알루미늄 샌드위치 패널의 구조적 형상 및 진동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Shape and Vibrational Characteristics of Aluminum Sandwich Panel)

  • 본 연구에서는 실선에 적용된 알루미늄 하니콤 샌드위치 판 (AHSP)을 저자가 제안한 심재의 형상이 피라미드인 알루미늄 샌드위치 판의 구조적 특성 및 진동특성을 검토해 보았다. 알루미늄 피라미드 샌드위치 판(APSP)의 기초 자료로 쓰일 수 있게 심재의 각도변화, 높이변화 및 면재와 심재의 두께변화에 따른 구조적 특성을 검토한 결과 APSP가 강도 및 강성에서 우수함을 보였으며, 질량대비 큰 강성 때문에 고유진동수도 다소 크게 평가되었다.

  • New concept of LNG-FPSO ship with moonpool and bilge step in bottom is considered and investigated in the point of motion reduction and sloshing phenomena of the cargo and operation tanks. The cargo capacity of the ship of which principle dimensions is L x B x D x t(design) =270.0 x 51.0 x 32.32 x 13.7(m) 16K at 98% loading condition. The two moonpools and rectangular step at bilge part are setted up specially for getting the effect of motion decrease. For the motion analysis, linearized three dimensional diffraction theory with the simplified boundary conditions is used. The six-degree of freedom coupled motion responses are calculated for the LNG-FPSO ship. Viscous effects on the roll motion responses of a vessel are taken into account in this calculation program using an empirical formula suggested by Ikeda, Himeno and Tanaka is used. The case study for the moonpool size had been carried out by theoretical estimation and experimental method. For the optimization of the moonpool size and effect of the step, 9 cases of its size and with and without step are considered. From the results of calculation and experiment, it can be concluded that this designed LNG-FPSO ship have possibility to carry out her missions in the rough sea as for the owner's demand waves condition. The motion responses, especially roll motion, for the designed LNG-FPSO ship are much lower than those of another drillship and shuttle tanker and limit criterions are satisfied. For the check of the cargo tank and operation tank sizes we have performed sloshing analysis in the irregular waves which focuses on the pressure distribution on the tank wall and the time history of pressure and free surface for No.2 and No5. tanks of LNG-FPSO with chamfers. Finally we got the tank size which has no resonance and no impact pressure in all filling in the bow quartering and beam sea.

Effects of chemistry in Mars entry and Earth re-entry

  • This paper is the follow-on of a previous paper by the author where it was pointed out that the forthcoming, manned exploration missions to Mars, by means of complex geometry spacecraft, involve the study of phenomena like shock wave-boundary layer interaction and shock wave-shock wave interaction also along the entry path in Mars atmosphere. The present paper focuses the chemical effects both in the shock layer and on the surface of a test body along the Mars orbital entry and compares these effects with those along the Earth orbital re-entry. As well known, the Mars atmosphere is almost made up of Carbon dioxide whose dissociation energy is even lower than that of Oxygen. Therefore, although the Mars entry is less energized than the Earth re-entry, one can expect that the effects of chemistry on aerodynamic quantities, both in the shock layer and on a test body surface, are different from those along the Earth re-entry. The study has been carried out computationally by means of a direct simulation Monte Carlo code, simulating the nose of an aero-space-plane and using, as free stream parameters, those along the Mars entry and Earth re-entry trajectories in the altitude interval 60-90 km. At each altitude, three chemical conditions have been considered: 1) gas non reactive and non-catalytic surface, 2) gas reactive and non-catalytic surface, 3) gas reactive and fully-catalytic surface. The results showed that the number of reactions, both in the flow and on the nose surface, is higher for Earth and, correspondingly, also the effects on the aerodynamic quantities.

Mechanical analysis of cutout piezoelectric nonlocal nanobeam including surface energy effects

