  • This study was conducted to analyze the effects of parenting programs for children with disabilities through meta-regression analysis of experimental studies published in Korea. Twenty-two studies with a randomized or non-randomized control group prepost test design were included in the analysis. Parenting programs had a significant effect on parenting stress (ES= -1.08, p <.001, $I^2=67.4%$), parenting ecacy (ES=0.72, p <.001, $I^2=58.0%$) and self-esteem (ES=0.58, p =.016, $I^2=0$). The meta-regression analysis showed that research designs and therapy providers had different effects on dependent variables. Results support that parenting programs are helpful for parents of children with disabilities in reducing parenting stress and improving parenting efficacy, and self-esteem.

  • Clock selection has a significant impact on the performance and quality of designs in high-level synthesis. Almost systems require that the clock length is required prior to scheduling, the best value of the clock can be found only after evaluating different schedules. In this study, we presents a scheduling method that works simultaneously with synthesis by selecting a clock from a chainable operation set. Our scheduling algorithm is based on list scheduling and executes chaining considering bit level delays based on selected clock period. Experimental results show that our method improves the performance by 18 percent.

  • This paper discusses the characteristics about the ignition of D.C. main discharge is a plasma jet generator, manufactured for trial as non-transferred type, when the electrical energy appropriate to the ignition is supplied to the gap between the electrodes by using advance discharge of attenuating high frequency voltage generated by a high frequency oscillator with mercury spark gap. These characteristics are under the influences of (a) the length of mercury gap in high frequency oscillator and the quantity of hydrogen flow supplied to it, (b) the condenser capacity of the high frequency oscillator circuit, (c) the length of plasma jet torch in D.C. main discharge circuit and the quantity of argon flow supplied to it, (d) the circuit constants of D.C. main discharge circuit. The results for these characteristics, obtained by this research, are considered to be helpful to the designs for the ignition of a plasma jet as well as the welding arc stabilizer by high frequency discharge and the high frequency arc welder.

  • This study presents the design of an 18 kW two-phase interleaved buck converter that uses a coupled inductor for an electric vehicle rapid charger. The designs of a two-phase coupled inductor for current ripple and physical size reduction and a two-phase interleaved buck converter based on silicon carbide metal - oxide - semiconductor field-effect transistor for high efficiency were described in detail. The operating principle of the two-phase interleaved buck converter was analyzed, and the coupled inductor was investigated using a magnetized equivalent circuit. Simulation and experiments were conducted to verify the validity of the proposed two-phase interleaved buck converter, and the theoretical design method and experimental results were confirmed.

  • This study experimentally evaluated the seismic performance of steel knee braced frame structures with energy dissipation mechanism. A series of cyclic load tests were conducted on the steel moment resisting frames and the proposed knee braced frames. Test results validated that the demand in the beam-to-column connection designs was alleviated by the proposed design method. Test results also showed that the strength and stiffness of the proposed design were effectively enhanced. Comparisons in energy dissipation between the steel moment resisting frames and the steel knee braced frames further justified the applicability of the proposed method.

  • Direct displacement-based design (DDBD) represents an innovative philosophy for seismic design of structures. When structural considerations are more critical, DDBD design should be carried on the basis of limiting material strains since structural damage is always strain related. In this case, the outcome of DDBD is strongly influenced by the displacement demand of the structural element for the target limit strains. Experimental studies have shown that anchorage slip may contribute significantly to the total displacement capacity of R/C column elements. However, in the previous studies, anchorage slip effect is either ignored or lumped into flexural deformations by applying the equivalent strain penetration length. In the light of the above, an attempt is made in this paper to include explicitly anchorage slip effect in DDBD of R/C column elements. For this purpose, a new computer program named RCCOLA-DBD is developed for the DDBD of single R/C elements for limiting material strains. By applying this program, more than 300 parametric designs are conducted to investigate the influence of anchorage slip effect as well as of numerous other parameters on the seismic design of R/C members according to this methodology.

  • When visual intrusion Is an Important factor, it is desirable to find alternative methods of Improving the insertion loss of a noise barrier without Increasing the height. Therefore, the primary object of the work attenuate the noise due to railway by small interference device installed at noise barrier edge. In this paper the performance of noise barriers with attached interference device, in terms of shape, absorptive material and split panel, we examined using the boundary element approach. Also, the scale models are mounted in an anechoic chamber and the frequency of the sound sources are appropriately scaled to simulate full scale site conditions. Lastly, experimental measurements of the designs are executed for a range of frequencies and receiver positions, and are compared with the results of numerical modeling.

  • This paper presents a new SOC test compression scheme in Embedded Deterministic Test (EDT) compression environment. Compressed test data is brought over the TAM from the tester to the cores in SOC and decompressed in the cores. The proposed scheme allows cores tested at the same time to share some test channels. By sharing free variables in these channels across test cubes of different cores decompressed at the same time, high encoding efficiency is achieved. Moreover, no excess control data is required in this scheme. The ability to reuse excess free variables eliminates the need for high precision in matching the number of test channels with the number of care bits for every core. Experimental results obtained for some SOC designs illustrate effectiveness of the proposed test application scheme.

  • The objective of the research is to design, manufacture and test a Mass Flow Controller(MFC) capable of measuring compressible fluid flows based on a "bucket and stop-watch"method. The basic principle is the measurement of time, where the time taken to fill and empty a bucket of known volume is measured. This method of flow measurement is a new concept when compared to a commercilized current mass flow controller. For the flow meter to be able to compete with established designs it not only must be comparable in cost and robustness, it must be very accurate and reliable as well. This device should be able to handle fluid flows in the range of 0.1ml/min to 10ml/min within an accuracy of ${\pm}$1%. A possible application for a device such as this is in electronics industry where arsenic gas is used in the production of silicon chips.

  • This study suggests experimental designs for interior products utilizing LEDs that are ideal for expressing diversity of light. It also attempts to develop various products by incorporating economic efficiency and diverse colors of LEDs into interior elements. LED door handles offer a range of 6-color LED lighting strips as a safety lighting system, while multi-function furniture (CUBE-scape) consists of LEDs with double-sided emitted lighting on completely transparent track structures. Both products are designed to make interior elements more user-friendly as they make most use of unique effects of LED such as light vibration and changes. Also the combination of plastic material-Technogel$^{\circledR}$, polypropylene, polycarbonate- maximize the LED lighting effect and diversify the designed item selection.
