Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate extracurricular program needs according to the learning styles of dental hygiene students, and to develop and organize non-subject programs that strengthen student competencies. Methods: The subjects in this study were dental hygiene students from three colleges located in Chungbuk, Chungnam, and Ulsan, respectively. The survey tools were composed of learning style, a non-subject field, and non-subject teaching and learning methods. Lastly, 313 data points were analyzed. Results: Learning styles of subjects were as follows: assimilators, divergers, convergers, and accommodators, at 44.6%, 33.0%, 16.0%, and 6.4%, respectively. Preference of the non-subject field, according to learning style, showed that accommodators were higher than divergers on startup, and the difference was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). Preference of non-subject teaching and learning methods, according to learning style, shows that both divergers and convergers prefer special lectures, while assimilators prefer tours, and convergers prefer experience/exercise. The results had achieved statistical significance (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study shows that dental hygiene students had different learning styles, and their learning methods varied depending on learning style. Therefore, a method should be identified to develop and run non-subject programs suitable for each learning style.
In the current classrooms a teacher has been merely able to inculcate the procedural knowledge of how-and-what. In doing so, however, we lose sight of the essence of "doing science."Though desire of the gifted children is qualitatively different from that of normal children, it is an undesirable reality that we have not developed sufficient researches and programs in conformity with the necessary desire and demand of the gifted children. Curriculum for gifted children in the domain of science necessitates markedly the specializations for the specific areas of the contents, the processes, and the products of studies. In an effort to provide the optimum learning experience for the gifted, this paper deals with the development of project-and-discovery-based science program, its method of application to the real field of education, and its effect, however limited and partial that effect may be. What this study has found are the following: on the one hand, the students acquired and developed the higher levels of thinking when they were under the influence of project-and-discovery-based science program that dealt with concrete real-world problems and issues; on the other, the students were capable of solving creatively the complex and real problems through small group activities. This study also suggests the possible implications of project-and-discovery-based science program: the students can not only learn the contents of study but also apply them creatively; the students can cultivate critical thinking skills that can be a fundamental base for a life-time leaner; the students can naturally acquire the abilities of communication and coordination. Project-and-discovery-based program is currently used in the various disciplines. However, the field of gifted education does not yet implement this type of program. So the overall contribution of this study is to show the successful implementation of project-and-discovery-based science program in developing optimal teaming experience for gifted children in the domain of science, since this type of study is most compatible with the characteristic of the gifted children. children.
This study was conducted for the purpose of developing an education program using smart apps that supports free play of children based on STEAM education and verifying its effectiveness. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, contents for using smart apps based on STEAM education for children's free play were derived through literature and data collection and field surveys in related fields, and a program was developed based on this. This program is a teaching strategy in which teachers and children interact at the start, middle, and end of free play using the 'Free Play' app installed on a smartphone. An experimental study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the program using smart apps that support children's free play. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the application of this program improves the self-regulation of children. This study is a teaching strategy to support both teachers and children during free play time, the core of early childhood education, and developed and applied the program with the idea of convergence of engineering and education, and hopes that it will be a starting point for revitalizing education using smart apps in the future education field.

The purpose of this study is to develop a short-term ICT training course that helps teachers from non-computing disciplines in developing countries acquire flipped-learning content creation skills. A field application is performed by applying the developed ICT training course to secondary school teachers of non-ICT subject specialisms in Laos. In the field study, participating teachers' teaching efficacy on ICT and satisfaction toward the training course are measured. The result of t-test on ICT teaching efficacy showed statistically significant increases in teachers' self-efficacy related to ICT use, both personal efficacy and outcome expectancy. The satisfaction survey performed after training showed that trainees were highly satisfied with the training course. The results of this field study could be used to propose a short-term teacher education model that could be applicable to teachers in other developing countries.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an e-Learning program about medication for nurses to enhance nurses' medication performance ability and to analyze learners' responses after studying with this program. Method: For the development of the e-Learning program, the NBISD(Network Based Instructional Systems Design) model, suggested by Jung(I999) was applied as a basic model and the instruction design theory of Gagne & Briggs(1979) and ARCS theory of Keller(I983) were applied. After the operation of this program for one month to 34 new nurses, learners' responses were analyzed. Result: Learners' knowledge of medication was greatly improved after this program. In addition learners' satisfaction with the overall education program, help in field applicability, ease of screen shift and exploration, and tutor activities were high and the contents were regarded suitable for e-Learning. Many things were advantageous such as easy accessibility, easy understandability with pictures and flash animation, practical cases and feedback from a tutor. Provision of a supplementary handout and improvement of a tight time schedule were pointed out as things to be improved. Conclusion: This e-Learning program can be used effectively for medication education for registered nurses, student nurses, and new nurses.
The purpose of this study is to develop an educational program to enhance convergence competence of undergraduate engineering students and analyze its educational effects. Prior to the development of the convergence education program for engineering students, 13 experts in engineering education field surveyed the needs of the convergence education program and 829 students from four engineering colleges in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong area and Honam area were assessed for the level of convergence competency. The educational program was developed based on the needs analysis and the program consisted of four major themes: convergence lecture, convergence competence, convergence practice, and convergence vision. The validity of the program was confirmed through the two expert validation tests. A total of 40 students participated in the selection of 10 students from each of the four universities. As a result of pre-post comparison of students' convergence competencies, the average of all competencies increased, and it was found that there were statistically significant differences in convergence mindset, differentiation mind, commitment, communication, and social value competence. Implications for the improvement of education programs and convergence education were suggested.
