in development of a 3D FPS games.

  • This paper presents a game theoretic approach for power transactions analysis in a competitive market. The considered competitive power market is regarded as PoolCO model, and the participating players are restricted by only two generating entities for simplicity in this paper. The analysis is performed on the basis of marginal cost based relations of bidding price and bidding generations. That is, we assume that the bidding price of each player is determined by the marginal cost when the bidding generation is pre-determined. This paper models the power transaction as a two player game and analyzes by applying the Nash eauilibrium idea. The generalized game model for power transactions covering constant-sum(especially zero-sum), and nonconstant-sum game is developed in this paper. Also, the analysis for each game model are Performed in the case studies. Here, we have defined the payoff of each player as the weighted sum of both player's profits.

  • To apply the player's experiences to the design process of the game levels set by the developer, gameplay behavior analysis is needed. The player's behavior which is different by how much he got experiences from the play has generally been studied by one computational approach based on numerical data and the other HCI(human-computer interaction) approach through heuristic analysis. For the analysis of the player's behavior with the level design patterns in FPS(first-person shooter) games, in this paper those methods are used to code 12 main types of action, which in turn is simply categorized into 5 kinds of behavior pattern. Along with it, an optimized visualization is proposed to intuitively compare the flow of behavior pattern with the time of playing game.

  • Studies on aesthetic experience in games mostly focus on engineering approach centered on structural determination of specific target within the game as well as humanistic·social approach in forms of artistic conversation on game play experience. This paper have established a theoretic guideline regarding the progress of aesthetic experience which allows analysis from the perspective of player experience acquired during game play. Based on such guideline, the study classifies cognitive data (Eye-Tracking, Playing Action, Facial Expression) on aesthetic experience and suggests the methods to measure such data. By deducing errors and points to be considered related to measuring methods through pilot tests, this study will contribute to the execution of empirical study focused on player perspective.

  • Social network game induces to continue participation among the players through asynchronous connection mode. This characteristic of SNG that is required active social connectedness and that is the main purpose of SNG. The player's behavior attributes related with social connectedness can be divided by the environmental conception. In this paper, the player's behavior is divided into two types : Social Connectedness(SC) and Non-Social Connectedness(NC). Each type is categorized in specific actions of players that is explored. Also, experimental data collected from player's playing-game is analyzed in the comparison of each behavior and the relation of playfulness. Those results have suggested the scope for designing a appliable model on SNG development and represented the guideline to verify speedy the massive player's behavior through simplifying the player's behavior derived in SNG play experiences.

  • A battle royale game is a multiplayer video game genre that blends the survival and exploration with last-man-standing gameplay. The genre has been hot in recent years and the 'Player Unknown's Battleground' produced by Korean enterprise PUBG had been the hottest during 2017 and the first half of 2018. However, a similar battle royale game 'Fortnite' became the game of the year in 2018 and the Player Unknown's Battleground sustains the predominance only in Korea and China. In this paper, we investigate the game structure of those two games on combat, survival, farming and charging elements, We also conduct a user survey on what might be the weak point of the Player Unknown's Battleground and why they choose Fornite among users played both but currently play Fortnite. The result shows that the Player Unknown's Battleground sustains the advantage on battle elements but creative charging policy and the efficient survival elements are the reasons of choosing Fortnite between the two.

  • This study analyzes the influence of player's social factors on their game play. By conducting a survey of 1,000 general public in Korea, this study aims to understand how game player's social factors influence on their game play behavior: whether they play a game or not, how long they play, and how frequent they play. The survey result suggests that there are some relations between player's social factors and their game play behaviour. The personal factors such as sex, age, monthly income level are seen to have influence on the length and frequency of their game play. Players' the social factors such as social status, social activity participation level and confidence level also have influence over their game play behaviours as well. And the influences are seen to be different depending on whether it's on online game or mobile game.