  • This manuscript tends to investigate influences of nanoscale and surface energy on a static bending and free vibration of piezoelectric perforated nanobeam structural element, for the first time. Nonlocal differential elasticity theory of Eringen is manipulated to depict the long-range atoms interactions, by imposing length scale parameter. Surface energy dominated in nanoscale structure, is included in the proposed model by using Gurtin-Murdoch model. The coupling effect between nonlocal elasticity and surface energy is included in the proposed model. Constitutive and governing equations of nonlocal-surface perforated Euler-Bernoulli nanobeam are derived by Hamilton's principle. The distribution of electric potential for the piezoelectric nanobeam model is assumed to vary as a combination of a cosine and linear variation, which satisfies the Maxwell's equation. The proposed model is solved numerically by using the finite-element method (FEM). The present model is validated by comparing the obtained results with previously published works. The detailed parametric study is presented to examine effects of the number of holes, perforation size, nonlocal parameter, surface energy, boundary conditions, and external electric voltage on the electro-mechanical behaviors of piezoelectric perforated nanobeams. It is found that the effect of surface stresses becomes more significant as the thickness decreases in the range of nanometers. The effect of number of holes becomes significant in the region 0.2 ≤ α ≤ 0.8. The current model can be used in design of perforated nano-electro-mechanical systems (PNEMS).

규칙파와 수평판의 비선형 상호작용에 의한 고차 조화항 발생 (Higher Harmonic Generation by Nonlinear Interaction between Monochromatic Waves and a Horizontal Plate)

  • 규칙파와 수면아래 잠긴 수평판 사이의 비선형 상호작용을 규명하기 위하여 수치파동수조를 이용하여 수치 실험을 수행하였다. 수치모델로 비선형 포텐셜 이론을 근거로 한 고차 경계요소법과 Navier Stokes 방정식과 엄밀한 자유표면 경계조건식을 푸는 CADMAS-SURF을 사용하였다. 두 모델 모두 수평판 위의 천수역에서 발생하는 고차 조화항들을 예측할 수 있으며 점성효과를 포함하는 CADMAS-SURF는 수평판 양단에서 발생하는 와류와 박리에 의한 고차 조화항의 발생을 재현할 수 있다. 수평판의 잠긴 깊이와 길이 변화에 따른 반사율과 투과율을 Patarapanich and Cheong(1989)의 모형실험결과와 비교하였고 서로 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 수평판의 길이가 길어지고 잠긴 깊이가 얕아질수록 입사파의 에너지가 고차 조화항으로 더 많이 전이됨을 확인하였다.

두 파라미터 탄성기초를 갖는 테이퍼진 티모센코 보의 진동 및 안정성 (Vibration and Stability of Tapered Timoshenko Beams on Two-Parameter Elastic Foundations)

  • 본 논문은 이중 탄성기초 위에 놓인 테이퍼진 티모센코 보의 진동과 동적 안정성에 대한 연구로써, 이중 탄성기초는 지반모델에서 흔히 이용되는 분포 Winkler 스프링들과 전단기초층으로 구성된다. 보의 전단변형과 회전관성이 고려되고, 지배방정식은 Halmilton원리를 이용한 에너지 표현식에 의해 유도된다. 고유진동수와 좌굴하중을 구하기 위해 관계되는 고유치 문제를 풀며, 출력을 받는 보의 진동에 대한 수치해석결과들이 제시되는 다른 방법을 사용한 유용한 해의 결과들과 비교된다. 출력을 받고 탄성기초 위에 놓인 테이퍼진 티모센코 보의 고유진동수, 모드 형상, 그리고 임계하중 값들이 다양한 테이퍼 두께의 비, 전단기초 파라미터, Winkler 기초파라미터, 경계조건의 변화에 대해 조사된다.

카운터 밸런스 밸브를 내장한 유압 모터 브레이크 시스템의 동특성 (A Study on Dynamic Characteristics of Hydraulic Motor Brake System with Counter Balance Valve)

  • Counter balance valve is used as one part of hydraulic motor brake system. The function of this valve is to protect over-run or free falling of inertia load. But occasionally the brake system with counter balance valve makes some undesirable problems such as pressure surges or vibrations. These problems may hurt system safety and driver's conformability. Nevertheless, studies on dynamic characteristics of hydraulic system including counter balance valve are very rare, so further accumulation of research results are required. In this study, for the purpose of easy estimation about dynamic characteristics of hydraulic system including counter balance valve, precise formulation describing fluid dynamics and valve dynamics under various boundary conditions were made. The equations obtained in the preceding process include some parameters that must be got experimentally. Flow coefficients of valve and choke are the most significant ones among the parameters. So these parameters are obtained experimentally in this study, and experimental equations obtained from the experimental data were used for numerical calculation. The equations were analysed by numerical integration using Runge-Kutta method, because the equations contain various nonlinear terms. From the numerical analysis, it was verified that the dynamic response of counter balance valve and pressure variation at each elements can be estimated very easily. So the analysing method developed in this study enabled very easy estimating the relation between the performances of counter balance valve and various physical parameters related to the valve. Conclusively, it is said that the results obtained in this study can be used very usefully to develop a new type counter balance valve or to apply the valve to actual hydraulic system for various industrial equipments.

