  • The present work complies the elastic stress concentration factor for a pipe with local wall thinning, based on detailed three-dimensional elastic FE analysis. To cover practically interesting cases, a wide range of pipe and defect geometries are considered, and both internal pressure and global bending are considered. Resulting values of stress concentration factors are tabulated for practical use, and the effect of relevant parameters such as pipe and defect geometries on stress concentration factors are discussed. The present results would provide valuable information to estimate fatigue damage of the pipe with local wall thinning under high cycle fatigue.

  • This study was conducted to examine the environmental factors of apartments and therefore to suggest elements necessary to plan environments by evaluating and analysing both reside environments and conditions with residents at high-rise apartments in Kumi city. Kyongbuk. Korea. The result of this study is summarized as follows: 1) The motive of residence at apartment showed mainly the better environment of nature. and that the locational condition of those apartments was considered as a good standard for evaluating the apartment. 2) The evaluation of satisfaction showed that residents residing at apartment A tended to be satisfaied with all factors other than ‘complex’ although there was wholly dissatisfaction. In addition. it was shown that apartment B was satisfaied with housing and complex. apartment C with comfort. respectively. and apartment D with housing. 3) The evaluation of image showed that apartment C indicated the lowest variety of its complex while other factors were highly considered. Their image concerning residence was highest in apartment A. most lowest in apartment C. Then. apartment B showed the highest familiarity with and recognition of apartment complex.

  • In the mixed lubrication regime, the roughness effects are very important due to the presence of interacting asperities. An average Reynolds equation using flow factors is very useful to determine effects of surface roughness on mixed lubrication. In this paper, the pressure flow factors and shear stress factor for Gaussian and non-Gaussian surfaces are evaluated in terms of kurtosis and skewness. particularly, the elastic deformation of the surface is considered.

  • This study was undertaken to assess eating out behavior and factors in food choices of 369 college students in Kwangju. 47.1% of subjects ate out at least once a day and lunch was the most frequent meal for eating out. Eating out expenditure was significantly associated with student's allowances. Significant differences were observed in frequency, expenditure of eating out and related factors in food preference between male and female students. Taste was the most considered factor but nutrition was the least considered in food selection of respondents. Among male respondents, the most important nutritive factor was protein followed by calorie and vitamin. However, female counterpart regarded calorie as the most important nutritive factor affecting food selection. Tendency of increased vegetable and fruit consumption was noted in subjects over past a few years. It might be suggested that effective nutrition education for college students be implemented to improve and develop eating out behavior related to nutrition in food selection.

  • Our country is consuming huge source of revenue to improve geometric structure of road with a view to improve safety of the road. However, it is more efficient to provide high-quality pavement markings to the road users. For this purpose, in this study, it is considered the optical theory related to retroreflectivity of pavement marking along with the our country's study literature and foreign. And also considered ur country standard related to pavement marking, made pavement marking sample and measured retroreflectivety. For the experiment, it is selected colors of normal temperature-type paints, grading and content of glass bead as experiment factors. After it is made the same conditions like construction spot, measured retroreflectivity according to the combination of factors and analyzed the optimization of factors.

  • The paradigm shift in housing market has changed consumers' interests to the cost of housing, it is the mos important factor considered in purchasing house recently. In this study, some factors influencing on the cost o: housing and some preference factors considered in purchasing house are analyzed. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is used to analyze preference factors. The results of this study can be used as a decision maker in the initial planning stage of construction industry.

  • In previous studies, a system was developed for classifying items of uninsured cost and for generating factors and formulas by item for calculating accident loss costs. However, the loss cost of stopped production was not considered when the system was being developed. In addition, the system which was developed in previous studies had problems such as input error and data collection, owing to numerous input items. Therefore, this study developed a Revised system which considers the loss cost of stopped production, and a Simple system for improving the problems in input errors and data collection. In this study, unquantifiable factors were not considered. Further study that takes these factors into consideration is necessary.

  • This paper presents the simulation model to decide the mean size of cannibalization aircraft (MSCA) under steady state when an airbase makes use of cannibalization to support the spare parts of an airfleet. In this model, the essential factors such as mission requirements, mission time, failure time, repair time, repair capability, inventory policy, cannivalization rule are considered. The model is constructed with above factors and actual airbase operating rules for a basis. Because of the tangled interdependencies among the each factors, it is inevitable to construct the model by the simulation technique. The mission and support system of the airbase is considered as a closed queueing network with a finite number of unit The troubled aircrafts are repaired in accordance with the priorities that are determined by their repair times. The illustrative example of the model, using the actual data of xx-airbase, is presented. The model would be a useful tool not only to determine the MSCA and the size of scheduled maintenance aircraft but to evaluate the NORS (not operationally ready supply) rate and the availability of an airfleet.

  • The construction industry has the most safety accidents among domestic industries. Special care must be taken because disasters in the construction industry lead to social problems caused by huge property losses and casualties. As a result of this, there is a growing awareness of disasters occurring in the construction industry, and government departments are tightening regulations on safety management. In particular, the OSHA(Occupational Safety and Health Agency) focuses on the expansion of protection targets and the clarification of responsibility in the full amendment OSHA. As a result, a study that focuses on safety management by client's responsibility is needed. In this study, the project performance capability assessment of construction project management contractors, which is being carried out with uniform assessment criteria without considering the characteristics of the construction project, is considered and all the amendments to the OSHA are considered, and the factors were derived for improvement measures.

  • Extraction of impacted third molars is a routine procedure performed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons. However, extractions in middle-aged or elderly individuals are not easy, and there are several factors that need to be considered. These factors include decreased healing potential and the risk of complications increasing with age. In addition, third molars can often be fully or deeply impacted in middle-aged individuals, and pathologic changes, such as cysts, caries, or periodontitis of the adjacent second molar, can develop. Furthermore, the rate of ankylosis and systemic disease increases after middle age. It is considered that these factors acting alone or in combination increase the difficulty of extraction.
