A Study on the Export Priority Indicators of Rice Processed Food for Export Business

  • As the trade among the countries increases, domestic agriculture is facing a crisis. Especially domestic rice industry is suffering from the rice market opening problem and the domestic rice industry itself. As a counter measure against this, despite the promotion of the rice processing food industry, the export of rice processed food has decreased by an average annual rate of 12.3% since 2011 due to the lack of customized export strategy, such as low price competitiveness, insufficient quality and brand management. As a measure, we selected indicators to prioritize establishment of export strategy of rice processed food business and used AHP methodology to draw the weight for each indicators. The selection of export strategy prioritization indicator was based on the marketing mix theory, various previous research reviews and expert consulting. Five higher level indicators and nineteen detailed indicators were derived, and a weighted value of them was analyzed using a professional package. As a result, the relative importance of higher level indicators was 45.5% for product differentiation, 18.4% for management competence, 13.0% for export infrastructure, 12.0% for product pricing, and 11.1% for product distribution. The relative importance of the lower level indicators was 17.3% for product safety, 15.3% for product quality, 9.1% for management expertise, and 7.0% for product brand. This result is expected to be used as export strategy indicators of rice processed food export business.

한국기업의 해외정부조달분야 수출증대방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Export Promotion Strategy to Foreign Government Procurement Markets for Korean Firms)

  • Recently, the world government procurement market has been greatly opened thanks to the WTO Government Procurement Agreement and FTA etc..In spite of that, many companies trying to export their products into overseas procurement market have been still facing many kinds of invisible barriers and practices for restricting the market access. With the survey results, this study aims to suggest strategic and political implications for the exporting companies in the procurement area for preparing the marketing strategy and introducing the export assistance regime and developing the negotiation position in the concerned FTA. This study has showed some kinds of important implications for the export promotion in the area. Firstly, the companies have to try to increase their products competitiveness, to strength efforts for bids information gathering, to use special program for the foreign companies in some countries. Secondly, the Korean Government also has to try to establish a realistic system for gathering many information about the foreign government procurement market, to assist the companies's export marketing, to introduce the global standards for adapting international technical specifications, and to conclude the FTA agreement with the concerned developing countries in the procurement area etc..

Analysis of Priority Countries and Products for Indonesian Export Diversification in Latin America

  • Purpose - Indonesian economy often receives negative impact from external factors, particularly through trade linkage. To mitigate that impact, the export market and product diversification should be established. Latin America is one of the potential regions to augment the Indonesian export market. Research design, data, and methodology - This study attempts to classify the potential market and product for Indonesian export, particularly in Latin America, by using panel regression, trade complementarity, and export similarity index over the period 2000-2015. Regression was also used to examine whether the presence of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) can support diversification. Results - Based on regression results, those indexes established Chile, Uruguay, Suriname, and Ecuador as the priority countries with the products: animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes; chemicals and related products; miscellaneous manufactured articles; commodities and transactions. Conclusions - The results of the regression concludes that the trade complementarity index gave a significant positive effect to boost Indonesian export, whereas, the export similarity index gave a significant negative effect. The regression also conclude that ITPC gave a significant positive impact on Indonesian export. For instance, the government should prioritize those countries and products and also develop ITPC there to optimize Indonesian export.

새만금신항 활성화를 위한 전라북도 수출구조 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Export Structure in Jeollabuk-do for the Activation of Saemangeum New Port)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the import and export volume of Jeollabuk-do to establish a plan to activiation Saemangeum New Port. To this end, this study utilized the HHI(Herfindahl-Hirschman Index), LQ(Location Quotient) analysis using the annual data set from the Korea Trade Statistics Promotion Institution between 2015 to 2020. As a result, it has been confirmed that the degree of export volume concentration (HHI (Herfindahl-Hirschman Index)) in Jeollabuk-do has been increasing over the past 5 years. According to results of LQ(Location Quotient) analysis, Brazil had the highest index in the case of exporting countries, and Meat, edible meat offal (HS 2) had the highest index in the case of export items. This paper is meaningful in analyzing the export structure using import and export volumes and proposing a plan to improve the competitiveness of Saemangeum New Port.

  • 선진 외국인 투자기업 유치를 통해 수출진흥, 고용증대, 기술향상의 추구와 지역사회개발촉진을 위해 설치된 익산자유무역지대는 1980년대 중반 이후 외국인 투자업체, 수출, 고용이 감소되면서 그 기능은 크게 약화되어 수출자유지대로서의 존재가치가 무의미한 실정이다 익산자유무역지대의 기능의 약화 요인은 적지선정에 있어 수출자유지대의 기능 활성화를 위해 필요한 입지요인과 지역이 지니고 있는 입지여건을 고려하지 않고 선정됨으로서 설립초기부터 입지상의 문제가 내재되어 있었다. 또한 현재의 노동집약적인 지역산업구조는 저임금에 기초한 노동집약적 업체의 집적지라는 부정적인 인식으로 작용하여 기술집약적인 첨단산업으로의 자유무역지대의 산업구조 개편에 어려움을 주고 있다. 그리고 정책의 일관성 부족으로 인한 협소한 부지면적과 부족한 확장공간은 기업의 집적효과와 규모의 경제를 약화시켰으며, 열악한 입지여건을 개선시키고 지역의 동태적 비교우위를 창출하려는 정부의 정책과 의지부족은 외국인 투자기업의 투자 유인력을 약화시키고 있다.

