Our paper is devoted to the study of certain diophantine equations on the ring of polynomials over a finite field, which are intimately related to algebraic formal power series which have partial quotients of unbounded degree in their continued fraction expansion. In particular it is shown that there are Pisot formal power series with degree greater than 2, having infinitely many large partial quotients in their simple continued fraction expansions. This generalizes an earlier result of Baum and Sweet for algebraic formal power series.

There is a standard construction of lifting cyclic codes over the prime finite field ${\mathbb{Z}}_p$ to the rings ${\mathbb{Z}}_{p^e}$ and to the ring of p-adic integers. We generalize this construction for arbitrary finite fields. This will naturally enable us to lift codes over finite fields ${\mathbb{F}}_{p^r}$ to codes over Galois rings GR($p^e$, r). We give concrete examples with all of the lifts.

We have developed a CMOS LTPS process, which requires only five photolithographic masks and only one ion doping step. Single TFTs, inverters, ring oscillators and shift registers were fabricated. N- and p-channel devices reached field effect mobilities of $173cm^2/Vs$ and $47cm^2/Vs$, respectively.

본 연구에서는 와선 지배방정식의 계산을 위해 쌍곡선 blending 함수를 이용하여 와선운동의 정확한 계산을 할 수 있었고 이 방법을 통하여 임의로 거동하는 와선이 강체구와 간섭하는 경우의 3차원 유동장에 대한 해석과 이에 의한 쌍극 음향장 해석을 수행하였다. 경계치 적분방법을 통해 강체구에 작용하는 힘을 계산할 수 있었고 이 방법은 물체의 형태에 구애 받지 않으므로 임의 형상에 대해서도 유동장과 음향장 계산이 가능하다고 본다.

In [3] we showed that a polynomial over a Noetherian ring is divisible by some other polynomial by looking at the matrix formed by the coefficients of the polynomials which we called the resultant matrix. In this paper, we consider the polynomials with coefficients in a field and divisibility of a polynomial by a polynomial with a certain degree is equivalent to the existence of common solution to a system of Diophantine equations. As an application we construct a family of irreducible quartics over $\mathbb{Q}$ which are not of Eisenstein type.

Small form factor optical disks for near-field optics using solid immersion lens were developed. Disk durability properties in terms of head-disk interface (HDI) properties were investigated by drag test, diamond like carbon film and lubricant film were coated on the small form factor disk to enhance HDI. Disks with glass substrates and lubricant films after heat treatment showed more durable characteristics. Coverlayers made of UV resin were uniformly coated by spin coating In which the ski-jump could not be formed by adopting outer ring technique.

Drain/Source areas of NMOS TFTs were formed by PECVD deposition of a highly doped precursor layer while PMOS contact areas were defined by ion implantation. Single TFTs, inverters, ring oscillators and shift registers were fabricated. N and p-channel devices reached field effect mobilities of $173cm^2$/Vs and $47cm^2$/Vs, respectively.

Using the "MAGIC" code, computer simulation is performed to design a cathode structure which provides a radial distribution of electron beam density matching the field distribution of the $TM_{05}$ mode. Thus, very narrow band $TM_{05}$ mode microwave radiation can be generated in an open end waveguide. The simulation results show that the vircator can indeed be operated at the selected frequency 10.2GHz with a very narrow bandwidth(${\Delta}{\omega}/{\omega}$ < 1%).

We report here the results on N-acetyl-N"-methylamide of oxazolidine (Ac-Oxa-NHMe) calculated using the ab initio molecular orbital method with the self-consistent reaction field (SCRF) theory at the HF level of theory with the 6-31 +G(d) basis set. The displacement of the $\gamma$-$CH_2$ group in proline ring by oxygen atom has affected the structure of proline, cis-trans equilibrium, and rotational barrier. The up-puckered structure is found to be prevalent for the trans conformers of the Oxa amide. (omitted)
