부도확률맵과 AHP를 이용한 기업 신용등급 산출모형의 개발 (Developing Corporate Credit Rating Models Using Business Failure Probability Map and Analytic Hierarchy Process)

  • Most researches on the corporate credit rating are generally classified into the area of bankruptcy prediction and bond rating. The studies on bankruptcy prediction have focused on improving the performance in binary classification problem, since the criterion variable is categorical, bankrupt or non-bankrupt. The other studies on bond rating have predicted the credit ratings, which was already evaluated by bond rating experts. The financial institute, however, should perform effective loan evaluation and risk management by employing the corporate credit rating model, which is able to determine the credit of corporations. Therefore, this study presents a corporate credit rating method using business failure probability map(BFPM) and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The BFPM enables us to rate the credit of corporations according to business failure probability and data distribution or frequency on each credit rating level. Also, we developed AHP model for credit rating using non-financial information. For the purpose of completed credit rating model, we integrated the BFPM and the AHP model using both financial and non-financial information. Finally, the credit ratings of each firm are assigned by our proposed method. This method will be helpful for the loan evaluators of financial institutes to decide more objective and effective credit ratings.

중소기업 부실예측을 위한 단일변량분석과 다변량분석의 판별력 비교에 관한 연구 (Comparative Study of the Discrimination of Uni-variate Analysis and Multi-variate Analysis for Small-Business Firm's Fail Prediction)

  • 본 논문은 2009년~2012년까지 코스닥시장에서 상장폐지된 기업 중 제조업을 영위하는 83개사를 부실기업표본으로 선정하고 동종품목 혹은 동종 산업군에 속하는 정상기업 83개사와 함께 쌍대표본으로 표본기업을 구성하였다. 상장폐지직전 5년간 75개의 재무적 비율을 부실기업과 정상기업 두 그룹의 평균차이분석을 통하여 5년 연속 유의미한 변수로 출현한 15개 변수를 선정하여 단일변량분석(이원분류법)과 다변량분석(로지스틱회귀분석 및 판별분석)을 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 로지스틱회귀분석모형의 판별력(분류정확도)이 가장 높게 나타났다. 본 연구는 기업부실이 장기간에 걸쳐 서서히 진행된다는 점을 감안하여 상장폐지직전 5년 전 자료까지 고려하여 기업부실을 예측함으로써 기존 선행연구들이 상장폐지 직전 3년 전 자료로 기업부실을 예측한 것과 달리 보다 조기에 기업부실을 예측하려고 시도한 점과 일반 이해관계자들도 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 이원분류법(단일변량분석)과 통계적으로 복잡한 다변량분석을 비교분석한 것도 기존 선행연구와 차별화된다.

  • 본 연구는 공기업형 조직인 우정사업본부에 대한 BSC(Balanced Scorecard)시스템 구축사례를 제시한다. 일반적으로 공공부문과 민간부문의 BSC 모델은 서로 상이한 전략목표로 인해 각각 다른 형태로 구축된다. 우정사업본부는 현재 정부기업으로서 공공부문의 성격을 많이 내포하고 있으면서, 또한 민간부문과 유사한 BSC 특성을 가지고 있다. 즉 민간기업이 아닌 공기업으로서의 조직의 형태를 띠고 있다. 현재 공기업을 포함하는 많은 정부 산하기관들이 BSC를 도입했거나, 도입하려고 하지만, BSC에 대한 이해부족으로 말미암아 예상보다 BSC 시스템을 성공적으로 구축하는데 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 우정사업본부의 BSC 사례분석을 통해 공기업의 BSC 시스템 구축의 주요 성공요인과 문제점을 분석하고, 향후 공기업의 BSC 시스템을 위한 발전방향을 제시하였다.

