패션 디자이너 브랜드 '알렉산더 맥퀸' 작품에 나타난 나비 이미지 패션 디자인 (Butterfly Image Fashion Design in the Fashion Designer Brand 'Alexander McQueen')

  • This study focused on the fashion designer brand 'Alexander McQueen' to determine how butterflies are used in modern fashion through the sensibilities of certain designers. To this end, both a literature review and empirical research were conducted. First, we examined the origin of the word and appearance characteristics of butterflies based on prior research and a book, and also surveyed the tendencies used by the fashion designer brand Alexander McQueen. Second, out of 239 items announced by the fashion designer brand "Alexander McQueen" RTW (Ready to Wear) ranging from the S/S Collection in 2008 to the 2018-9 F/W collection, 73 pieces deemed to be fashion using butterfly images were collected through www.samsung.net and www.firstview.com, then analyzed based on timing and aesthetic characteristics. Results. The analysis by time period was divided into fantasy, handicraft, mix and match, and aesthetic characteristics shown in the order of compromise beauty, rhythmical beauty, and voluptuous beauty. The purpose of this study was to determine how butterflies are expressed in fashion based on the sensibility of a specific designer in modern fashion, the fashion designer brand 'Alexander McQueen'. Based on the results of this study, we hope that the information presented herein on fashion of natural images will serve as a basic material for similar research or design ideas as an example of designs based on butterfly images.

  • This research aims to study comparatively on the aesthetic characteristics of the Technology Art and Technology Fashion Images in the 20th century. For this purpose, literature survey and demonstrative study were undertaken. The results were as follows ; As the concept of the art in the 20th century has been broadened by the development of technology and the creative application of it in the art, the relationship of the art and fashion has been much closer. The Technology Art and Technology Fashion Images in the 20th century have been developed by using technology itself and its artifacts directly or indirectly to express their attitude on the advancement of technology of the time. The plasticity of the Technology Art and Technology Fashion Images in the 20th century was identified as geometrical forms, high-tech materials, futuristic colors and lights and dynamic expression. The internal meanings of the Technology Art and Technology Fashion Images in the 20th century were identified as functionality, arrant-garde, utopian future orientation to improve human's life.

이국적(exotic) 이미지의 유형 확장 -2001년~2006년 국내 여성복을 중심으로- (The Expanding of Types of Exotic Image -Focusing on the Domestic Women's Wear from 2001 to 2006-)

  • This study is to define correctly the concept of exotic image that evolved in domestic fashion since 2001 and to analyze the characteristics and current tendency of the domestic fashion items of the exotic image. Thus this study will be helpful in establishing an academic field of the exotic image in the domestic fashion industry which can offer the ideas necessary for the style and item developments. As for the research method of this study, the frequency and content multi-dimensional analysis were used in the investigation of the exotic images appearing in the domestic fashion brands. The types of exotic image are #ecological#, #folk & ethnic costume#, #kitchy bricolage#, #womanish#, #period# types by analyzed with the elements of exotic images in the domestic women#s fashion brand. The exotic image in domestic fashion market in the middle of 2000s is the results of fusion phenomena among various trend styles, and through the compromise and mixture of different elements, exaggerations, and historically different times of old and new. In conclusion, the contemporary concept of exotic image is expanded by the sum of many contributing images. They are the folk ethnic costume image originating from various different cultures and also the fusion images of folk ethnic costumes from non-urban, not-modern, not-industrialized images compromised with unfamiliar codes.

E-girl과 E-boy 패션 이미지에 나타난 디지털 페르소나 (Digital persona in E-girl and E-boy fashion images)

  • The aim of this study is to select MLMA and Noen Eubanks as representatives of Gen Z's unique subculture 'E-girl' and 'E-boy' to analyze fashion images and determine their meaning through the perspective of persona. To conduct this study, a literature review and case studies were combined and fashion images of E-girl and E-boy appearing on social media were analyzed to identify the personas they expressed. A case study of MLMA and Noen Eubanks' Instagram and TikTok account posts showed that grotesque, kitsch, and gender-related images stand out. The digital personae demonstrated by E-girl and E-boy fashion images were demonstrated to be a strange persona that reject perfect beauty and a playful persona escaping from reality and anxiety. Lastly persona of individual identity was shown to be formed. This study provides a basis for understanding and interpreting Gen Z's culture and aesthetics that will lead to future trends. Based on this study, I hope that various studies on E-girl and E-boy apparel will be conducted, and that by understanding the importance of E-girl and E-boy culture for Gen Z (which is paying attention to fashion trends), this can be used as a marketing strategy to consider their characteristics, with data used to inform design development.

3D 프린팅 패션에 나타난 콜라보레이션(Collaboration) 사례연구 (A Case Study on Collaborations in 3D Printing Fashion)

  • The present study observes collaboration methods in which 3D printing was a part of the fashion manufacturing process, expression methods of such cases, and their ripple effects. As a result, the three types of collaborations between fashion designers and other industry fields, fashion brands and 3D printing companies, and fashion designers and artists. Case analysis results and ripple effects found according to each collaboration method were as follows. First, in collaborations found were between fashion designers and other industry fields, 3D printed fashion works with futuristic images were seen through the fusion of future industries, which claim to support cutting edge digital technology, and creative fashion design. As they were mainly collaborations between automobile industries with cutting edge images or digital related industries and fashion designers, they were expressed as a new form of experimental clothing, and were used as strategies to improve future corporate images of the high tech industry. Second, in collaborations between fashion brands and 3D printing technology businesses, the sporting good brands and the shoe industry attempted to let their products be known through the promotion of functional material or ergonomic technology. While they emphasize practicality by mainly using flexible material, they were mainly proposed as functional sporting goods for famous players or as shoe accessories, so methods are still used for public distribution as brand promoting marketing strategies. Third, with collaborations between fashion designers and artists, creative pieces were shown through the grafting of 3D printing technology, the artistry of artists, and the experimentation of fashion designers. In particular, the innovative value of fashion as art was created through the union of the artistic 3D modeling technology support of artists and the creativity of designers. Like this, 3D printing fashion can graft the cutting edge nature of fashion to other industry fields through collaborations, enhancing pacesetting images, and in the fashion field, it can improve possibilities for innovations in the fashion industry through the support of 3D printing technology businesses and artists, raising expectations towards future human living.

