CHB 인버터 셀의 데드타임 구현 방법 (Dead-Time Implementation Method for CHB Inverter Cells)

  • This study proposes a dead-time implementation method suitable for cell voltage control of a cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter. The PWM module of an existing microcontroller cannot generate a maximum voltage due to the dead-time effect when used as the cell controller of the CHB inverter. In the proposed method, the operation method of the PWM module was changed without using the dead time module included in the existing microcontroller, so that the cell output voltage can be increased to the maximum voltage without voltage discontinuity. During the maximum voltage generation period, the full turn-on state can be maintained without unnecessary switching. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed through an experiment.

  • 기존 X-ray용 인버터의 경우, 일반적인 Full-bridge 인버터를 사용하여 낮은 효율이 발생하기 때문에 1.6kW이상의 고전압 출력을 요구하는 X-ray를 사용할 수 없는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문은 X-ray 구동용 인버터의 높은 출력이 가능한 고전압 출력용 ZVS Phase-Shift Full Bridge 인버터를 제안한다. 기존의 X-ray 구동용 인버터를 사용할 경우에는 낮은 효율 및 높은 출력 전압을 발생 시킬 수 없기 때문에 X-ray 발생이 어려우며, 높은 출력을 발생시키기 위해서는 회로의 전체적인 부피가 커지고 제작단가가 증가하는 단점이 있다. 반면 제안된 회로는 X-ray 구동용 ZVS Phase-Shift Full Bridge 인버터로써, 영전압 스위칭을 통해 높은 효율로 인버터 구동이 가능하고, 높은 출력 전압을 발생 시킬 수 있기 때문에 회로의 소형화 및 고출력 X-ray 발생이 가능한 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 회로의 이론적인 특성을 분석하고 모의실험을 통해 확인하였으며, 1.6kW급 X-ray 구동 인버터 회로에 적용하여 실험을 통해 우수성을 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, a constant frequency phase shifting PWM-controlled voltage source full bridge-type series load resonant high-frequency inverter using the $4^{th}$ generation IGBT power modules is presented for innovative consumer electromagnetic induction heating applications, such as a hot water producer, steamer and super heated steamer. The bridge arm side link passive capacitive snubbers in parallel with each power semiconductor device and AC load side linked active edge inductive snubber-assisted series load resonant tank soft switching inverter with a constant frequency phase shifted PWM control scheme is evaluated and discussed on the basis of the simulation and experimental results. It is proved from a practical point of view that the series load resonant and edge resonant hybrid high-frequency inverter topology, what is called, DE class type, including the variable-power variable-frequency regulation function can expand zero voltage soft switching commutation area even under low output power setting ranges, which is more suitable and acceptable for newly developed induction heated dual pack fluid heaters. Furthermore, even the lower output power regulation mode of this high-frequency load resonant tank inverter circuit is verified so that this inverter can achieve ZVS with the aid of the single auxiliary inductor snubber.

  • This paper presents analysis of losses of switching device for full bridge inverter connected to grid. The losses are a dominant factor that judges efficiency of the system. The losses of switching device are divided to switching loss and conduction loss. They are can be estimated by analyzing periodic switching waveforms. The switching loss is generated at the point that turn-on and off. And the conduction loss is generated while the switch is on condition. The estimated losses of switch are compared to simulation result in this paper.

  • In this paper, dynamic overmodulation strategies are proposed for two phase full bridge inverter. The four step operation to use maximum voltage in limited DC link is described and minimum distance, same angle and minimum switching state overmodulation techniques are presented. The simple scalar arithmetic based algorithms are proposed to implement the overmodulation techniques. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

  • This paper deals with the output characteristics of resonant PWM inverter type X-ray generators connected to different DC power units i.e. a single phase full bridge rectifier, a three phase full bridge rectifier and a power storage unit(PSU). The quality of X-ray beam depend on the pulsation waveforms of DC voltage supplied to the X-ray tulbe. In a X-ray generator, the waveforme of DC output voltage can be affected from hramonic distortion of DC input power. When a tube voltage waveform is distorded, the property of X-ray beam such as reproducibility, direcibility and doesage can be reduced. Therefore, we compared DC output waveforms and doesages with three thpe of DC power units and show the experimental results in this paper

  • As the screen size of LCD TV increases, an external electrode fluorescent lamp (EEFL) has been suggested to be applicable as backlight source for LCD TV. Since the EEFL has non-linear characteristics, which makes the analysis and design complicated. In this paper, the characteristics of the EEFL are investigated and a full-bridge RLC series-resonant inverter is analyzed and designed for EEFL backlight of 32-inch LCD TV. Finally, the experimental results are shown to validate the analysis and design.

  • 본 논문에서는 Buck Converter 동작 원리를 이용한 Full-Bridge Inverter를 제안하였다. 제안한 Full-Bridge Inverter는 왼쪽 브리지와 오른쪽 브리지의 구동 주파수를 각각 저주파와 고주파로 구동하여 Buck Converter의 동작과 유사하게 하였다. 동작은 두 가지 모드로 구분되며, 이로 인해 램프에 저주파수 구형파를 인가한다. 램프를 저주파수 구형파로 구동하여 음향공명현상을 피하게 되었으며, 고주파 스위칭으로 인덕터의 부피를 줄였다. 제안한 방법은 시뮬레이션을 통해 증명하였다.

  • In this paper, the static overmodulation is proposed for the 2-phase full bridge inverter. The overmodulation strategy increases a fundamental output voltage and improves a voltage utilization up to the maximum in the overmodulation range. To maintain a linearity of the relation between a reference voltage and a fundamental output voltage, this paper suggests a compensation voltage, whose magnitude or phase is modified to the proposed control scheme. Simulation and experimentation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

  • This paper is research result for a development of sapphire silicon ingot glowing(SSIG) PWM converter system for 80kW 10kA. The system include 3-phase AC-DC diode rectifier of input voltage AC 380V and 60Hz, DC-AC single phase full bridge PWM inverter of high frequency, AC-DC single-phase full wave rectifier using center-tapped of transformer for low voltage 8.0V and large current 10,000A of output specification, tungsten resistor load 0.1[$m{\Omega}$]. PWM switching frequency for IGBT inverter control set 30kHz.
