  • As Korean online game market is saturated, Korean online game companies are trying to push into North American market. In order to succeed in foreign markets, understanding of user characteristics in that country is most important. In this study, investigation on user characteristics has been performed using user DB from A online game and B online game. They are currently in service by M company in America. Connection time, payment, and royalty are analyzed as a results. Based on the analysis, several advance strategies into North America are suggested. This results could be very useful for Korean MMORPG company to try to push into North America.

  • The Uncanny Valley phenomenon has already been deemed as theoretical, and the characteristics of game character expression elements for the Uncanny Valley phenomenon were recognized through case analysis as well. By theoretical consideration and case studies, it was found out that the influential elements of the Uncanny Valley phenomenon can be classified as two primary factors: character surface treatment and facial expression animation. The prepared experimental materials and adjectives were measured to be Five-Point Likert Scale. The measured results were evaluated for both influence and comparative analysis through essential statistical analysis and Repeated Measuring ANOVA in SPSS. The conclusions which were drawn from this research are as follows: The surface treatment of characters did not substantially affect the Uncanny Valley phenomenon. Instead, character's expression animation had a significant impact on the Uncanny Valley phenomenon, which also led to another conclusion that the facial expression animation had an overall deeper impact on Uncanny Valley phenomenon compared with character's surface treatment. It was the unnatural facial expression animation that controlled all of the independent variables and also caused the Uncanny Valley phenomenon. In order for game characters to evade the Uncanny Valley phenomenon and enhance game immersion, the facial expression animation of the character must be done spontaneously.

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the consumption patterns of the MZ generation in relation to eSports and traditional professional sports, focusing on the similarities and differences in spending behavior on game items and professional sports viewing. Research design, data, and methodology: The research utilizes a comparative analysis of eSports and professional sports consumption trends within the MZ generation. Data was collected through surveys targeting MZ generation consumers and analyzed using statistical methods to assess the impact of consumption behaviors on spending. The study particularly focuses on the expenditure behaviors in game items (eSports) versus traditional sports viewing expenses. Results: The analysis revealed that the MZ generation displays distinct consumption behaviors between eSports and traditional sports. eSports consumption is characterized by higher spending on in-game items, driven by personalization and competitive advantages, whereas spending on professional sports viewing is influenced by fan loyalty and event participation. Conclusions: The findings underscore the growing economic significance of eSports, driven by the unique consumption behaviors of the MZ generation. These insights suggest that the eSports industry should continue to adapt its strategies to capitalize on this trend, while traditional sports organizations may need to innovate in engagement strategies to maintain consumer interest and expenditure.

  • The character is one of most important interest-element in role playing game genres since it shows the individuality. In general cases, game players allocate points to talent clauses that they choose. However, it is not easy to provide the suitable character-growing to players in generic system since the cases are too simple and based on just humans choices. In this paper, we propose the character growing system based on the player type inference module. Growth morphology is determined by player's behavior or type. The determination is based on petri-net. Our experimental results and analysis show that our proposed approach is suitable for character-growing system.

  • In this work, we review the routing models that use game theoretical methodologies. A very common assumption in the analysis and development of networking algorithms is the full cooperation of the participating nodes. Most of the analytical tools are based on this assumption. However, the reality may differ considerably. The existence of multiple domains belonging to different authorities or even the selfishness of the nodes themselves could result in a performance that significantly deviates from the expected one. Even though it is known to be extensively used in the fields of economics and biology, game theory has attracted the interest of researchers in the field of communication networking as well. Nowadays, game theory is used for the analysis and modeling of protocols in several layers, routing included. This review aims at providing an elucidation of the terminology and principles behind game theory and the most popular and recent routing models. The examined networks are both the traditional networks where latency is of paramount importance and the emerging ad hoc and sensor networks, where energy is the main concern.

  • This study used data of soccer match 5170 games from 1950 to 2008 in five European football professional leagues. We compared average of SGPG (scored goal per game) in each two and three points of win. And we compared average of SGPG in each leagues. In order to predict PtsG (points per game), we executed regression analysis using SGPG and LGPG (lossed goal per game). Finally, We applied regression analysis to a K-league.

  • This study analyzes MMORPG in user's desire perspective and tried to find specific motivation factors. In research result, character has been separated in user character, another user character, boss monster and support character. And character's factor analysis yielded three factors: visual attraction, psychological propensity and competence. The result of the regression analysis about character's motivation factor show that it is significantly different that motivation level and motivation factors from each character. This finding implies that specific motivation factors can serve to make strategy for motivate user's game playing.

As the media like games, SNS meets 6 classic game features. After the Tatradic analysis, Expressive and manipulation rules move SNS paidia direction, player's effort and negotiable outcome are obsolesced. Player's attachment is enhanced and in SNS, the tradition of MUD retrieves abstract ground with representative expression. As following result, SNS is able to extend its own area to the player's creative world for the possible. SNS is the media like games.