SCAMPER에 의한 한국적 이미지의 복식디자인 분석 및 창의적 발상 (Creative Idea and an Analysis of Fashion Design on Korean Image through the SCAMPER Technique)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the plans, which can creatively utilize Korean images by introducing the SCAMPER technique, one of the techniques used to create ideas in the fashion design process. For the research methods, the case study which collects all the masters' theses relating to the fashion design process applied Korean images for recent 10 years and the literature study through books, masters' theses, academic journals' theses, news articles, and Internet data were done together. As for the result of the study, the level of utilization of Korean images in the researches on Korean fashion designs stayed simple utilization, which used a motif as it is in its original form or changed only the size. Furthermore, of the 39 theses reviewed in the study, 59% of them used less than 3 of the 7 SCAMPER items. Therefore, it could be said that the Korean images are restrictively being used in the fashion design studies. If SCAMPER is to be actively utilized as a design process in the future, it is expected that it will make great contributions to the development of creative Korean fashion design.

전통 이미지를 활용한 한국적 패션 컨셉 개발 -신라 여성 복식을 중심으로- (Conceptualizing Korean Fashion with Inspiration from Traditional Images -Focused on Women's Costume in the Silla Dynasty-)

  • This paper accomplishes the following points: First, the costume style held by women in the Silla dynasty are examined. Second, a new fashion concept is drawn from Silla's costume images with lessons from analyzing how major brands from China and Japan have adopted their own traditional images. Third, a Korean fashion concept is crafted to reflect important modern fashion design factors. The conclusions of this study are: The concept of Korean fashion using Silla costume image based on the 2015 S/S trend was developed and suggested as: 'Harmony of Contrast', new beauty created by mutually contrasting things; 'Timeless' transcending time-space flowing from the past, present, to future; 'Empathy' where past and present are harmonized; 'Modern with Antique' expressing a new style modernism where the old retains value. The efforts to express identity via conceptualization of Korean fashion are an effective strategy that satisfies the goals of setting Korea's fashion design apart from others and spreading Korean culture.

The Characteristics of Oriental Color in Contemporary Fashion Design

  • The color is one of the important key words in Fashion arena today. In fashion, the image and concept changes by use of color or color combinations. The purpose of this research is to pursue the characteristics of color and color combinations through analyzing the colors utilized in oriental fashion design. It is necessary to define the oriental fashion design to build a criteria for collecting law materials for analysis of the research. As a conclusion, traditional oriental colors already used in various traditional artifacts were popular in use by many fashion designers with volatile attitudes towards its original symbolic meanings or philosophy. For example, yellow and red stands for gorgeous or sexy images through fashion design instead of express its original symbols of power and prosperity. The Complimentary Color Combination in hue, value and intensity of colors were also found in fashion design impling oriental images. While Contemporary Fashion Trend Color were also used in expressing Oriental images with oriental details considering fashion market. In using Oriental colors The characteristics of oriental colors and its combinations used in fashion designs are significant and their influences are meaningful not only in fashion design but also adjacent design areas.

꽃 이미지 남성복 패션 유형별 디자인 구성요소 분석 (Analysis of design elements by men's fashion type using flower images)

  • This study aims to provide inspiration and methods for menswear design by analyzing elements for men's fashion using flower images. The results are as follows: Men's fashion types with flower images were categorized as classic tailored, casual tailored, casual wear, sports-outdoor. The order of frquency was casual tailored, casual, classic tailored, and sports outdoor. For the classic tailored type, the flower images are related with an X-line silhouette, and the arrangement methods, such as a scattered patterns, one-point patterns, and surface techniques, such as printing and embroidery were used, and similar color or monochromatic schemes appeared sequentially. For the casual tailored type, the flower images are related to an H-line silhouette, arrangement methods such as a scattered pattern, panel pattern, and surface techniques, such as print, embroidery, and jacquard were used, similar color and accent color schemes appeared sequentially. For the casual type, the flower images are related to H-line and Y-line silhouettes, and arrangement methods, such as a scattered pattern, all-round continuous pattern, and panel pattern, and surface techniques, such as print, jacquard, embroidery, and patchwork were used, similar color and contrast color schemes appeared sequentially. For the sports outdoor type, the flower image were related to A-line and H-line silhouettes, arrangement methods, such as a scattered pattern and all-round continuous pattern, and surface techniques, such as print and jacquard were used, monochromatic scheme and contrast color schemes appeared sequentially. Therefore, the flower images in men's fashion were applied to various design elements, and displayed an interesting result, different from conventional design approach.

포스트모더니즘(Postmodernism)과 텍스타일 디자인을 위한 연구 (Developement of Print Designs Inspired from Postmodernity)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the influnce of Postmodernism on 90's fashion trends, and to present applications of it's inspiration to print design. 90's fashion trends represented in fashion magazines, in fashion trend reports, and in related books were anlyzed. Informations referring to two selected target markets were collected by phone interview. In 90's fashion trends, seven fashion images seemed to be influenced from Postmodernism emerged. Based on these seven fashion images, several print designs were created and developed for one domestic market and for one export market.
