  • As a part of the "Dust, Ice, and Gas In Time" (DIGIT) key program on Herschel, we observed GSS30-IRS1, a Class I protostar located in Ophiuchus (d =125 pc), with Herschel/Photodetector Array Camera and Spectrometer (PACS). More than 70 lines were detected within a wavelength range from 50 ${\mu}m$ to 200 ${\mu}m$: CO lines from J = 14-13 to 41-40, several $H_2O$ lines of Eup = 100 K to 1500 K, 16 transitions of OH rotational lines, and two atomic [O I] lines at 63 and 145 ${\mu}m$. The [C II] line, known as a tracer of externally heated gas by the interstellar radiation field, is also detected at 158 ${\mu}m$. All lines, except [O I] and [C II], are detected only at the central spaxel of $9^{\prime\prime}.4{\times}9^{\prime\prime}.4$. The [O I] emission is extended along a NE-SW orientation, which is consistent with the known outflow direction, while the [C II] line is detected over all spaxels. One possible explanation of the detection of the [C II] line and no correlation of its spatial distribution with any other molecular emission is the existence of the enhanced ISRF nearby GSS30-IRS1. One interesting feature of GSS30-IRS1 is that the continuum emission is extended beyond the point-spread function (PSF), unlike the molecular line emission, indicative of significant external heating. The best-fit continuum model of GSS30-IRS1 with the physical structure including flared disk, envelope, and outflow shows that the internal luminosity is 11 $L_{\odot}$, and the region is also externally heated by a radiation field enhanced by a factor of 25 compared to the local standard interstellar field.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the specificity of grids to define the characteristics of clothes styles in the Joseon Dynasty period. The significance of examining of the specificity of grids is to find out arbitrary types of the features of grids involved in structuring the Jeogori in the Joseon Dynasty period one by one. The Visual Linguistic Theory was introduced as a methodological tool to exquisitely analyze the characteristics of grids in deep structures of Jeogori in the Joseon Dynasty period. This theory strives to examine sample distribution, the distribution of samples by quality and the distribution of the types of ploidy features. Through the examination, the results are as follows. The grid systems of the Jeogori consisted of diverse proportion systems reaching 86 cases, that is, sequence systems composed of multi-functional, multi-combined bodies. Most ornamental grids had feature angles distributed in a range of $2-20^{\circ}$ that showed a common preference for low sloped diagonal lines or small curvature. Although the preference for certain feature angles were prominent, the feature angles that were used were generally distributed evenly among diverse feature angles to show the characteristics of separation. Therefore, Jeogori makers in the Joseon Dynasty period can be considered as having experimented with many proportion systems to show their aesthetics. In conclusion, based on the results of the examination of feature distributions and related methods to allocate ploidy features, O-type accounted for 66% and thus it was identified that the Jeogori was characterized by O-type. Therefore, it was identified that the characteristic of the Jeogori in the Joseon Dynasty period consisted of O-type fractal structures which are formative structures unique to our nation.

  • While several machine learning technique has been implemented for Android malware categorization, there is still difficulty in analyzing due to overfitting problem and including of un-executable code, etc. In this paper, we introduce our implemented tool to address these problems. Tool is consists of approximately 1,500 lines of Java code, and perform Flow analysis on set of APIs, or on control flow graph. Our tool groups all the API by its relationship and only perform analysis on actually executing code. Using our tool, we grouped 39032 APIs into 4972 groups, and 12123 groups with result of including class names. We collected 7,000 APKs from 7 families and evaluated our feature reduction technique, and we also reduced features again with selecting APIs that have frequency more than 20%. We finally reduced features to 263-numbers of feature for our collected APKs.

  • A vanishing point is a point on an image to which parallel lines projected from a real space gather. A vanishing point in a road space provides important spatial information. It is possible to improve the position of an extracted lane or generate a depth map image using a vanishing point in the road space. In this paper, we propose a method of detecting vanishing points on images taken from a vehicle's point of view using Deep Neural Network (DNN) and Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HoG). The proposed algorithm is divided into a HoG feature extraction step, in which the edge direction is extracted by dividing an image into blocks, a DNN learning step, and a test step. In the learning stage, learning is performed using 2,300 road images taken from a vehicle's point of views. In the test phase, the efficiency of the proposed algorithm using the Normalized Euclidean Distance (NormDist) method is measured.

