  • In this research, focusing on the public data access function and the communication function of SNS's, an educational program was implemented for the PC and mobile environments. The program offers functionality to share short messages with friends so that problems can be solved while communicating these messages back and forth. With each visiting page, a method for communication was provided, and each room had a announcements page, Q&A section, discussion forum, and file sharing space to facilitate more communication, and by adding the 'search for friends', and 'recommended friends' functionality, it was possible to study with friends and other unknown people using the program. The applications of the educational program were proposed through the analysis of survey results of elementary and high school students of the program.

  • This study examined the effects of the 'Friends of Nature' education program on multiple intelligence(MI) and emotional intelligence(EI or EQ). The 'Friends of Nature' activity was designed as an education program on the basis of the theories of multiple intelligence and emotional intelligence in order to develop MI and EI through real experiences in the nature. The subjects were 5-year-old kindergarten children, the education activities lasted for 7 months. Significant effects were found in the children's multiple and emotional intelligence between the control group and the activity group in some but not all areas of MI and EI. Consequently, the 'Friends of Nature' program can be said to have partially positive effects on the improvement of children's multiple and emotional intelligence.

  • With the rise of the Internet era, instant messaging is playing an increasingly important role in the entire Internet market. Nowadays, most of chat softwares on the market are designed for chatting with friends. Before joining a group chat, we must be invited by your friends. On certain occasions, it is very troublesome to invite lots of people quickly if people want to build a group chat temporarily. Therefore I developed a chat application for ad-hoc groups to solve the problem. Ad-hoc groups can be used for some specific occasions for example some large meetings and gatherings. People can create a group at any time any where and other people can join the group chat fast. People that include friends and strangers all can join a group chat by scanning the QR code without adding anyone as friends.

  • The purpose of this study is estimate the effects of treatment program as it stands for drug abusers in prison. For this study, 46 drug-related prisoner were surveyed in January, 2008 at Jinju prison which has provided special treatments for drug-related offenders. This study shows that the present treatment systems or programs don't work effectively than expected. Prisoner feel present programs won't be very helpfully after release. And they feel correction officers don't have enough concern about prisoners or treatment to them. The result also emphasizes that family members or friends' support and belief is essential to prevent recidivism and to decrease such a possibility. According to this survey result, special concern to youth abuser is necessary. And it can give more effectiveness when authorities provide more medical or physical treatments than just based on routine lecturing. Furthermore, small group treatments would be more successful comparing with large member group based program. Drug abusers want more experience study or work study programs. Finally authority's, family's, friends's and colleague's interest or concern toward prisoners could contribute to raise up the possibility of rehabilitation.

  • The present study explored the moderating roles of perceived responsiveness of SNS friends and self-esteem in the relationship between SNS use and perceived social support among college students. Using a panel owned by a research firm, a nationwide online survey was conducted (females N = 264, males N = 239). The results of regression analysis suggested that there is no significant main effect of SNS use but a significant main effect of perceived responsiveness of SNS friends. In addition, a three-way interaction effect was found among perceived responsiveness of SNS friends, SNS use, and self-esteem. This study contributes to elaboration of the extant research as well as providing practical implications to SNS-based intervention programs for college students' psychological well-being.

Data were analyzed by Chi-square test, t-test, and Fisher exact probability test using the SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. Results: After attending the peer gatekeeper training program, significant differences between the experimental group and the control group were found in existential spiritual well-being(t=2.80, p=.007) and interpersonal relationship with friends scores(t=2.67, p=.010). However, there was no statistically significant difference in suicide probability between the two groups.
