An experimental study on the characteristics of Gifford-McMahon cryocooler (Gifford-McMahon 극저온 냉동기의 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • To achieve good cryogenic circumstances by Gifford-McMahon cryocooler, we have to constitute optimal conditions with various factors for G-M cryocooler. In this study, cool-down characteristics were presented with some factors using brass matrix mesh (1st stage) and Pb ball (2nd stage) as regenerator materials for the heat exchangers. The effects of the variations of Helium gas pressure and cycle frequency on the cooling capacity of G-M cryocooler are investigated experimentally. The presented results could be summarized as follows : 1) As the steady state pressure increases, 'no load temperature' decreases but cooling capacity increases. 2) It is confirmed that the characteristics of the specific heat of the regenerator materials agree well with the cool-down characteristics of 10 K cryocooler.

Analysis on the Pumping Characteristics of a Commercial Cryopump (상용 크라이오펌프의 배기특성 분석)

  • The pumping characteristics of a commercial UHV cryopump with a G-M refrigerator for various gases were investigated. The pumping speeds as a function of pumped amount of $H_2,\; D_2,\; He,\; Ar,\; N_2$, CO and the pumping capacity of $N_2$ were measured and the trend was theoretically analyzed. The spectrum change of the residual gas was also investigated during cyropump operation.

  • Twenty-two allergy-induced aromatics in children were analyzed using a gas chromatography flame ionization detector (GC-FID) and gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GC-MSD). Analytes were extracted using an automatic Soxhlet extractor and centrifuged for 10 min in a fast freezing centrifuge, and the supernatant was transferred into a 2 mL vial and injected in split mode. Under the established conditions, the calibration curve showed linearity with a correlation coefficient of 0.996 or more. A wide range of sensitivity of 6.7 to 1,859,839 depending on the device characteristics and detector used was shown. The detection limit of the device was 0.0032 to $0.0335{\mu}g/mL$, and the maximum detection limit was less than $0.1{\mu}g/mL$. The detection limit of the method ranged from 0.0033 to $0.1161{\mu}g/mL$. In addition, the limit of quantification ranged from 0.0100 to $0.5422{\mu}g/mL$, with a level of precision ranging from 0.21 % to 4.89 % and a degree of accuracy ranging from 89 % to 111 %. The analytical method developed in this study was applied to commercial products.

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain the dynamic characteristics of an absorption refrigerator powered by solar energy by experiments. Since the absorption refrigerator power by solar energy should have the characteristics which is suitable for the intermittence and rarity of solar energy, not only the characteristics of the steady state operations but also the partial load and the transient operations should be considered. The minimum available temperature of the storage tank should be known, and the absorption refrigerator can be suitably selected for air-conditioning systems. In this study, the experimental data of the transient state for on-off and warming-up operations has been obtained. Also the experiments are performed which test the minimum available temperature of the storage tank. The results show that it takes 1 hour to get to the steady state of the absorption refrigerator, and the minimum available temperature of the storage tank is about $68^{\circ}C$, and show that in the partial load operations the performance of the absorption refrigerator is improved by applying the modified control method to on-off operations.

