안면부 여과식 방진 마스크와 안경 동시 착용 시 상호 영향 (The Effects of Interrelationship after Wearing between Respirators and Glasses Simultaneously)

  • This study compares the interrelation of fit factor(FF) and visual acuity test by the order of wearing preference between Particulate filtering face piece respirators(PFFR) and glasses for 54 participants. Glasses fitting factors is Optical Center Height(OH), Vertex Distance(VD) and Pantoscopic Angle(PA) or Visual acuity. We measured those factors and expressed by the ratio of standard point and change point. Quantitative fit factor was measured by Portacount Pro+ 8038 and compared the result of preference of wearing order between respirators and glasses. Also, we selected to 6 exercises among 8 exercises OSHA QNFT (Quantitative Fit testing) protocol to measure the fit factors. The pass/ fail criterion of FF was set at 100. Visual acuity test chart is developed by Chunsuk Han was used, Descriptive statistics was performed. Descriptive statistics(SAS ver 9.2), it is used geometric means, Wilcoxon analysis, peason correlation(P=0.05) Fit factor was increased when the respirator was worn before wearing the glasses(p=0.000) and decreased for visual acuity(p=0.000) The negative correlation was showed between OH and Overall fit factor(r=-0.409, p=0.002). Among 54 participants, 11 participants(20.3%) were worn respirator before wearing glasses and 1 participant(1.9%) was worn glasses before wearing respirator. The overall fit test showed the higher level was investigated for the group of participants wearing respirator before wearing glasses in 6 exercises. Also, overall fit factor were increased when participants wore glasses prior to respirator(16.6) to respirator prior to glasses(36.6). Visual acuity were increased when participants wore respirator prior to glasses(93.8) to glasses prior to respirator(106.0). Finally, comparison result of overall fit factor and visual acuity were glasses first choice from mask first choice. The results showed that higher overall fit factor was investigate when the participants wore the respirator prior to glassess at all. The results implied that it is important to maintain the overall fit factor and visual acuity according to the consideration of OH for glasses fitting when worker wore respirator and glasses at the same time.

엉덩관절모음과 플랭크운동이 보행에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Hip Joint Adduction on Walking During the Plank Exercise)

  • 본 연구는 건강한 20대 남자 대학생 30명을 대상으로 플랭크운동과 탄력밴드에 의한 엉덩관절모음운동이 보행에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 연구방법은 플랭크운동집단 10명, 양쪽 엉덩관절모음-플랭크운동군 10명, 한쪽 엉덩관절모음-플랭크운동군 10명을 30분씩, 주 3회, 총 6주로 진행하였다. 그 결과 분속수의 변화와 왼쪽다리의 한걸음길이, 오른쪽다리의 한걸음길이, 오른쪽 다리의 한걸음시간이 시기와 집단 간 상호작용에서 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 본 연구의 결론은 양쪽 엉덩관절의 모음에 대한 저항 운동이 일반적 플랭크운동과 한쪽 엉덩관절 모음보다 몸통의 자세불안정성을 더욱 증가시켜 보행 능력을 향상시키는 것으로 차후의 자세불안정성을 증대하는 다양한 운동프로그램 개발이 보행능력의 향상에 도움이 될 것으로 기대해본다.

안경착용자 방진마스크 착용 시 밀착계수와 착용시력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Fit Factor and Visual Acuity of Eyeglasses Wearers when Wearing Particulate Filtering Facepiece Respirators)

We the precautions and behaviors of discomfort when wearing masks of eyewear wearers. Descriptive statistics(SAS ver 9.2), it is used geometric means, Wilcoxon analysis(P=0.05) When wearing the mask preferentially, fit factor(FF) was high according to the step of glasses fitting parameter. on the other hand, when the glasses first choice, the visual acuity(VA) was high. there was no significant difference. In the case of fit factor (FF), mask first choice/ glasses first choice is OH (p=0.671/ p=0.332), VD (p=0.602/ p=0.571) and PA (p=0.549/ p=0.607). Visual acuity (VA), mask first choice/ glasses first choice is OH (p=0.753/ p=0.386), VD (p=0.815/ p=0.557) and PA (p=0.856/ p=0.562). The workers of workplace and office chose glasses but occupational health workers and students chose mask. In case of discomforts, it was suggested to remove the mask and tolerate discomforts. The main discomforts and usual action of lens were dryness, hyperemia, foreign body sensation, ophthalmodynia, decreased vision and glasses wearing. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a mask wearing method education program considering glasses fitting and develop a hybrid model that minimizes inconvenience when wearing glasses and a mask at the same time.