포텐셜 유동에 의한 프로펠러-WIG선의 상호작용 및 성능해석 (Analysis of Propeller-WIG Interaction and Performance in Potential Flow)

  • 프로펠러-WIG(Wing in Ground Effect)선의 상호작용 및 성능을 포텐셜 유동에 의해 해석하였다. 프로펠러는 보오텍스 격자법(VLM)을 사용하였고 WIG선은 포텐셜 기저 패널법을 사용하여 각 경계조건을 만족시키면서 반복계산을 통하여 상호작용 및 성능을 해석하였다. 자유수면은 강체로 가정하여 경상법을 사용하였다. 프로펠러-WIG의 상호작용 및 성능을 해석하기에 앞서 발표된 실험결과와 계산결과가 있는 MP101 프로펠러와 MR-21 타의 상호작용 및 성능해석을 수행하여 개발된 프로그램의 정도를 검증하였다. 프로펠러-WIG선의 상호작용해석은 프로펠러의 부착위치, 직경 및 회전수의 변화에 따른 비행고도 높이 변화에 대한 양력 및 피치모멘트를 계산하여 비교하였다. 날개 앞에 부착된 프로펠러는 WIG선의 양력을 급격히 향상시키며 정적안정성을 향상시킴을 알았다. 따라서 적절한 프로펠러의 크기, 부착위치 및 회전수의 선택이 PARWIG선의 성능향상을 위해 필수적임을 알았다.

Nonlinear soil parameter effects on dynamic embedment of offshore pipeline on soft clay

  • In this paper, the effects of nonlinear soft clay on dynamic embedment of offshore pipeline were investigated. Seabed embedment by pipe-soil interactions has impacts on the structural boundary conditions for various subsea structures such as pipeline, riser, pile, and many other systems. A number of studies have been performed to estimate real soil behavior, but their estimation of seabed embedment has not been fully identified and there are still many uncertainties. In this regards, comparison of embedment between field survey and existing empirical models has been performed to identify uncertainties and investigate the effect of nonlinear soil parameter on dynamic embedment. From the comparison, it is found that the dynamic embedment with installation effects based on nonlinear soil model have an influence on seabed embedment. Therefore, the pipe embedment under dynamic condition by nonlinear parameters of soil models was investigated by Dynamic Embedment Factor (DEF) concept, which is defined as the ratio of the dynamic and static embedment of pipeline, in order to overcome the gap between field embedment and currently used empirical and numerical formula. Although DEF through various researches is suggested, its range is too wide and it does not consider dynamic laying effect. It is difficult to find critical parameters that are affecting to the embedment result. Therefore, the study on dynamic embedment factor by soft clay parameters of nonlinear soil model was conducted and the sensitivity analyses about parameters of nonlinear soil model were performed as well. The tendency on dynamic embedment factor was found by conducting numerical analyses using OrcaFlex software. It is found that DEF was influenced by shear strength gradient than other factors. The obtained results will be useful to understand the pipe embedment on soft clay seabed for applying offshore pipeline designs such as on-bottom stability and free span analyses.

복합재료적층판의 진동해석을 위한 유한요소모델 II. 유한요소모델의 유도 및 해석 (Finite Element Analysis for Vibration of Laminated Plate Using a Consistent Discrete Theory Part II : Finite Element Formulation and Implementations)

  • 앞의 논문 Part 1 에서 유도한 변분원리를 이용하여 복합재료적층판의 진동해석을 할 수 있는 유한요소해석 모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델에서는 어느 한 층의 면내 변위와 나머지층 단면의 회전각, 그리고 판 전체의 연직방향처짐을 절점변수로 취하게 되어 n개층으로된 적층판의 경우 2(n+1)+1의 절점 자유도를 갖는다. 따라서, 판의 주변에서는 한층의 면내변위와 각층단면의 회전각을, 판의 면내에서는 연직방향 처짐을 경계조건값으로 정의할 수 있다. 이 모델에 의해 개발한 프로그램을 이용하여 각층의 재료특성이 크게 다른 혼종형 복합재료적층판(hybrid laminate)의 고유진동문제를 해석하였다. 탄성이론해 및 다른 유한요소해석결과와 본 해석결과와의 비교를 통해 제시모델이 기존의 다른 유한요소모델보다 정확함을 예시하였다.