진공펌프 물 배기속도 측정 설비 구축

  • 현민지브이티(Genesis)는 중소기업청 중소기업개발지원사업의 일환으로 진행된 2014년도 구매조건부 신제품 개발사업에 선정되어 '극저온 G-M냉동기를 이용한 대용량 Cold Trap개발'과제를 수행하면서 32인치 급으로 수분에 대해서 30,000[L/s] 이상의 배기속도를 가지는 대형 CWP를 개발하고 있다. 1차년도(2015년) 목표는 80K에서 200W급 단단 G-M극저온 냉동기를 개발하는 것이고, 2차년도(2016년) 목표는 이를 장착하여 30,000[L/s]의 물 배기속도 능력을 갖춘 32인치(800mm)급 직부형(appendage) CWP를 개발하는 것이다. 여기에서 가장 큰 문제점은 CWP 시스템의 물 배기속도를 실제로 측정하는 것이다. 왜냐하면 지금까지는 물(H2O)이 가진 독특한 물리적 특성으로 인해 배기속도 측정에 많은 어려움이 있어 이론적으로 계산한 값을 사용해 왔다. (심지어 크라이오 펌프 제조사 조차도 실험하지 않고 이론적인 계산 값을 일반적으로 사용한다.) 그러나 최근 본 과제 외에 물 배기속도 측정에 관한 요구사례와 일부 크라이오 펌프 제조사에서 수행하고 있다는 보고가 있는 바, 실제 물배기속도 시스템을 구축하여 이론과 실제 사이의 차이와 측정의 어려움 등에 관해 규명하고자 하였다. 물 배기속도 측정 방법은 크게 2가지로 나눌 수 있다. 첫째, 시스템으로 흘리는 물의 양을 Liquid MFC를 이용하여 먼저 측정한 후 Vaporizer로 보내어 기화 시키며 배기속도를 측정하는 방법. 둘째, 물을 Vaporizer로 먼저 기화시킨 후에 High Temp. MFM으로 기체 유량을 측정하며 배기속도를 측정하는 방법이 그것이다. 이에 국내 최초로 두 가지 방법 모두를 사용하여 표준화 된 물 배기속도 측정 설비를 구축하였고, 20인치(500mm) 크라이오 펌프와 인라인(inline)형 CWP 모델에 대한 물 배기속도 측정을 성공적으로 완료할 수 있었다. 향후 본 시험 방법과 결과를 토대로 32인치(800mm) 직부형 CWP 모델에 대한 물 배기속도 측정시험을 수행하고자 한다.

Quality Characteristics of Spirits by Different Distillation and Filtrations (증류 및 여과 방법을 달리한 증류식소주의 품질 특성)

  • The objective of this research was to investigate the quality characteristics of the spirits by different distillation and filtrations. The contents of alcohol, total acids, and amino acids in rice mash were 15%, 0.25 g/100 mL, and 0.15 g/100 mL, respectively. The soluble content was $10^{\circ}Brix$, and pH was 4.6 in the rice mash. Lactic acid was the most prominent organic acid found in rice mash. The rice spirit distilled by a multi stage distiller showed the highest amounts of aroma compounds, such as fusel oil and esters. However, the filtration did not affect the amounts of total aroma compounds. It is suggested that a multi stage distiller may influence taste and flavor positively by enhancing the aroma and removing the impurities in rice spirits.

Analysis of growth environment for precision cultivation management of the oyster mushroom 'Suhan' (병재배 느타리버섯 '수한'의 정밀재배관리를 위한 생육환경 분석)

  • In this study, we analyze the growth environment using smart farm technology in order to develop the optimal growth model for the precision cultivation of the bottle-grown oyster mushroom 'Suhan'. Experimental farmers used $88m^2$ of bed area, 2 rows and 5 columns of shelf shape, 5 hp refrigerator, 100T of sandwich panel for insulation, 2 ultrasonic humidifiers, 12 kW of heating, and 5,000 bottles for cultivation. Data on parameters such as temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration, and illumination, which directly affect mushroom growth, were collected from the environmental sensor part installed at the oyster mushroom cultivator and analyzed. It was found that the initial temperature at the time of granulation was $22^{\circ}C$ after the scraping, and the mushroom was produced and maintained at about $25^{\circ}C$ until the bottle was flipped. On fruiting body formation, mushrooms were harvested while maintaining the temperature between $13^{\circ}C$ and $15^{\circ}C$. Humidity was approximately 100% throughout the growth stage. Carbon dioxide concentration gradually increased until 3 days after the beginning of cultivation, and then increased rapidly to approximately 2,600 ppm. From the 6th day, $CO_2$ concentration was gradually decreased through ventilation and maintained at 1,000 ppm during the harvest. Light was not provided at the initial stage of oyster mushroom cultivation. On the $3^{rd}$ and $4^{th}$ day, mushrooms were irradiated by 17 lux light. Subsequently, the light intensity was increased to 115-120 lux as the growth progressed. Fruiting body characteristics of 'Suhan' cultivated in a farmhouse were as follows: Pileus diameter was 30.9 mm and thickness was 4.5 mm; stipe thickness was 11.0 mm and length was 76.0 mm; stipe and pileus hardness was 0.8 g/mm and 2.8 g/mm, respectively; L values of the stipe and pileus were 79.9 and 52.3, respectively. The fruiting body yield was 160.2 g/850 ml, and the individual weight was 12.8 g/10 unit.