  • Mutually-actuated-nano-electromechanical (MA-NEM) memory switches are proposed for scalability improvement. While conventional NEM memory switches have fixed electrode lines, the proposed MA-NEM memory switches have mutually-actuated cantilever-like electrode lines. Thus, MA-NEM memory switches show smaller deformations of beams in switching. This unique feature of MA-NEM memory switches allows aggressive reduction of the beam length while maintaining nonvolatile property. Also, the scalability of MA-NEM memory switches is confirmed by using finite-element (FE) simulations. MA-NEM memory switches can be promising solutions for reconfigurable logic (RL) circuits.

  • DLLs(Delay Locked Loops) have widely been used in many systems in order to achieve the clock synchronization. A SMD (Synchronous Mirror Delay) structure is used both for skew reduction and for DCC (Duty Cycle Correction). In this paper, a SMD based DLL with DCC using Reduced Delay Lines is proposed in order to reduce the clock skew and correct the duty cycle. The merged structure allows the forward delay array to be shared between the DLL and the DCC, and yields a 25% saving in the number of the required delay cells. The designed chip was fabricated using a $0.25{\mu}m$ 1-poly, 4-metal CMOS process. Measurement results showed the 3% duty cycle error when the input signal ranges from 80% to 20% and the clock frequency ranges from 400MHz to 600MHz. The locking operation needs 3 clock and duty correction requires only 5 clock cycles as feature with SMD structure.

  • As part of the DIGIT key program, we observed GSS30-IRS1, a Class I object located in Ophiuchus (d=125 pc), with Herschel-PACS. More than 70 lines were detected in 50-200 micron band including CO, OH, H2O, and [OI]. All lines, except for [OI], were detected only at the central spaxel of $9.4^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\times}9.4^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ while the [OI] emission is extended along the NE-SW direction. One interesting feature in GSS30-IRS1 is that the continuum is extended beyond PSF, unlike line emission. It suggests that the external heating is important in GSS30-IRS1. For detail analysis of line fluxes, we apply the non-LTE LVG model, RADEX as well as simple rotational diagrams. We also use the Monte Carlo radiative transfer package, RADMC-3D to understand the heating mechanism of dust grains around GSS30-IRS1. We will discuss about heating and cooling processes associated with GSS30-IRS1.

  • Vision system is an indispensable part of constructing the chess-playing robot. Chessboard detection and pieces localization in the captured image of robot's camera are important steps for processes followed such as pieces recognition, move calculation, and robot controlling. We present a method for detecting the Janggi chessboard and pieces based on the edge and color feature. Hough transform combined with line extraction is used for segmenting the chessboard and warping it to form the rectangle shape in order to detect and interpolate the lines of chessboard. Then we detect the existence of pieces and their side by applying the saliency map and checking the color distribution at piece locations. While other methods either work only with the empty chessboard or do not care about the piece existence, our method could detect sufficiently side and position of pieces as well as lines of the chessboard even if the occlusion happens.

  • Transport of carbon and boron impurity ions parallel to magnetic field lines in the tokamak SOL (scrape-off layer) is numerically investigated for a one-dimensional steady state. The spatial distributions of density and velocity of the impurity ions in a steady state are calculated by finite difference method for a single-fluid model. The calculated results show that among forces acting on SOL particles thermal force produced tv plasma temperature gradient is a principal force determining the feature of impurity distribution profiles in the tokamak edge. However, strong collisional friction forces appearing dominant in front of the diverter plate restrain impurity ion flows due to temperature gradients from moving toward the midplane. Consequently, the stagnation point develops in the impurity flow by these two forces near the diverter region, in which ion flows change their directions. Impurity ions turn out to be accumulated at the stagnation points, where peaked profiles of highly-ionized state ions are relatively predominant over those of low-ionized state ions.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for separating text lines in handwritten Korean address images. The most remarkable feature of the proposed method is to use a modified projection technique. named a partial projection technique. A projection based text line separation method which projects the whole address image in horizontal direction to find split points for text line separation cannot avoid failing separation in case of images with a little skew or overlap between vertically neighboring text lines. To overcome this problem, we have introduced a partial projection technique which splits an address image into a few partial address images to be equal width and then project them each horizontally. The experiment done with 989 handwritten Korean address images extracted from live mails shows the superiority of the proposed method. The correct text-line separation rate fir the testing images was about 91.5%.
