  • We propose a guidance law based on pursuit-evasion game solutions, and analyze its performance. The game solutions are obtained from the pursuit-evasion game solver developed by Tahk. The initial value of the game solution is used for guidance, and then the pursuit-evasion game is solved again at the next time step. In this respect, the proposed guidance laws are similar to the approach of model predictive control. The proposed guidance method is compared with proportional navigation guidance for a pursuit-evasion scenario, in which the evader always tries to maximize the capture time. According to the comparison, it has larger a capture set than ones of proportional navigation guidance law.

  • This paper contains the implementation of a game as a feature of a package tour management application with the Digital Game-based Learning approach that helps tourists learn about tourism spots. The game is written in Java language for an Android smartphone that is designed to be integrated with Content Management System (CMS) to manage the game's contents and assets. The game contains one tourism spots introductory level and five quiz game levels with each having a reward (points) and punishment (time penalty) system, then summed the results to obtain the total score from all levels. The total score will determine a tourist's performance and be listed on an online leaderboard to increase competitiveness among tourists. The conducted performance evaluation of the game shows satisfactory results of 0.9 seconds of response time from the database to the game. Implementing the game presented in this paper will potentially reduce the burden of the tour guide and increase the efficiency of managing the tour group.

  • Online game servers usually has been using the static thread pool system. But this system is not fit for huge online game server because the overhead is always up-and-down. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest the new algorithm for huge online game server. This algorithm is based on the prediction-based dynamic thread pool system. But it was developed for web servers and every 0.1 seconds the system prediction the needed numbers of threads and determine the thread pool size. Some experimental results show that the check time of 0.4 seconds is the best one for online game server and if the number of worker threads do not excess or lack to the given threshold then we do not predict and keep the current state. Otherwise we apply the prediction algorithm and change the number of threads. Some experimental results shows that this proposed algorithm reduce the overhead massively and make the performance of huge online game server improved in comparison to the static thread pool system.

  • We propose guidance laws based on a pursuit-evasion game. The game solutions are obtained from a pursuit-evasion game solver developed by the authors. We introduce a direct method to solve planar pursuit-evasion games with control variable constraints in which the game solution is sought by iteration of the update and correction steps. The initial value of the game solution is used for guidance of the evader and the pursuer, and then the pursuit-evasion game is solved again at the next time step. In this respect, the proposed guidance laws are similar to the approach of model predictive control. The proposed guidance method is compared to proportional navigation guidance for a pursuit-evasion scenario in which the evader always tries to maximize the capture time. The capture sets of the two guidance methods are demonstrated.

  • Known as "The Ninth Form of Art", video game is a form of hypermedia art rising in response to the rapid development of modern technology, with millions of fans worldwide. From the perspective of the game market, those games that have high stickiness and a long operating cycle usually have abundant doujin works. As a spontaneous behavior of the players, doujin culture reflects the players' feelings towards and perception of the games, and it reacts upon the original game while relying on it, exerting a far-reaching influence on the operation of game products. We try to analyze the influences of doujin culture on game operation performance, hoping to provide game operators with some useful ideas.

  • In this study, an investigation was conducted into the influencing factors for the learning motivation of players in the game, including experience, vicarious experience, the need of achievement, the need of power, and mastery motivation. Then, a discussion was conducted regarding the role played by learning motivation, learning performance, and satisfaction with continuous use. A survey was conducted with 519 players, most at the intermediate gaming level in . As demonstrated by the results of this study, experience, vicarious experience, the need of power, and the mastery of motivation have significant positive association with the players' motivation of learning the game. Learning performance and satisfaction have a positive impact on the continuity of use. Additionally, the correlation between the need of achievement and learning motivation is insignificant. Overall, the research results confirm the significance of the social-cognitive theory relative to the learning motivation. Players began to transform, satisfied with their achievements in the game, as well as gradually evolving toward self-improvement to achieve satisfaction. It offers a new explanation and crucial reference for mastering the gaming trend among the contemporary players.

  • In this research, the effect of serious game on the task performance of adolescents with intellectual disabilities was investigated. A total of 31 students participated in a pre-post-with-control-group-design study. Results indicate that among the high-, moderate-, and low- ability students, the moderate-ability students gained the most from the game, in both speed and accuracy. From the results we can understand that game-based training has the most effect on the moderate level students. Also, the findings of this study show that serious games can be effective training tools for this population.
