  • In this paper, ED-H algorithm, an optimal real-time scheduling algorithm dealing with the characteristics of the integrated energy harvester system with a capacitor, is extended to satisfy the time constraint under the blackout state which is a deliberate power-off state by an intelligent power management unit adopted in the system. If the power supply system does not have enough energy, it temporarily shuts off the power supply to protect the circuit and capacitor and resumes the supply again when the capacitor is fully charged, which may delay the task execution during these blackout states by calculating the time according to the occurrence of the events. To mitigate the problem, even if task execution is delayed by the original ED-H algorithm, the remaining time of the subsequent time units no longer can afford to delay the execution of the task is predicted in the extended algorithm and the task is forced to be scheduled to meet the time deadline. According to the simulation results, it is confirmed that the algorithm proposed in this paper has a high scheduling performance increase of 0.4% to 7.7% depending on the characteristics of the set of tasks compared to the ED-H.

  • This study approaches the children's talent show performed at child care centers from the perspective of critical pedagogy in order to investigate its social, economic, and political context. Two child care centers where children's talent show are opened annually were selected as a sample. A qualitative study was conducted by collecting data from participant observation and interviews with the children, teacher, parents, and principles at the selected centers. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. The children's talent show played a role as a business tool for managing the child care center in terms of such functions as recruitment of new children and promotion of the institute, rather than simply being the result of demand from the children and parents. Consequently, the children and parents appear to be passive participants in the talent show by partially accepting the positive views thus generated without expressing disagreement with these views. This study suggest the need for a general debate regarding the planning and execution of events at child care centers.

  • The purpose of this study was to review of mechanism and application methodology about mental practice. The mental practice is symbolic rehearsal of physical activity in the absence of any gross muscular movements. Human have the ability to generate mental correlates of perceptual and motor events without any triggering external stimulus, a function known as imagery, Practice produces both internal and external sensory consequences which are thought to be essential for learning to occur, It is for this reason that mental practice, rehearsal of skill in imagination rather than by overt physical activity, has intrigued theorists, especially those interested in cognitive process. Several studies in sport psychology have shown that mental practice can be effective in optimizing the execution of movements in athletes and help novice learner in the incremental acquisition of new skilled behaviors. There are many theories of mental practice for explaining the positive effect In skill learning and performance. Most tenable theories are symbolic learning theory, psyconeuromuscular theory, Paivio's theory, regional cerebral blood flow theory, motivation theory, modeling theory, mental and muscle movement nodes theory, insight theory, selective attention theory, and attention-arousal set theory etc.. The factors for influencing to effects of mental practice are application form, application period, time for length of the mental practice, number of repetition, existence of physical practice.

  • In these days, Korea Railway apply simple catenary system to general lines and high speed lines of Korea Electric Railway. Circulation Current in catenary system frequently bring undesirable consequences. Namely, the Connector wire has many problems according to a flow of excessive circulation (or traction current) and a sudden rise of temperature on catenary when electric car or locomotive is running in high speed. The occurrence of events by the load increasement do considerable damages to peoples, organizations and systems. In this paper, we proposed the improved changes on the catenary system of a improvement and change of a messenger wire protector, improvement of connector wire,s institution angle and of a replacement the connector wire with a dropper. A case of Circulation Current continually has broken out in Yongdungpo Electric Office's own bailiwick. By or through the medium of these obstacles, we have further use of many studies and considering countermeasures. Therefore, we have to deal with the question in design and execution of catenary system for High Speed Railway because we will spend a lot of time and more money for maintenance than for construction of that.

  • Because of the intrinsic lack of internal-system observability and controllability in highly integrated multicore processors, very restricted access is allowed for the debugging of erroneous chip behavior. Therefore, the building of an efficient debug function is an important consideration in the design of multicore processors. In this paper, we propose a flexible on-chip debug architecture that embeds a special logic supporting the debug functionality in the multicore processor. It is designed to support run-stop-type debug functions that can halt and control the execution of the multicore processor at breakpoint events and inspect the possible causes of any errors. The debug architecture consists of the following three functional components: the core debug support block, the multicore debug support block, and the debug interface and control block. By embedding this debug infrastructure, the embedded processor cores within the multicore processor can be debugged simultaneously as well as independently. The debug control is performed by employing a JTAG-based scanning operation. We apply this on-chip debug architecture to build a debugger for a prototype multicore processor and demonstrate the validity and scalability of our approach.

  • In this paper, an implementation of concurrent backoff delay process on a single chip with IEEE 802.15.4 hardware and 8051 processor core that can be used for analyzing the interference on IEEE 802.15.4 channels due to WiFi traffics is studied. The backoff delay process of IEEE 802.15.4 CSMA-CA algorithm is explained. The characteristics of random number generator, timer, and CCA register included in the single chip are described with their control procedure in order to implement the process. A concurrent backoff delay process to evaluate multiple IEEE 802.15.4 channels is proposed, and a method to service the associated tasks at sequentially ordered backoff delay events occurring on the channels is explained. For the implementation of the concurrent backoff delay process on a single chip IEEE 802.15.4 hardware, the elements for the single channel backoff delay process and their control procedure are used to be extended to multiple channels with little modification. The medium access delay on each channel, which is available after execution of the concurrent backoff delay process, is displayed on the LCD of an IEEE 802.15.4 channel analyzer. The experimental results show that we can easily identify the interference on IEEE 802.15.4 channels caused by WiFi traffics in comparison with the way displaying measured channel powers.

  • Digital contents services are one of the topics that have been intensively studied in the media industry, where various semantic and ontology techniques are applied. However, query execution for ontology data is still inefficient, lack of sufficient extensible definitions for node relationships, and there is no specific semantic method fit for media data representation. In order to make the machine understand digital contents (DCs) data well, we analyze DCs data, including static data and dynamic data, and use ontology to specify and classify objects and the events of the particular objects. Then the formal representation method is proposed which not only redefines DCs data based on the technology of OWL/RDF, but is also combined with media segmentation methods. At the same time, to speed up the access mechanism of DCs data stored under the persistent database, an ontology-based DCs query solution is proposed, which uses the specified distance vector associated to a surveillance of semantic label (annotation) to detect and track a moving or static object.

  • J2ME mobile programs have been widely used as mobile devices like mobile phones become popular. Efficient use of resources in mobile programs is very important because mobile programs are executed in mobile environment with insufficient resources. Moreover, most J2ME programs are event-driven, so effective event handling is important for reliability and efficient use of resource. In this research, we develop a dynamic event analysis system, which can show event handling in real-time. In this system, users can trace only interesting events by selecting some options, and can get event profile after execution.

  • A symptom-based procedure with a critical safety function monitoring system has been established to reduce the operator's diagnosis and cognitive burden since the Three-Mile Island (TMI) accident. However, it has been reported that a symptom-based procedure also requires an operator's cognitive efforts to cope with off-normal events. This can be caused by mismatches between a static model, an emergency operating procedure (EOP), and a dynamic process, the nature of an ongoing situation. The purpose of this study is to share the evidence of mismatches that may result in an excessive cognitive burden in conducting EOPs. For this purpose, we analyzed simulated emergency operation records and observed some operator behaviors during the EOP operation: continuous steps, improper description, parameter check at a fixed time, decision by information previously obtained, execution complexity, operation by the operator's knowledge, notes and cautions, and a foldout page. Since observations in this study are comparable to the results of an existing study, it is expected that the operational behaviors observed in this study are generic features of operators who have to cope with a dynamic situation using a static procedure.
