  • In this paper we introduce a new formulation of symmetric homogeneous bivariate means that depends on the variation of a given continuous strictly increasing function on (0, ${\infty}$). It turns out that this class of means includes a lot of known bivariate means among them the arithmetic mean, the harmonic mean, the geometric mean, the logarithmic mean as well as the first and second Seiffert means. Using this new formulation we introduce a lot of new bivariate means and derive some mean-inequalities.

  • This paper introduces three different simulation algorithms of the shifted Poisson distribution. The first algorithm is the inverse transform method, the second is the rejection sampling, and the third is gamma-Poisson hierarchy sampling. Three algorithms have different regions of parameters at which they are efficient. We numerically compare those algorithms with different sets of parameters. As an application, we give a simulation method of the constant elasticity of variance model.

  • We deal with the Cauchy problem for the space-time fractional diffusion equation, which is obtained from standard diffusion equation by replacing the second-order space derivative with a Caputo (or Riemann-Liouville) derivative of order ${\beta}{\in}$ (0, 2] and the first-order time derivative with Caputo derivative of order ${\beta}{\in}$ (0, 1]. The fundamental solution (Green function) for the Cauchy problem is investigated with respect to its scaling and similarity properties, starting from its Fourier-Laplace representation. We derive explicit expression of the Green function. The Green function also can be interpreted as a spatial probability density function evolving in time. We further explain the similarity property by discussing the scale-invariance of the space-time fractional diffusion equation.

  • In this article we study the evolution and monotonicity of the first non-zero eigenvalue of weighted p-Laplacian operator which it acting on the space of functions on closed oriented Riemannian n-manifolds along the extended Ricci flow and normalized extended Ricci flow. We show that the first eigenvalue of weighted p-Laplacian operator diverges as t approaches to maximal existence time. Also, we obtain evolution formulas of the first eigenvalue of weighted p-Laplacian operator along the normalized extended Ricci flow and using it we find some monotone quantities along the normalized extended Ricci flow under the certain geometric conditions.

  • The aim of this paper is to study the structure of the fundamental group of a closed oriented Riemannian manifold with positive scalar curvature. To be more precise, let M be a closed oriented Riemannian manifold of dimension n (4 $\leq$ n $\leq$ 7) with positive scalar curvature and non-trivial first Betti number, and let be $\alpha$ non-trivial codimension one homology class in $H_{n-1}$(M;$\mathbb{R}$). Then it is known as in [8] that there exists a closed embedded hypersurface $N_{\alpha}$ of M representing $\alpha$ of minimum volume, compared with all other closed hypersurfaces in the homology class. Our main result is to show that the fundamental group ${\pi}_1(N_{\alpha})$ is always virtually free. In particular, this gives rise to a new obstruction to the existence of a metric of positive scalar curvature.

  • In this paper, we introduce and study the class of rings in which every ideal consisting entirely of zero divisors is a d-ideal, considered as a generalization of strongly duo rings. Some results including the characterization of AA-rings are given in the first section. Further, we examine the stability of these rings in localization and study the possible transfer to direct product and trivial ring extension. In addition, we define the class of dE-ideals which allows us to characterize von Neumann regular rings.

  • This paper is a further development of the recent results by the author and coworker on the generalized sequential Fourier-Feynman transform for functionals in a Banach algebra Ŝ and some related functionals. We establish existence of the generalized first variation of these functionals. Also we investigate various relationships between the generalized sequential Fourier-Feynman transform, the generalized sequential convolution product and the generalized first variation of the functionals.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the case of supporting the mathematical modeling activities through the group creativity in everyday class of 9th grade. The details are as follows. First, through the theoretical review, the meaning of group creativity according to sociocultural perspective and the sociocultural characteristics of mathematical modeling were confirmed. Second, we experimented in a classroom consisting of 5 groups of 4 students, and conducted a case study focusing on a well developed group of group creativity. The results are as follows. First, group creativity with various types of interaction and creativity synergy was observed at each stage of mathematical modeling. According to the stag e of mathematical modeling and the type of interaction, different creative synergy was developed. Second, the developed group creativity supported each step of mathematical modeling. According to the stage of mathematical modeling and the type of interaction, group creativity supported mathematical modeling activities in different directions.

  • In this paper, we consider a generalized Riemann problem of the first order hyperbolic conservation laws. For the case that excludes the centered wave, we prove that the generalized Riemann problem admits a unique piecewise smooth solution u = u(t, x), and this solution has a structure similar to the similarity solution u = $U{(\frac{x}{t})}$ of the correspondin Riemann problem in the neighborhood of the origin provided that the coefficients of the system and the initial conditions are sufficiently smooth.

  • Let HEI, HEII, HEIII and HEIV be the first, second, third and fourth type Loo-Keng Hua domain respectively, 𝜑 a holomorphic self-map of HEI, HEII, HEIII, or HEIV and u ∈ H(𝓜) the space of all holomorphic functions on 𝓜 ∈ {HEI, HEII, HEIII, HEIV}. In this paper, motivated by the well known Hua's matrix inequality, first some inequalities for the points in the Bers-type spaces of the Loo-Keng Hua domains are obtained, and then the boundedness and compactness of the weighted composition operators W𝜑,u : f ↦ u · f ◦ 𝜑 on Bers-type spaces of these domains are characterized.
