A comprehensive review for the selection of urban rail vehicle systems that best suit Gimpo railway line is taking place with consideration of the project area characteristics in light of line planning, passenger demand, supply of rolling stock, and railway construction and operation. Various aspects of vehicle systems including passenger demand on concerned lines, regional characteristics, vehicle types, and railway construction and operational settings should be taken into consideration. In addition, request for the introduction of customized vehicle systems reflecting the convenience of transit users such as wide and hospitable inner space, low noise, flexible operation of 2 to 4 car train-set and eye catching slim bridge piers is increasing. A study on alternatives to place an order to opt for optimum rolling stock systems considering line characteristics of Gimpo City's urban railway and future passenger demand while meeting the needs of Gimpo City has been conducted.

Among durability tests, the accelerated durability test has been widely used to evaluate the durability of vehicle structure and chassis pans in a shon period of time on the designed road which has severe surface conditions. However it increases the drivers fatigue mainly caused by the severe driving conditions. The drivers difficulty of maintaining constant speed and controlling the steering wheel reduces the reliability of test results. The durability test includes the position and distance sensing system for the recognition of the absolute and relative driving position, the driving control system for the control of whole driving circumstance, the emergency system for responding to system errors. AGVDS (Autonomous Guided Vehicle Driving System) was Proved to facilitate the development of now car projects. Therefore the AGVDS we propose will help make the fundamentals for all future traffic systems.

The beating phenomenon occurs because of various causes, when idle vibration was happened. In this study, the beating phenomenon was divided into several parameters and controlled by the parameter. It was hypothesized that the beating parameter is related to discomfort of idle vibration. The three-down one-up method was performed for evaluating discomfort of controlled vibrations, which is widely used in the field of psychophysics. As a result in pilot test, a subject responds beating vibration more discomfort than normal idle vibration. In the future, the study will be implemented to know how much the parameters of beating signal affect to the discomfort at idle vibration in passenger vehicle.

ISO/IEC 15118 is a standard for communications and services for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Although this standard deals only with data communication between an electric vehicle and a charge station, communication with the outside is essential for establishing an authentication system for vehicle certification and V2G service for electric power transmission. In this study, it was designed to verify the information of electric car charging infrastructure in electric power system through communication link between ISO/IEC 15118 electric vehicle model and IEC 61850 standard MMS protocol. This is demonstrated in the field so that the electric vehicle communication data is linked with the micro grid management system. This could be used as an element technology in other distributed power sources as well as electric cars in the future.

New concept rotary engine initial prototype has been developed. Engine motoring, compressor pressure and fuel combustion were tested for engine mechanism and operability check. Merits and demerits, applicable areas of the engine have been investigated against reciprocating and Wankel rotary engines. It was found that this engine is best fit for small aircraft and it is better than existing engines for motorcycle, portable and hybrid car Genset too.

Since the KTX start its service on April 1st of 2004, KTX increased its share up to 17.4% (2008). It's the 2nd after the passenger car share of 59.2% in the national transportation, but the gap is still wide. In addition, because of the rise of goods' and oil price, the share of intercity express bus is growing up. Nevertheless Korail is trying to improve the train schedule and develop internodal transit system, the number of passengers of KTX is remain flat. KORAIL should start and proceed the tasks below. - Analysis of the 5 year's operation of KTX since the year of 2004 to make plans for the steady growth - development of the KTX operation plan for expansion of railway - preparing the operation of additional passenger rail services on the mail line for newly introduced trains. - expansion of KTX's service area after the introduction of KTX-II - introduction of other new trains - examination for the action plans to promote marketing in main-line including refinement of the rate structure

The Friction Stir Weld (FSW) has been prevailing in the rolling stock manufacturers now a day especially in Europe and Japan, that will be an inevitable welding method in Korean domestic railway industry in the near future. The Welding Institute (TWI) in United Kingdom (UK), who has the right of international patents, invented FSW. To meet the recommendation of Cullen's Report for Ladbroke Grove Rail Inquiry (LGRI) in UK, the FSW is considering for the only alternative welding method to improve the aluminium welding quality, i.e. for improve unzipping defect and crashworthiness on car body in Europe Railways within Railway Safety Research Program.

Recently, since demands of energy saving and efficiency for electric railway system have been increased, the study for electrical operation system is needed. Therefore, case study according to increase of energy consumption, investigate the actual conditions of the operation of electric cars and lightings were analyzed. From the results therefore, it is found that the energy consumption of electric car is much more winter than summer, because heating for protect of the air pipe frozen. But the energy consumption of electric equipment of station office is much more summer than winer, the reason for air-conditioner. In future, according to outdoor air temperature and ridership, ,wish to study about system that can operate cold, block heater automatically.

Hologram that usually used in modern art performance and movie, is now also used in different area such as architecture, car design, IT, medicine, design and different types of multi-media art performance. This study is to analyze how hologram works in stage production and affect in variety types of art performance and also how it affects in future art performance.