An Experimental Study of the 2-stage Gifford-McMahon Cryorefrigerator (2단 Gifford-McMahon 극저온냉동기의 특성실험)

  • Experimental results of two stage Gifford-McMahon cryorefrigerator are described. In-prototype experiments, drive mechanism is Scotch Yoke type driven by stepping motor, copper meshes and lead balls are used for regenerator's materials in the first stage and the second stage, respectively. To find optimal conditions of the cryopump, no load temperature and refrigeration capacity according to the variation of cycle frequency and operating pressure are measured, and the cool down and load characteristics at particular cycle frequencies are presented. In general, as the cycle frequency is lowered, no load temperature is dropped but refrigeration capacity is diminished. As the representative result, in a case that the cycle frequency is 70rpm and steady state pressure is 14 atm, no load temperature of second stage is lowered to 10.5K in 55 minuters, and in this situation the refrigeration capacity of the first stage is 42W at 80K, that of the second stage is 11 W at 20K.

Analysis of growth environment by smart farm cultivation of oyster mushroom 'Chunchu No 2' (병재배 느타리버섯 '춘추 2호'의 스마트팜 재배를 통한 생육환경 분석)

  • This study aims to report the results for the analysis of the growth environment by applying smart farm technology to "Chunchu No 2" farmers in order to develop an optimal growth model for precision cultivation of bottle-grown oyster mushrooms. The temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration, and illumination data were collected and analyzed using an environmental sensor installed to obtain growth environment data from the oyster mushroom cultivator. Analysis of the collected temperature data revealed that the temperature at the time of granulation was $19.5^{\circ}C$ after scraping, and the mushroom was generated and maintained at about $21^{\circ}C$ until the bottle was flipped. When the fruiting body grew and approached harvest time, mushrooms were harvested while maintaining the temperature between $14^{\circ}C$ and $18^{\circ}C$. The humidity was maintained at almost 100% during the complete growth stage. Carbon dioxide concentration gradually increased until 3 days after the beginning of cultivation, and then increased rapidly to almost 5,500 ppm. From the 6th day, carbon dioxide concentration was gradually decreased through ventilation and was maintained at 1,600 ppm during harvest. Light intensity of 8 lux was irradiated up to day 6 after seeding, and growth was then continued while periodically irradiating 4 lux light. The fruiting body characteristics of "Chunchu No 2" cultivated in the farmhouse were as follows: pileus diameter of 26.5 mm and thickness of 4.9 mm, stipe thickness of 8.9 mm, and length of 68.7 mm. The fruiting body yield was 166.8 g/850 ml, and the individual weight was 12.8 g/10 units.

Monitoring the Rate of Frozen Denaturation of Bovine Myosin by Competitive Indirect ELISA Method (Competitive Indirect ELISA를 이용한 Bovine Myosin의 동결 변성도 측정)

  • This study shows the application of Ci-ELISA method for monitoring the denaturation of myosin by the frozen treatment in order to differentiate thawed beef from chilled. Hanwoo M.Semitendinosus (n=25) was treated under the two different frozen process as follows; simple frozen treatment (Exp-1) at 4 different temperatures, -10, -20, -50 and $-80^{\circ}C$, respectively, and repeated thawing-refreezing treatment (Exp-2) stored at 4 different temperatures, -10, -20, -50 and $-80^{\circ}C$, respectively. Antibodies (Abs) were produced from rabbits immunized with myosin whole molecule (MWM) isolated from beef round, heavy meromyosin S-1 (S-1) and light meromyosin (LMM) prepared by digestion of MWM. Each immunoglobulin G (IgG) was separated from antiserum. At 6 month storage, IA of anti-MWM IgG for myosin was decreased to 32.67, 32. 23, 51.52 and 34.27% in Exp-1 and to 14.82, 15.61, 25.3 and 23.7% in Exp-2 at -10, -20, -50 and $-80^{\circ}C$, respectively (P<0.05). In Exp-1, the reactivities of anti-LMM IgG were decreased to 25.12, 21.42, 49.05 and 28.96%, and those of Exp-2 were to 11.88, 9.56, 20.63 and 12.64% at -10, -20, -50 and $-80^{\circ}C$, respectively, at 6 times thawing (P<0.05). Conclusively, myosin was denaturated by freezing treatment and LMM or myosin rod part might have suffered from more extreme demage than HMM S-1, and samples at $-50^{\circ}C$ were slightly injured less than others by freezing treatment.