중소벤처기업성과와 국내 지원기관들의 평가지표간의 상관관계에 관한 실증연구 (On the Relationship between Evaluation Indexes and Firms' Performance: An Empirical Study on Venture Firms in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 중소벤처평가지표의 개선을 위해 t-test, 요인분석, 로짓회귀분석을 이용하여 평가지표의 판별력을 분석하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중소벤처평가지표의 분류정확도가 93%를 보이고 있어 기존 재무비율을 이용한 선행연구의 예측력과 비슷한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 통상적으로 중소벤처지원기관의 평가지표는 기술성지표, 사업성지표, 시장성지표로 구성되어 있는데 본 연구의 요인분석 결과 6개의 평가지표로 구성되는 것이 바람직함을 보이고 있다. 셋째, 중소벤처성과에 영향을 미치는 요인들로, 기존 연구에서도 주장된 기업가정신(entrepreneurship)을 나타내는 경영자기술역량, 경영자경영역량 그리고 사업성인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 이들의 비중(영향정도)는 비슷한 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 연구는 재일 한인 디아스포라 3세 손 마사요시의 어떠한 정체성과 가치관이 기업의 성공에 영향을 미쳤는지 연구하였다. 한 기업의 경영 방식은 경영자의 정체성과 가치관에 따라 크게 좌우되고, 이는 기업의 성공에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 재일한인디아스포라 3세 경영자인 손 마사요시의 정체성과 가치관에 대한 사례 연구 결과, 성공의 열쇠는 첫째, 탈민족적인 성향과 미국유학을 통한 글로벌 세계?, 둘째, 차별과 억압된 성장기와 료마의 영향으로 형성된 도전정신, 셋째, 재일한인디아스포라로서의 콤플렉스 극복을 통해 생겨난 오뚝이 정신, 넷째, 조모 이원조를 통한 사람중심 경영이념 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 그의 정체성과 가치관들은 소프트뱅크의 경영 방식에 복합적으로 영향을 주었고, 이는 기업의 성공으로 이어졌다. 따라서 본 연구는 재일한인디아스포라 3세 연구에 대한 또 다른 시각을 제공하고 있다. 특히 재일 한인 디아스포라에 대한 기업 연구가 부족한 가운데 재일한인 3세 경영인과 그가 경영하고 있는 글로벌 기업에 대한 연구라는 점에서 본 연구는 의미가 있다.

소규모 기업에 있어서 지식소싱 전략이 기업성과에 미치는 영향 고찰 (An Examination of Knowledge Sourcing Strategies Effects on Corporate Performance in Small Enterprises)

  • Knowledge is an essential strategic weapon for sustaining competitive advantage and is the key determinant for organizational growth. When knowledge is shared and disseminated throughout the organization, it increases an organization's value by providing the ability to respond to new and unusual situations. The growing importance of knowledge as a critical resource has forced executives to pay attention to their organizational knowledge. Organizations are increasingly undertaking knowledge management initiatives and making significant investments. Knowledge sourcing is considered as the first important step in effective knowledge management. Most firms continue to make an effort to realize the benefits of knowledge management by using various knowledge sources effectively. Appropriate knowledge sourcing strategies enable organizations to create, acquire, and access knowledge in a timely manner by reducing search and transfer costs, which result in better firm performance. In response, the knowledge management literature has devoted substantial attention to the analysis of knowledge sourcing strategies. Many studies have categorized knowledge sourcing strategies into intemal- and external-oriented. Internal-oriented sourcing strategy attempts to increase firm performance by integrating knowledge within the boundary of the firm. On the contrary, external-oriented strategy attempts to bring knowledge in from outside sources via either acquisition or imitation, and then to transfer that knowledge across to the organization. However, the extant literature on knowledge sourcing strategies focuses primarily on large organizations. Although many studies have clearly highlighted major differences between large and small firms and the need to adopt different strategies for different firm sizes, scant attention has been given to analyzing how knowledge sourcing strategies affect firm performance in small firms and what are the differences between small and large firms in the patterns of knowledge sourcing strategies adoption. This study attempts to advance the current literature by examining the impact of knowledge sourcing strategies on small firm performance from a holistic perspective. By drawing on knowledge based theory from organization science and complementarity theory from the economics literature, this paper is motivated by the following questions: (1) what are the adoption patterns of different knowledge sourcing strategies in small firms (i,e., what sourcing strategies should be adopted and which sourcing strategies work well together in small firms)?; and (2) what are the performance implications of these adoption patterns? In order to answer the questions, this study developed three hypotheses. First hypothesis based on knowledge based theory is that internal-oriented knowledge sourcing is positively associated with small firm performance. Second hypothesis developed on the basis of knowledge based theory is that external-oriented knowledge sourcing is positively associated with small firm performance. The third one based on complementarity theory is that pursuing both internal- and external-oriented knowledge sourcing simultaneously is negatively or less positively associated with small firm performance. As a sampling frame, 700 firms were identified from the Annual Corporation Report in Korea. Survey questionnaires were mailed to owners or executives who were most erudite about the firm s knowledge sourcing strategies and performance. A total of 188 companies replied, yielding a response rate of 26.8%. Due to incomplete data, 12 responses were eliminated, leaving 176 responses for the final analysis. Since all independent variables were measured using continuous variables, supermodularity function was used to test the hypotheses based on the cross partial derivative of payoff function. The results indicated no significant impact of internal-oriented sourcing strategies while positive impact of external-oriented sourcing strategy on small firm performance. This intriguing result could be explained on the basis of various resource and capital constraints of small firms. Small firms typically have restricted financial and human resources. They do not have enough assets to always develop knowledge internally. Another possible explanation is competency traps or core rigidities. Building up a knowledge base based on internal knowledge creates core competences, but at the same time, excessive internal focused knowledge exploration leads to behaviors blind to other knowledge. Interestingly, this study found that Internal- and external-oriented knowledge sourcing strategies had a substitutive relationship, which was inconsistent with previous studies that suggested complementary relationship between them. This result might be explained using organizational identification theory. Internal organizational members may perceive external knowledge as a threat, and tend to ignore knowledge from external sources because they prefer to maintain their own knowledge, legitimacy, and homogeneous attitudes. Therefore, integrating knowledge from internal and external sources might not be effective, resulting in failure of improvements of firm performance. Another possible explanation is small firms resource and capital constraints and lack of management expertise and absorptive capacity. Although the integration of different knowledge sources is critical, high levels of knowledge sourcing in many areas are quite expensive and so are often unrealistic for small enterprises. This study provides several implications for research as well as practice. First this study extends the existing knowledge by examining the substitutability (and complementarity) of knowledge sourcing strategies. Most prior studies have tended to investigate the independent effects of these strategies on performance without considering their combined impacts. Furthermore, this study tests complementarity based on the productivity approach that has been considered as a definitive test method for complementarity. Second, this study sheds new light on knowledge management research by identifying the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and small firm performance. Most current literature has insisted complementary relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies on the basis of data from large firms. Contrary to the conventional wisdom, this study identifies substitutive relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies using data from small firms. Third, implications for practice highlight that managers of small firms should focus on knowledge sourcing from external-oriented strategies. Moreover, adoption of both sourcing strategies simultaneousiy impedes small firm performance.