시각장애 비만대상자를 위한 동기강화 비만관리프로그램의 개발 및 효과평가 (The Development and Evaluation of a Motivation-Strengthening Obesity Management Program for Obese Subjects with Visual Impairment)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a motivation-strengthening obesity management program for obese subjects with visual impairment and evaluate its effects. Methods: The program development and evaluation periods were from March to August 2018. The study design was an experimental study of non-equality, control repeat design. 25 subjects in the experimental group participated in the 12-week obesity management program and the 26 people in the control group did not. Results: The motivation-strengthening obesity management program included stretching exercises for 30 minutes in the morning five times a week. In addition, counseling, education, and group discussions were continued once a week for motivational strengthening. Special custom exercises for blind patients were also completed once a week simultaneously. Both of these activities were continued for 50 minutes a week for a total of 12 weeks. Measurements were recorded periodically to identify the sustained effects of the program. The obese subjects with visual impairment improved their knowledge of obesity, perceived disability, self-efficacy of exercise, and quality of life related to obesity through the motivational obesity management program. Waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and fasting blood sugar were also improved in obese subjects. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that this program could be an active intervention for the control of weight gain in participants with visual impairment. Therefore, the motivation-strengthening program based on the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation& Evaluation) model could be an effective strategy for better health outcomes of obese subjects with visual impairment.

하지 저항운동을 통한 여성고령자 보행 시 하지관절 및 분절의 운동학적 차이 (Kinematic Difference between the Lower Limb Joints and the Lower Extremities Given Elderly Women's Walking through the Lower-limb Resistance Exercises)

  • 본 연구는 하지 저항운동 시 고령자 보행의 하지분절과 관절의 운동학적 차이를 분석하여 낙상예방을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위해 70대 이상 80세 이하의 여성 고령자 7명을 선정하여 3차원 영상분석을 실시하였다. 하지 분절과 관절의 3차원 위치좌표를 얻기 위해 ProReflex MCU(Qualisys, Sweden) 카메라를 사용하여, 100Hz/s로 촬영하였다. 촬영된 영상은 QTM(Qualisys, Sweden) 프로그램을 이용하여 위치좌표에 대한 원자료(raw data)를 얻었으며, Matlab 6.5 프로그램을 이용하여 3차원 각도를 산출한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 대퇴와 하퇴분절의 굴곡과 신전은 E5에서 운동 후 굴곡의 움직임이 크게 나타났으며, 발 분절은 E4에서 외번을 보이면서 통계적 차이를 나타냈다. 무릎관절은 운동 후 E4에서 굴곡을 보였고, 발목관절은 E3에서 내번, E4에서 외번의 움직임을 나타내면서 통계적인 차이(p<.05)를 보였다.

경직성 양하지 마비아의 5가지 치료적 운동시 핵심 안정성과 관련된 근활동 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis of Muscles Activation relate to Core Stability during 5 Therapeutic Exercise in Children with Spastic Diplegia)

  • PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate muscles activation relate to core stability during 5 therapeutic exercise in children with spastic diplegia. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 8 children with typical development and 12 children with spastic diplegia who have been treated in Bobath children's hospital, all of whom agreed to participate in the study. All subjects were measured to see their muscles activation of rectus abdominalis, external oblique abdominalis, elector spinae, gluteus maximus, rectus femoris, and semitendinosus with surface EMG. RESULTS: The results of this study were as follows : 1) There were statistically significant difference in the root mean square(RMS) of all muscles according to 5 therapeutic exercise in children with spastic diplegia. 2) There were statistically significant difference in the RMS of all muscles according to 5 therapeutic exercise in children with typical development. 3) Significant differences of the RMS between diplegic children and normal children were found in elector spinae and rectus femoris only curl-up exercise. CONCLUSION: As the above results, we suggest that 5 therapeutic exercises could be used for a core stability or core strengthening program. Depending on the individual needs of children with cerebral palsy, some of exercises may be more beneficial than others for achieving strength.

어깨뼈 내밈 운동 시 운동 자세와 어깨관절 굽힘각도에 따른 앞 톱니근과 위 등세모근의 근 활성도 비의 비교 (The Comparison of Electromyographic Ratio of Serratus Anterior and Upper Trapezius According to Exercise Position and Shoulder Flexion Angle during Scapular Protraction Exercises)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the activities of the serratus anterior (SA) and upper trapezius (UT) muscles during scapular protraction exercise with a dumbbell. Twenty-one healthy subjects with no medial history of shoulder pain or upper extremity disorders were recruited for this study. Subjects performed scapular protraction at $90^{\circ}$ and $130^{\circ}$ shoulder flexion with a dumbbell in supine and standing positions. The activities of the SA and UT were measured via surface electromyography (EMG) during 4 scapular protraction exercises. A 2 (angle) ${\times}$ 2 (position) repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare the normalized activities of the SA and UT and the UT/SA ratio. The results showed that activities of both the SA and UT were the highest for the scapular protraction exercise at $130^{\circ}$ shoulder flexion in the standing position. However, the UT/SA ratio was the lowest for the exercise at $90^{\circ}$ shoulder flexion in supine position. Therefore, for selective activation of the SA muscle, we recommend performing the scapular protraction exercise with a dumbbell in the supine position at $90^{\circ}$ shoulder flexion.

