트래픽 정보 취득을 위한 고속이동물체 속도 측정 (Velocity Measurement of Fast Moving Object for Traffic Information Acquisition)

  • 본 논문은 트래픽 정보취득을 위하여 영상의 라인 샘플링을 이용한 고속이동물체 속도 측정 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이동물체의 트래픽 정보 취득을 위한 속도 측정은 도로에 제 1 샘플라인과 제 2 샘플라인을 설정해 놓고, 물체가 샘플라인을 통과할 때 취득된 영상의 시변환 색조 데이터와 기준영상 색조 데이터 사이에서 차영상 기법으로 자동차를 검출하고, 자동차가 두 샘플라인 사이에 거리를 통과할 때 점유하는 프레임수로 속도를 측정하였다. 제 1 샘플라인과 제 2 샘플라인에서 각각 검출된 자동차의 색조로 동일성 판별을 하였다. 제안된 방법의 타당성을 검토하기 위하여 주행하는 자동차를 대상으로 동일성 판별 및 속도 측정을 한 결과, 동일성 판별은 두 개의 샘플링 라인을 통과하는 자동차의 색조 데이터로 판별됨을 보였고, 자동차의 속도 측정은 X-밴드 속도 측정 시스템과 비교한 결과 3% 이내임을 보였다.

Analysis of Strategies for Installing Parallel Stations in Assembly Systems

  • An assembly system (AS), a valuable tool for mass production, is generally composed of a number of workstations and a transport system. While the workstations perform some preplanned operations, the transport system moves the assemblies by special designed pallets from one station to another. One common problem associated with automatic assembly systems is that some assembly operations may have relatively long cycle times. As a consequence, the productivity, as determined by the operations with the longest cycle time, can be reduced significantly. Therefore, special forms of parallel workstations were developed to improve the performance of an assembly system. In this paper, three most commonly used parallel stations: on-line, off-line and tunnel-gated stations in a free transfer assembly system are studied via discrete event simulation. Our findings revealed that the off-line parallel system has the best performance because the two independent parallel stations can lower the buffer requirement; reduce the sensitivity to variability of processing time and balance of a line. On-line parallel systems were found to have a relatively poor performance, because the operations of two parallel stations block each other, and higher buffer capacity is required to achieve similar capacity. The tunnel-gated system was more efficient than the on-line system since the first parallel station can operate independently. More importantly, we have quantified the productivity of the three different strategies mentioned. Engineers can choose the optimal strategies for installing parallel stations under their working environment.

WPAN용 가시광 통신 시스템의 새로운 라인코딩 (New Line Coding of Visible Light Communication System for WPAN)

  • 가시광 통신(Visible Light Communication)시스템에서 고속 데이터 통신을 위한 최적의 line coding 기법을 제안한다. 새롭게 제안한 B4-HBT line coding은 1은 +Voltage와 -Voltage를 서로 교번하여 부호화하는데 1은 처음에는 +V, 그다음에는 -V로 서로 상반되게 극성을 대응하는 형태를 취한다. 여기에 연속적인 0비트가 4개가 존재하면 그전에 존재한 1비트에 상반되는 V를 같고 5개의 연속적인 마지막 0비트에서 반대부호 V를 갖고 1비트마다 반 비트 변이를 주어 오류를 줄이고 잡음의 영향을 적게 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과에서 존재하고 있는 line coding과 비교하여 2${\sim}$3dB 이득을 보인다.

온라인 게임 캐릭터 복식 색채와 패션 트렌드 색채의 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis of On-Line Game Characters' Costumes and Fashion Trend Color)

  • The purpose of this study is to come up with ways that cooperate between on-line game design and fashion design by analyzing trend color and on-line game character's costume color in on-line game. As for the research methodology, First, on-line games were selected with reference to www.ranky.com. Second, 2009 SS trend color palettes suggested by Copenhagen International Fashion Fair was used as a criterion of fashion trend. Third, on-line game character's costume colors were analyzed in relation to the degree of reflection of trend and the game character's type. The results are as follows. Each on-line game character costume's colors were made in accordance with typical character types. But we can find a one-to-one correspondence between fashion trend colors and game character costume's colors. That's because both trends and character types are the results of the continuing interactions between human-beings and societies. In comparison with fashion trend colors, game character costume colors are partly raw and inharmonious. Therefore, it is necessary to apply fashion trend color in game character costume design for enhancing competitiveness in the world market.

