Store Patronage Mix Behavior between Fashion Outlet and Department Store Consumers (패션아웃렛과 백화점 이용 소비자의 점포혼합애고행동)

  • The purpose of this study was 1) to find out the consumer patronage mix of department and fashion outlet stores, 2) to compare the clothing and price attitudes among store patronage groups and 3) to compare the importance of the stores' attributes among the store patronage groups. The subjects were 381 female consumers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. The data was analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range Test and Cronbach's Alpha. The results were as follows. First, clothing purchasing attitudes of the total respondents were classified by three factors: fashion/confident oriented, appearance oriented, and brand-name oriented. Also, clothing price attitudes were composed of three factors: price/quality-prestige inference, discount/low price pursuit and benefit/value pursuit. In addition, the importance of the store's attributes was composed of five factors: convenience/service, concern of fashion outlet store, brand-name/fashionability, awareness of fashion outlet store, and practical advantage of the store. Second, the department store patronage group was significantly different from the fashion outlet store patronage group in clothing attitude, price attitude, and the importance of the store attribute. Third, the responses of the department store patronage group were significantly different from those of the fashion outlet store patronage group in product reliability and awareness of the fashion outlet store.

Effects of Shopping Orientation on Brand Loyalty and Shopping Satisfaction of Fashion Outlet Consumers (패션 아울렛 소비자의 쇼핑성향이 브랜드 충성도 및 쇼핑만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study were to identify shopping orientation for fashion outlet consumers and its significance in influencing brand loyalty and shopping satisfaction. This study will propose results which help to better understand shopping orientation of fashion outlet consumers. A questionnaire was administered to 326 20s male and female living in Daegu Gyeongbuk during October of 2008. Data were analyzed by using Factor analysis, Reliability analysis, t-test and Regression analysis. The results of the research are as follows: First, The shopping orientation could be into 5 dimensions: pleasure tendency, fashion tendency, name brand tendency, prudence buying tendency, economic tendency. Brand loyalty were factor analyzed resulting three factors such as brand loyalty, brand care and brand knowledge. Brand loyalty factors of brand loyalty and brand knowledge had a positive effect on fashion tendency, name brand tendency. Brand care has a positive effect on name brand tendency and economic tendency. Second, Shopping satisfaction were factor analyzed resulting five factors such as product, store atmosphere, service store reputation, location convenience and price. Outlet product had a positive effect on fashion tendency, name brand tendency, prudence buying tendency and while all other factors showed a positive effect on preferences to follow trends. However, outlet price had a positive effect on only those consumers possessing a economic tendency.

The Effect of Store Characteristics of Outlet on Consumption Emotion, Relationship Quality, and Loyalty (아웃렛의 점포선택속성이 소비감정, 관계품질, 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is to examine the structural relationships among store choice attributes, consumption emotion, relationship quality, and loyalty of Outlet. The data were collected from customers who have purchased clothing at the fashion outlet stores, For data analysis and structural equation model were analyzed by using LISREL. The subjects were male/female consumer experienced in purchasing clothes at fashion outlet stores. The results of this study are as follows: First, product, advertising, and instore atmostphere had significantly positive effect on consumption emotion. Second, consumption emotion had significantly positive effect on relationship quality(consumer's satisfaction and trust) and loyalty. Third, relationship quality(consumer's satisfaction and trust) had significantly positive effect on loyalty.

Comparison of the Salesperson's Service on Fashion Retailing Formats - Focused on Department Store, Discount Store, and Outlet Store - (패션 유통업태간 소비자가 요구하는 판매원의 서비스 차원 비교(I) - 백화점, 할인점, 아울렛몰을 중심으로 -)

  • This paper was to examine the salesperson's service that the consumer demands in different types of fashion retailing formats including department store, discount store and outlet store. Data has been collected from June to August in 2005 in Pusan and Seoul on subject of 1000 adult over18 years old and 979 pieces were used to analyze. Data analysis was conducted by factor analysis, regression using the SPSS statistics package program. Services in common in 3 fashion retailing formats were "individual concerning", "kindness, courtesy/customer respect", "quick correspondence/convenience", and "product knowledge". Unique services that consumer demanded for the department store were professional and polite attitude; for the discount store, honesty and convenience for refund and exchange; for the outlet store, wide range of product selection. The results has shown that the part of salesperson's service dimensions influenced the consumer's purchase, repurchasing intention and the level of satisfaction. Therefore fashion marketers need to carefully implicate operation and service management depending on the retailing formats.

