  • The problem considered is the buckling of a rectangular orthotropic plate, tapered in thickness in a direction parallel to two sides and compressed in that direction. Curves are presented showing the variation of buckling stress coefficient with the special loads. The type of thickness variation is exponential. While this paper is presented how to design for an efficient orthotropic plate taper from physical consideration.

Change-Point Estimation and Bootstrap Confidence Regions in Weibull Distribution

  • We considered a change-point hazard rate model generalizing constant hazard rate model. This type of model is very popular in the sense that the Weibull and exponential distributions formulating survival time data are the special cases of it. Maximum likelihood estimation and the asymptotic properties such as the consistency and its limiting distribution of the change-point estimator were discussed. A parametric bootstrap method for finding confidence intervals of the unknown change-point was also suggested and the proposed method is explained through a practical example.

  • This paper discusses the lateral vibration of a bar which has its tip free. The uniform bar has a solution by summation of some simple exponential functions But if its shape is not uniform, its solution could be by Bessel's function, or mathematical solution could not be existed. Enen if the solution of Bessel's function exists. as Bessel function is a series function. we must got the solution by numerical method Hereby the author Proposes the ununiform beam solution of the matrix method by Ritz's method. and Proposes a new deflection shape function.

  • In this paper, optimal change times are determined for fully three-step stress accelerated life tests, which minimize the asymptotic variance for maximum likelihood estimator of logarithm of the failure rate at the usual condition and exponential distribution is given for life time data.

  • We will prove size estimates of the Bergman kernel for the generalized Fock space ${\mathcal{F}}^2_{\varphi}$, where ${\varphi}$ belongs to the class $\mathcal{W} $. The main tool for the proof is to use the estimate on the canonical solution to the ${\bar{\partial}}$-equation. We use Delin's weighted $L^2$-estimate ([3], [6]) for it.

  • In a bounded domain, we consider $$u_{tt}-{\Delta}u+{\normalsize\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_0}^t}\;g(t-{\tau}){\Delta}ud{\tau}+u_t={\mid}u{\mid}^pu$$, where p > 0 and g is a nonnegative and decaying function. We establish a general decay result which is not necessarily of exponential or polynomial type.

  • We fabricate a bottom gate a-Si:H TFT on N-Type <100> Si wafer. According to the Variation of gate and drain voltage, the hysteresis characteristic curves were measured experimentally. Also, we proposed model equation and showed that the model predict the hysteresis characteristic successfully. Drain current on the hysteresis characteristic curve showed an exponential variation. Hysteresis area of TFT increased with the drain voltage increase and decreases with the drain voltage decrease.

  • In this paper, we consider the Sparre Andersen risk model modified by the inclusion of interest on the surplus. By using the techniques of Cai and Dickson [Ins.: Math. Econ. 32(2003)], we give the functional and also the exponential type upper bounds for the tail probability of the deficit at ruin. Some special cases are also discussed.

  • This paper presents accelerated life tests for Type I censoring data under probabilistic stresses. Probabilistic stress, $S_j$, is the random variable for stress influenced by test environments, test equipments, sampling devices and use conditions. The hazard rate, ,$theta_j$, is the random variable of environments and the function of probabilistic stress. Also it is assumed that the general stress distribution is uniform, the life distribution for the given hazard rate, $\theta$, is exponential and inverse power law model holds. In this paper, we obtained maximum likelihood estimators of model parameters and the mean life in use stress condition.