  • We propose comb-line filter using SIR(Stepped Impedance Resonator) with two transmission line. The coupling structure of the filter is double coupled line where two coupled lines are linked with cascade. We find out the inverter function of the filter. using even and odd mode impedance. The merits of the filter are that first, we can design transmission zero point at any frequency that we wanted without using lumped elements : chip capacitors and inductors. Second, we can design small size filters. To validate the inverter function of the filter with double coupled line we designed and fabricated two-pole band pass filter with the proposed filter structure.

DGS 전송선로의 등가회로와 전파지연계수에 대한 재고찰 (A Study for the Equivalent Circuit and Slow-Wave Factor of Defected Ground Structure Transmission Line)

  • A frequency-dependent slow-wave factor (SWF) and equivalent circuit model of transmission line with defected ground structures (DGS) is described. Once S-parameters of a DGS transmission line are given, the conventional frequency -independent equivalent circuit elements are extracted using 3dB cutoff and resonant frequencies (Fc and Fo) as the first step. Using the initial equivalent elements and simple transmission line theories, a frequency-dependent equivalent transmission line model is established through an analytical method, and finally the frequency dependent SWF is calculated. The proposed equivalent circuit model and SWF are frequency-dependent and more reliable because even small insertion loss within available passband is considered, while they have been independent of frequency.

  • This paper first outlines the technology used in Power Line Communications(PLC) systems, and the political support being offered to the technology, from the point of view of its effect on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The radio spectrum needs protection from other interferers, and there is a regime in place to provide this interference avoidance/mitigation. Nevertheless, PLC has several features that mean that it is capable of creating such interference. These features are discussed, and some published field trial results are reviewed. Difficulties in achieving compatibility between the requirements for radio protection and the requirements for operation of the PLC system mean that there is no consensus as yet as to how PLC system components can be made compliant with EMC requirements. It is concluded that there is little prospect of an accommodation between the competing demands, so that if PLC is to become widespread it will be at the expense of the radio environment.

검색에 기초한 파형 검출 알고리듬 (Waveform Detection Algorithm based on the Search of Distinctive Line-Segments)

  • We present a new waveform detection method, based on the search of distinctive line-segments. The method is based on the basic assumption that the waveform morphology of biological signals is readily characterized by a sequence of the distinctive line-segments and their structural features. In this method, the distinctive line-segments are first searched for, and a structural feature analysis is performed an the distinctive line-segments found. Experiments of detecting epileptic spikes were carried out to evaluate the detection per formance of the method. Two subjects were used for training and tuning the algorithm and four subjects for testing the method. The results were obtained on two different performance indices, detection ratio and the number of false detections per minute.

  • This paper introduces several mobile robots developed by using LEGO MIDSTORM for experimental studies of robotics engineering education. The first mobile robot is the line tracer robot that tracks a line, which is a prototype of wheel-driven mobile robots. Ultra violet sensors are used to detect and follow the line. The second robot system is a two-wheel balancing robot that is somewhat nonlinear and complex. For the robot to balance, a gyro sensor is used to detect a balancing angle and PD control is used. The last robot system is a combined system of a line tracer and a two-wheel balancing robot. Sensor filtering and control algorithms are tested through experimental studies.

  • A clique-transversal set D of a graph G is a set of vertices of G such that D meets all cliques of G. The clique-transversal number is the minimum cardinality of a clique-transversal set in G. For every cubic graph with at most two bridges, we first show that it has a perfect matching which contains exactly one edge of each triangle of it; by the result, we determine the exact value of the clique-transversal number of line graph of it. Also, we present a sharp upper bound on the clique-transversal number of line graph of a cubic graph. Furthermore, we prove that the clique-transversal number of line graph of a triangle-free graph is at most the chromatic number of complement of the triangle-free graph.