A Study on Pursuing Benefit and Satisfaction at Casual and Official Wear of Fashion Outlet Users (패션아울렛 소비자의 캐주얼 및 정장 의류제품 추구혜택과 만족도 연구)

  • This study was to examine the factor structure of pursuing benefit and satisfaction at casual and official wear, to analyze the differences of pursuing benefit, satisfaction, and clothing purchase behavior among the consumer groups segmented by store pursuing benefits, and to provide useful information for establishment of marketing strategies. The subjects were 500 female consumers experienced in purchasing clothes at fashion outlet stores. A total of 500 questionnaires were analyzed with $X^2$-test, ANOVA, factor analysis and Duncan's multiple range test. The results were as follows: 1. Pursuing benefit and satisfaction at casual wear and official wear were composed of 5 factors. 2. Pursuing benefit and satisfaction at casual and offcial wear, and clothing purchasing behavior variables such as informants, frequency of purchase, shopping time, and average monthly expenditure on clothes were significantly different among the 3 segmented groups. Product pursuing group was shown to seek higher level of esthetic feeling, suitability for self image and body, fsshion and symbolic meaning of brand than other groups in casual and official wear and to be most satisfied at symbolic meaning of brand, social recognition, and practicality in casual wear of outlet and at suitability and social recognition in official wear of outlet. Store convenience pursuing group was shown to seek higher level of suitability for self image and body, quality, and practicality than other groups in casual and official wear and to be most satisfied at quality and practicality in casual wear of outlet and at practicality and suitability in of cial wear of outlet. Price pursuing group was shown to seek and to be most satisfied at practicality in casual and official wear of outlet.

The effects of the Service Orientation of Fashion Organization on the salesperson's Customer Orientation - Focused on salespersons in department, agency, outlet - (패션조직의 서비스 지향성이 고객접점 판매원의 고객지향성에 미치는 영향 - 백화점, 대리점, 아울렛 매장의 의류 판매원을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between service orientation of fashion organization and employee's customer orientation. For this study, salespersons in clothing stores were selected as the subjects. We used 4 factors SERV*OR Scale: service leadership, human resource management, employee's empowerment, service system as an organizational service orientation. The results are as follows: First, Service Orientation of the company in fashion field affects the employee's customer orientation. In other words, a fashion company with a higher service orientation will have employees with a higher customer orientation. Second service orientation factors revealed differences depending on the store. Department stores had no effect on factors such as employee's empowerment, service system, but agency stores and outlet stores had effects on all factors. This influential factor is created due to the difference in fashion distribution. Human resource management especially seemed to carry weight among the factors in all stores. So, first and foremost fashion companies should make efforts on education, training of employee.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the classification and operation systems of fashion offline stores. This research analyzed fashion literatures, articles and papers published by fashion-related companies and interviewed fashion practitioners. This research can be used as information for practitioners of the domestic fashion brand and students of fashion majors. The classification and operation systems of fashion offline stores are as follows. 1. The types of fashion offline store is classified as a form of road shop, department store, complex shopping center, select shop, outlet, and fashion wholesale retail specialty store. 2. The road shop is classified flagship store, franchise store, direct sales store, and street brand store. 3. The department store is recently using strategy to improve the profit rate, as setting up the select shop, expand the import contemporary brand stores, the men's brand stores, SPA brand stores, the street brand stores, and the soho internet shopping mall brands instead of reducing the national brands. 4. Most forms of fashion offline stores enhanced the functions to combine the catering, cultural activities and purchasing the lifestyle-related products, as well as fashion items. 5. The types of the operation system in fashion offline stores is classified as direct operations, franchise operations, middle management operations, and fully insert operations. 6. Franchise operations are tended to decline, however middle manager operations are overwhelming.

Purchasing Behavior of Outlet Store Patronage Consumers (상설할인매장애고자의 구매행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual state and problems of outlet stores. And examine store attributes shopping orientations information sources according to demographic characteristics for outlet store patronage group. The questionnaires were administered to 400 women living in Taegu. The data were analyzed by using Frequency Percentage Factor Analysis MANOVA. The results of the study were as follows; 1) Outlet stores in Taegu area were run as the type of agency and dealt in most brands of their own companies, There were plenty of as-sortment and merchandise. The discount rate was 50-60% Stores' locations were scattered which made shopping environment incon-venient. 2) The store attributes were composed of five factors such as fashion & products diver-sity service store reputation convenience and price. Shopping orientation were com-posed of six factors such as self-confidence for shopping brand oriented store loyalty & near-store oriented economical self-assumed shopping and difficulty of choice. Information sources were composed of four factors such as print media & display personal information advertising and store visit. 3) There were significant differences be-tween patronage group and non-patronage group in store reputation service fashion & products diversity. Patronage group is more satisfied with these three factors. There were significant differences between patronage group and non-patronage group in brand oriented and economical Non-patronage group was more brand oriented and patronage group was more economical. There were significant difference between patronage group and non-patronage group in print dedia & display factos. Non-patronage group made more use of print media& display than patronage group as information sources. There were significant differences between patronage group non-patrpnage group in age marital status and levle of education.

A Study on the Characteristics of Patronage Consumer Related to Types of Oultlet Store (상설할인 매장 유형별 애고 소비자의 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this were 1) to classify patronage consumer of outlet store related to types of outlet store, 2) to investigate differences among groups in 4 variables(importance of store attributes, shopping orientations, and the use of information source, demographic variables). The questionnaire was administered to 344 women living in Seoul, and the methods used to analyze the data were Frequecy, Factor analysis, ANOVA, F-test, and X2 test. The results were as follows: 1) outlet store consumers were classified into 3 patronage group: patronage group of outlet store for imported licence brands, for domestic brands, and for famous brands in off-price store system. 2)There were some significant differences among 3 groups. Those who patronize outlet store of imported licence brands were most likely to give importance on exclusiveness of store, to be brand loyal/conscious, not to enjoy classical style, to use information of fashion publications/TV, observations, and to be highly educated.
