Microstructure Properties of Cement Matrix Exposed to High Temperature (고온에 노출 된 시멘트 매트릭스의 미세구조 특성)

  • To secure fundamental materials for the performance change in concrete structure damaged by fire, this study analyzed SEM and XRD of hardened cement depending on high temperature conditions. As a result, at more than 200℃, SEM and XRD were not observed because of dehydration of Ettringite; at more than 500℃, calcium hydroxide was rapidly decomposed; at more than 700℃, calcium oxide was found; at 1000℃, the highest peak point appeared.

  • Color filter is a fundamental and necessary component to make a full-color TFT-LCD, its quality intensively influence the performance of TFT-LCD in the application of Notebook Computer, Monitor and Television. Color filter in chromaticity also make an effect for human visual system and video enjoyment. Recently, mother glass size is enlarged for demand of large-size panels and new generation color .filter technology for large-size liquid crystal cell panels is also developed. Here, latest generation color filter technology in TFT-LCD will be discussed.

  • This paper presents several softcomputing techniques such as neural networks, fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms : Neural networks as brain metaphor provide fundamental structure, fuzzy logic gives a possibility to utilize top-down knowledge from designer, and genetic algorithms as evolution metaphor determine several system parameters with the process of bottom up development. With these techniques, we develop a pattern recognizer which consists of multiple neural networks aggregated by fuzzy integral in which genetic algorithms determine the fuzzy density values. The experimental results with the problem of recognizing totally unconstrained handwritten numeral show that the performance of the proposed method is superior to that of conventional methods.

  • The dc link voltage in a single-phase PV system has necessarily twice component of fundamental wave. It makes high THD in the grid current, and according to the problem, power quality is lower. This paper proposes the new method for removing ripple voltage. The performance was verified through computer simulation using MATLAB.

  • We find that institutional quality of an individual country was highly and significantly correlated with its economic performance in the euro area. We argue that governance reforms proposed at present do not suffice to resolving the fundamental problems of the EMU governance system unless disparities of institutional quality in member states are dissolved. Regarding regional integration, East Asia is far behind the Eurozone not only in institutional elements of the governance system but also in institutional quality at the level of individual nations.

  • Estimation of power system frequency is an important task because frequency deviation is a good indicator of the system abnormal operating conditions. The algorithms, curve fitting, technique using Taylor series, deviation of phasor angle of fundamental waveform using DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) and Prony method, are tested under operation of the frequency relaying by using EMTP MODELS. The performance of methods is compared with the simulation results.

  • In this paper, a modeling for the dynamic behavior of a train vehicle is suggested for the prediction of the braking characteristics. In the dynamic modeling, effects of the primary and secondary suspension elements are considered and interactions between two vehicles are also estimated. This study can offer some fundamental results for a further research to enhance the braking performance using active braking control.

  • Precise measurement of flowrate is considered as an important measuring factor in mechanical and chemical experiment. Although there are many methods to measure flowrate, Float type flowmeter is widely used because of its easy attachment to piping and high measuring precision. To design the precise float type flowmeter, much design information such as tapered-tube dimensions, float size, float shape and float material is required. In this paper, fundamental design theory for float type flowmeter according to the given flowrate range is suggested and compensation coefficients of volumetric and weight flowrate for water, R-113 and air are calculated.

  • RFID security and privacy issues have been intensively studied in the research field, the authentication between RFID reader and tag is the fundamental them. Most of the existing authentication protocols draw assumptions on classic primitives. Since tags have small capacities, the security mechanisms which are in use in computer networks and communication are not suitable. In this paper, we compare and analyze recent technical research on the problems of privacy and security. It consists of security mechanism, threats and performance evaluation, etc.