  • A 7 month old male shepherd was presented with anorexia, diarrhea, and salivation, and euthanized due to no clinical improvement. Grossly, ulcers were seen on ventral surface of tongue and stomach. The mineralization was obvious in the intercostal space, lung and inner surface of aorta. Kidney was pale, firm and irregular. Histopathology confirmed uremic pneumonitis, end stage kidney and hyperplasia of parathyroid. This case was the typical uremic condition of juvenile dog, which was characterized the diffuse soft tissue mineralization due to hyperparathyroidism secondary to chronic renal failure.

  • PMO has gained much interest as an approach to lowering project failure rates. PMO implementation is, however, not an easy endeavor. Many studies have reported that a significant number of PMOs were seen as contributing little to project performance. Local organizations are more likely to be exposed to the failure risk as they tend to heavily depend upon outsourced PMO services. We believe that it is essential for ordering organizations to collaborate with the PMO service firm to come up with a proper PMO governance prior to its implementation. This study is to empirically investigate the effects of PMO governance upon PMO performance and the effects of ordering organization's project readiness upon PMO governance. The study result shows that a proper organizational structure and a properly defined role and responsibility may enhance the PMO performance. And, a correct awareness about PMO and a project management capability were found to be contributing to the appropriateness of PMO governance.

가설구조물의 붕괴재해에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Collapse Accidents of the Temporary Structures)

  • Formwork is a temporary structure that supports its own weight and that of the freshly placed concrete as well as construction live loads including materials, equipments, and workmen. In designing and building formwork, the contractor should plan for economical construction without sacrificing quality or safety. But these temporary structures sometimes collapse during the concrete placing. Among the accidents and failures that occur during concrete construction, many are formwork failures, which usually happen at the time concrete is being placed. Generally some unexpected events cause one member to give way, then others become overloaded or misaligned and the whole formwork structure collapses. In this study, formwork failure events from 1994 to 1997 are analyzed using the structural analysis program. So the causes of the respective formwork failure are explored. Therefore, the present study provides a firm base to design the temporary structures such as formwork.

  • 서비스 실패는 서비스 상품의 본질적인 특성 때문에 불가피하게 일어나게 마련이다. 서비스 기업들은 고객의 불만족을 초래하는 서비스 실패를 관리하기 위하여 서비스회복의 다각적인 노력을 하고 있다. 본 연구는 고객 개개인이 갖고 있는 가치 성향에 따라서 서비스 실패를 허용하는 수준이 다를 것이라고 가정하고 연구를 진행하였다. 실증적 연구를 통하여 밝혀낸 결과는 서로 다른 개인들의 가치 성향이 서비스 실패에 대하여 용인하는 정도에 차이가 있으며 이로 인하여 불만족의 수준도 달라진다는 것이다. 따라서 고객 성향의 효과적인 파악은 고객만족의 수준을 높이거나 최소한 고객 불만족의 수준을 낮출 수 있을 것이다.
