  • The desired ZMP is different from the actual ZMP of a humanoid robot during actual walking and stand upright. A humanoid robot must maintain its stable posture although external force is given to the robot. A humanoid robot can know its stability with ZMP. Actual ZMP may be moved out of the foot-print polygons by external disturbance or uneven ground surfaces. If the position of ZMP moves out of stable region, the stability can not be guaranteed. Therefore, The control of the ZMP is necessary. In this paper, ZMP control algorithm is proposed. Herein, the ZMP control uses difference between desired ZMP and actual ZMP. The proposed algorithm gives reaction moment with ankle joint when external force is supplied. 3D simulator shows motion of a humanoid robot and calculated data.

  • This paper presents an extended Twyman-Green interferometry that enables simultaneous and real-time measurement of 5-DOF motion errors of the translational moving stage. This method uses a null balancing technique in which two plane mirrors are used as target mirrors to generate an interferometric fringe utilizing the optical principles of Twyman-Green interferometry. Fringe is detected by 2D photodiode array for high-speed measurement. Errors are then independently suppressed by activation of piezoelectric actuators through real-time feedback control while the machine axis is moving. Experimental results demonstrate that a machine axis can be controlled with motion errors about 10 nm in linear displacement, 0.15 arcsec in angular displacement

  • Twin-servo mechanism is used to increase the payload capacity and speed of high precision motion control system. In this paper, we propose a robust synchronizing motion control algorithm to cancel out the skew motion of twin-servo system caused by different dynamic characteristics of two driving systems and the vibration generated by high accelerating and decelerating motions. This proposed control algorithm consists of separate feedback motion control algorithm of each driving system and skew motion compensation algorithm between two systems. Robust model reference tracking controller is proposed as a separate motion controller and its disturbance attenuation property is shown. For the synchronizing motion, skew motion compensation algorithm is designed, and the stability of whole Closed loop system is proved based on passivity theory.

  • In this paper, we consider the track-following control problem in the optical data storage systems in the presence of the eccentricity. The eccentricity results in the radial deviation of the objective lens so that it degrades the reliability of the data decoding system. To cope with the eccentricity, an adaptive disturbance compensation technique is newly proposed in the time domain based on a disturbance observer of reduced order, which effectively estimates the low frequency components of the disturbance. The proposed compensator is simply added to the conventional feedback control. The error dynamics of the observer and the sensitivity analysis are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Finally, through experiments in an optical storage system, the feasibility of the proposed approach is verified.

  • In this paper, a controller design method for the DC motor driving system is described emphasizing the specified degree of accuracy undergoing large time varying disturbances, coulomb friction and arm-load resonance. A feedforward compensation technique using the current controller is proposed, and resulting in the performance improvement as well as the implementational simplicity. A time-weighted quadratic performance index is used in the optimization of the controller, which is a salient way of obtaining better closed-loop performance in a simple manner. Computer simulations are also given to show the usefulness of the proposed techniques.

  • A method is presented for the design and fabrication of the temperature compensation circuits on the Clark electrodes for measuring the dissolved oxygen(DO) concentration. The discussion includes a method of the sensor interface circuits for the DO sensor. Typical polarograms for the DO probes under test using this sensor circuits are presented. High accuracy over 99 % of the I to V conversion using the proposed circuit is verified. Temperature dependence for the test DO probe is well compensated automatically using the thermistor($2k\Omega,\;25^{\circ}C$) in series with correction resistor in the feedback loop of the op-amp circuit in the temperature range of the 0-50$^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper presents a new software-based on-line dead-time compensation technique for single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) inverter system. To improve the mitigation of dead-time effect around the zero-crossing point of phase current, a selective harmonic elimination of instantaneous feedback current is used as an additional part of conventional current control scheme. Simulation and experimental results are shown to verify the effectiveness of proposed compensation method in the grid-connected power distributed generation systems.

  • This paper presents the straightness compensation system which is a device for improving the machining accuracy of ultra-precision machines by synchronizing the position of diamond tool tip with machine error motion. Sine it is actuated by piezoelectric actuator with highly nonlinear hysteresis characteristics, the feedback control schemes such as Proportional Integral(PI), are required and realized by measuring the displacements of diamond tool tip. for the better tracking performance, the controller was implemented using TMS320C32 32bit floating-point DSP which is fast so that the real-time control is possible. In addition, stand alone type DSP board was chosen fur the easy assembly into the ultra-precision machines. The experimental results show good command tracking performance and the motion error of the machine is satisfactorily compensated during the machining process.

  • In order to reject the steady-state tracking error, it is common to introduce integral compensators in servosystems for constant reference signals. However, if the mathematical model of the plant is exact and no disturbance input exists, the integral compensation is not necessary. From this point of view, a two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF) servosystem has been proposed, in which integral compensation is effective only when there is modeling error for disturbance input. The present paper considers the design problem of 2DOF servosystem incorporating an observer. It is shown that if a state feedback gain and a observer gain satisfy a condition, the integral effect does not appear when modeling error or disturbance input exists. This result means that the servosystem does not behave as a 2DOF servosystem.