남자대학생의 의복 착용상황별 추구이미지와 패션상품통일체 (The Desired Self-Images and the Fashion Product Unities of Male College Students according to Situation)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the desired seIf-images of male college students according to situations, and to construct fashion product unities bought by male college students for different situations. Empirical data were collected by self-administered questionnaires distributed to male students at 4 universities and 2 colleges in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area during June 2005, and 346 were analyzed, eliminating incomplete ones. Subjects were required to respond to 32 desired image words in 4 different situations respectively: school, meeting girlfriends, ceremonies, and exercises. As a result of factor analysis on desired self-image words, 5 factors were determined: refined image, sporty image, classic image, natural image and simple image. Based on the desired self-image factors, male college students were classified into 3 groups: selective image management group, passive image management group, and active Image management group. Fashion product unity of male college students for the school setting was consisted of round shirts, jeans, running shoes, bags and watches. Aloha shirts/knitted shirts/V-neck shirts, cotton pants/jeans/semi -formal pants, formal shoes/running shoes and watches were the fashion product unity for the setting of meeting girlfriends. For the setting of ceremonies, the fashion product unity included Y-shirts, formal dress, formal shoes, neckties and watches. And for the setting of exercises, the fashion product unity included cotton shirts, training suits, running shoes/jogging shoes/basketball shoes, armguard and caps.

Electromyographic Analysis of Thoracic and Lumbar Erector Spinae Activity Using the Abdominal Drawing-in Maneuver and Chin Tuck During Prone Thoracic Extension Exercises

  • This present study investigated the effects of the abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) and chin tuck (CT) on middle thoracic erector spinae, lower thoracic erector spinae, and lumbar erector spinae muscle activity during three prone thoracic extension (PTE) exercises. Twelve healthy subjects performed preferred PTE, ADIM PTE, and ADIM-CT PTE. Surface electromyography was used to collect data on the muscle activity of dominant middle and lower thoracic erector spinae muscles and the lumbar erector spinae. Middle and lower thoracic erector spinae muscle activity significantly increased when ADIM and CT was performed (p<.05). However, lumbar erector spinae muscle activity significantly decreased in ADIM PTE compared to preferred PTE (p=.017) and significantly increased in ADIM-CT PTE compared to ADIM PTE (p=.004). In conclusion, ADIM-CT PTE effectively increased middle and lower thoracic erector spinae muscle activity, and ADIM PTE decreased lumbar erector spinae muscle activity. Hence, ADIM PTE could be a recommended exercise maneuver to strengthen thoracic erector spinae without over activation of lumbar erector spinae.

Comparison of the Electromyographic Changes in the Vastus Medialis Oblique and Vastus Lateralis Muscles According to the Knee Joint Angle During Squat Exercise Using a Gym Ball

  • Background: Squatting is one of the best functional exercises to strengthen the quadriceps muscle in independent gait and activities of daily living. Although the use of a gym ball during squat exercise is the most common way of strengthening the vastus medialis oblique (VMO) muscle, published data on this subject are limited. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare the sequential muscle activation of the VMO and vastus lateralis (VL) muscles during squat exercise using a gym ball at different knee flexion angles. Methods: Forty healthy adults were randomly divided into experimental (squat exercise using a gym ball) and control (squat exercise alone) groups, in which squats were performed at $45^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ knee flexion. Electromyographic (EMG) activity data were collected over 10 seconds under the 2 angles of knee flexion ($45^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$). Results: There was significant group and time interaction effect for VMO and VL muscle activation at $45^{\circ}$ knee flexion. This was similarly demonstrated at $90^{\circ}$ knee flexion. No significant group main effect and time main effect for VMO and VL muscle activation were noted at $45^{\circ}$ knee flexion, respectively. In contrast, there was significant group main effect and time main effect for VMO and VL muscle activation at $90^{\circ}$ knee flexion. These significant differences were demonstrated through two-way analysis of variance over repeated measurements, suggesting that the EMG activity of the VMO muscle during squatting with a gym ball showed remarkable improvement compared to that of the VL muscle. Conclusion: This research suggests that squat exercise using a gym ball may be more beneficial in improving the activity of VMO than of the VL muscle at both $45^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ of knee flexion, respectively. We highly recommend squat exercises with a gym ball for selective strengthening of the VMO muscle in knee rehabilitation.
