  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the career barriers of students studying dental technology in D-College. Methods: This study targeted 490 college students studying Dental Technology in D-College. The survey about career barriers on this study consisted of 45 questions and was scored with 5-points per question. The corrected data was analyzed by SAS V8 for Windows. Results: The difference analysis of career barriers shows that differences exist depending on gender(p<.01) and serving military service(p<.05). Especially, female students(2.69) and male students(2.65) who didn't serve the military are more susceptible to career barriers. In the sub factors of career barriers, differences exist depending on and in order of gender, serving military service, experience studying one more year to enter the college, day and night, the affiliation of highschool graduated from, and hometown. The correlation between the sub factors of career barriers and perception of career barriers manifested 'Lack of self assurance'(0.84), 'Sense of physical inferiority'(0.76), 'Relationship with other important people'(0.73) and 'Lack of information on occupation' in order. Conclusion: In the factors affecting non-decision on the career, 'Lack of self assurance'(=0.2465) is the highest in terms of influence, followed by 'Difficulty in interpersonal relations’(=0.1801) and 'Lack of information on occupation' (=0.1391).

  • The Kernohan-Woltman notch phenomenon (KWNP) refers to an intracranial lesion causing massive side-to-side mass effect which leads to compression of the contralateral cerebral peduncle against the free edge of the cerebellar tentorium. Diagnosis is based on "paradoxical" motor deficit ipsilateral to the lesion associated with radiologic evidence of damage to the contralateral cerebral peduncle. To date, there is scarce evidence regarding KWNP associated neuroimaging patterns and motor function prognostic factors. A systematic review was conducted on Medline database from inception to July 2021 looking for English-language articles concerning KWNP, in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The research yielded 45 articles for a total of 51 patients. The mean age was 40.7 years-old and the male/female sex ratio was 2/1. 63% of the patients (32/51) suffered from head trauma with a majority of acute subdural hematomas (57%, 29/51). 57% (29/51) of the patients were in the coma upon admission and 47% (24/51) presented pupil anomalies. KWNP presented the neuroimaging features of compression ischemic stroke located in the contralateral cerebral peduncle, with edema in the surrounding structures and sometimes compression stroke of the cerebral arteries passing nearby. 45% of the patients (23/51) presented a good motor functional outcome; nevertheless, no predisposing factor was identified. A Glasgow coma scale (GCS) of more than 3 showed a trend (p=0.1065) toward a better motor functional outcome. The KWNP is a regional compression syndrome oftentimes caused by sudden and massive uncal herniation and leading to contralateral cerebral peduncle ischemia. Even though patients suffering from KWNP usually present a good overall recovery, patients with a GCS of 3 may present a worse motor functional outcome. In order to better understand this syndrome, future studies will have to focus on more personalized criteria such as individual variation of tentorial notch width.

  • When the military before this study, soldiers and local people are dissatisfied with the elements, which satisfy the element that satisfies both parties to find out what could be the previous business that tries to propose measures to the Department of Defense. The results are as follows. First units on the previous business for the difference between soldiers and residents' satisfaction is as follows. Soldiers (3.75), the accountability (4.11) and effort, while important castle residents (3.33) the adequacy (3.64) and communication is of paramount importance in the satisfaction level of availability to be analyzed. Second, the relocation of troops on the Male and Female satisfaction on the differences are as follows. For men, military men (3.73) and accountability efforts, residents (3.40) the adequacy and availability critical deadlines while communicating the case of a woman soldier woman (3.85) the adequacy and close human relationship, social security (3.30) interest on the accountability and communication many to be analyzed. Third Position: Occupational differences in satisfaction are as follows: If a soldier's professionalism and accountability, and conflict from the outset of the adequacy of the officers, while the lowest was from the outset. If the efforts of residents and farmers who emphasize the responsibility and the least amount of conflict, while owners and tenants, operating the adequacy that were relatively important.

  • Background: Males have a higher prevalence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) than females in general, but the reasons for the sex disparity are still obscure. DNA copy number alteration (CNA) is a major feature of solid tumors including HCC, but whether CNA plays a role in sex-related differences in HCC development has never been evaluated. Methods: High-resolution array comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was used to examine 17 female and 46 male HCC patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in Shanghai, China. Two-tailed Fisher's exact or ${\chi}^2$ tests was used to compare CNAs between females and males. Results: The overall frequencies and patterns of CNAs in female and male cases were similar. However, female HCC tumors presented more copy number gains compared to those in males on 1q21.3-q22 (76.5% vs. 37.0%, P = 0.009), 11q11 (35.3% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.0002) and 19q13.31-q13.32 (23.5% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.004), and loss on 16p11.2 (35.3% vs. 6.5%, P = 0.009). Relative to females, male cases had greater copy number loss on 11q11 (63.0% vs. 17.6%, P = 0.002). Further analyses showed that 11q11 gain correlated with 19q13.31-q13.32 gain (P = 0.042), 11q11 loss (P = 0.011) and 16p11.2 loss (P = 0.033), while 1q21.3-q22 gain correlated with 19q13.31-q13.32 gain (P = 0.046). Conclusions: These findings suggest that CNAs may play a role in sex-related differences in HBVassociated HCC development.

  • Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ) of Horne & Ostberg(1976) was translated into a Korean version, and MEQ and life habit inventory was administrated with approximately 900 university students. The distribution of MEQ score was normal. Arising time and bedtine for weekdays and holidays came in the order of morning type, intermediate and evening-type. And the deviation for the evening-type was greatest. Also, the deviation of sleep length for the evening-type was greater than the morning- type. There were tendencies that the bed time and arising time of the male were slightly later than those of the female, and the sleep length of the male was a little longer than that of the female. It also appeared that the arising time was later in the male who completed the military services than those who did not in the chronotype. And the sleep length of the non-served male was longer than that of the served one. Such tendencies noticeably appeared especially the evening-type. The evening-type was subject to heavy variability in bedtime. arising time, and sleep length. The sleep latency of the evening- type was longer and mood on arising was worse. And the ratio of nap or light sleep was higher in these subjects than in others. These results suggested that evening-type students had more irregular and/or flexible sleep-wake habits than the morning-type.

  • Three German Shepherd dogs (5 years old, 30 kg, male; 4 years old, 23 kg, female; 4 years old, 24 kg, female) with history of acute vomiting, hemorrhagic diarrhea, anorexia and dullness were admitted to veterinary clinic in the military working dogs training corp (MWDTC). All of them showed same symptoms after ingestion the $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar to control ecto-parasites infection in field. One dog was operated by gastrotomy and the $5{\sim}6$ pieces of the $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar were removed. The dog was completely cured by intensive care within 2 hours after $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar ingestion. However, two dogs were operated by gastrotomy and intensive care over 24 hours after $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar ingestion but died. In autopsy, the $5{\sim}6$ pieces of hard materials were found in the stomach, and severe thickness, congestion hemorrhage and swelling of the stomach walls and mucous membrane were observed. In these cases, it was suggested that the first aid of treatment such as gastrotomy within two hours after $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar ingestion as soon as possible was helpful for attenuating of toxicosis.

  • The two main forms of myositis ossificans are congenital and acquired. Either form is rare in the head and neck region. The acquired form is often due to trauma, with bullying as a fairly common cause. This report of myositis ossificans of the platysma in an 11-year-old female patient emphasizes the need for a high index of suspicion in unexplainable facial swellings in children and the benefit of modern investigative modalities in their management.