농산물 수출활성화를 위한 수출물류비의 경제적 효과 분석 (Analysis of economic effect of export logistics support system for export of agricultural products in Korea)

  • 우리나라는 농산물 수출확대를 위하여 농산물 수출지원제도를 운영하고 있으며 수출물류비지원사업도 여기에 포함되어 있다. 수출물류비지원을 통한 수출지원사업을 통해 농산물의 수출확대는 농업부문의 수출산업화는 물론 신수요 창출과 국내 농산물 가격의 안정화에도 기여한다. 우리나라가 DDA 협상에서 개도국지위를 유지하게 되면 WTO 규정이 허용하는 범위 내에서 수출보조의 지속적인 지원이 일정기간까지 가능하나 개도국지위를 상실하게 되면 수출보조금으로 지원하는 수출물류비 등 각종의 지원이 향후 협상에서 결정되는 특정연도에는 완전폐지를 해야 하는 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 농산물에 대한 수출물류비 지원이 수출에 미치는 효과를 분석하고, WTO/DDA 농업협상 결과 예상되는 수출물류비 감축이나 철폐에 대비하기 위한 농산물 수출물류활동의 활성화 방안과 과제에 대하여 연구해보고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish the policy for the abroad promotion of small-medium and venture businesses. The core strategy is enhancing the total sales trough the low management cost and low advertisement cost. The Partnership Management by the Export Cooperation Organisation is a model which is maximize the outputs and profits at the same time minimize the fixed costs, advertisement costs etc. The effect of synergy from the grand exhibition and partnership management will be a critical momentum to the national business that concrete and diversify the export.

고려인삼 수출과정에서의 장애요소 분석 - 중국, 홍콩, 대만에 대한 고려인삼 수출을 중심으로 (Analysis of Obstacles in the Export Process of Korean Ginseng)

  • 본 연구는 인삼 시장에 대한 분석을 통해 고려인삼 수출의 문제점을 파악하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 동북아시아의 주요 인삼 생산국인 한국과 중국의 인삼 경작면적, 수확 면적, 생산량 등의 인삼 생산 현황에 대해 파악하였고 한국의 경우 인삼의 평균 가격, 경영비용, 생산비용 등을 별도로 정리함으로써 생산 측면의 고려인삼의 생산 경쟁력을 보여주고자 하였다. 이어 주요 인삼수출국으로서의 한국, 중국, 홍콩의 수출량, 수출액, 수출단가와 같은 수출 동향과 주요 수출 품목 및 관세율 등의 수출 데이터를 정리하여 고려인삼의 수출 경쟁력을 보여주고자 하였다. 이에 덧붙여 중국, 홍콩, 대만의 인삼 소비 현황을 다양한 사례와 사건을 통해 보여줌으로써 수출국 현지의 소비 형태를 파악하고자 하였다. 생산, 수출, 소비 등에 대한 정보를 미루어봤을 때, 본 연구는 고려인삼의 수출 과정의 장애 요소를 수출시장의 경기침체, 취약한 고려인삼의 가격 경쟁력, 중국 삼과 서양 삼 등 경쟁제품의 시장점유율 증가, 홍보와 판촉의 부족, 다양한 인삼 제품의 개발과 수출의 부족 등으로 도출했다. 동시에 이를 극복하기 위한 방법으로 수출 다각화, 효과적인 생산 시스템 구축, 품질 및 브랜드 강화, 홍보와 마케팅 강화, 다양한 제품 개발 등의 전략을 제안한다.

  • This study shed light on the status of Korean Kimchi industry in overseas markets and presented methods for promoting Kimchi industry of Gwangju Jeonnam metropolitan city and stimulating the export of Kimchi produced in Gwangju Jeonnam, a city that has come to the fore as the center of Kimchi industry, which aimed to explore the ways of ratcheting up competitiveness of Kimchi industry in the global market as Kimchi has become more likely to be globalized amid the recent "Korea Trend" boom and the growing consumption of fermented food. Therefore, methods for promoting Kimchi industry and stimulating the export of Kimchi should be explored to ensure the promotion of Kimchi industry and the stimulation of the export of Kimchi, ultimately restoring the status of Korea as the home of Kimchi, in consideration of the great spillover effect on the regional economy, through a series of measures such as the clusterization of Kimchi industry, expansion of cultural experience projects related to Kimchi for the globalization and the increased consumption of Kimchi, government support to increase Kimchi companies in size and achieve the modernization of Kimchi companies, introduction of Kimchi KS audit system and quality certification system, development of new product targeting global market and making Kimchi a high-end product, expansion of export, support of export market diversification, assurance of safety and price competitiveness of Kimchi, differentiated production and marketing strategy by means of technological research, and others.

중소기업 수출지원제도 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measures for Export Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprise in Korea)

  • These days, Korean government has been expanding Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with major countries. Expansion of FTA, which means opening up the markets, can be the opportunity to develop for those enterprises with global competency; however, it surely brings disadvantages to such small and medium enterprises which function as an outsourcing and a subcontracted to large enterprises. For Korean economy to overcome the national income of US$20,000 and to jump up to the level of advanced countries, it is imperative to perceive a limit to the large enterprises only. Not only the leading efforts of small and medium enterprises to double the exports, but also realizing the policy reform for the consistent and intimate policy between the government and companies have to be proceeded. Therefore, primarily in this study, first, it includes the overview of the change in trade-environment in an era of FTA, governmental system and policy to support export for the small and medium enterprises; secondly, examination of the export capacity and some problematic factors in export for small and medium enterprises. Ultimately, it is suggested both reinforcement for global competency of the small and medium enterprises and an alternative policy for the support system in the time expecting export expansion.
