The present paper provides a method for solving a complementary programming problem with quadratic objective function subject to linear constraints. The procedure developed is based on the simplex method for quadratic programming problem. An example is added to illustrate the procedure.

Conventional active control algorithm for duct system is developed without considering problems of constrained structure. Therefore it destroys the constrained structures of the weights or parameters. A new LMS algorithm, which does keep the constraints, is proposed for systems with known constrained structure. It is based on error-back propagation. The stability analysis and simulation example are also included.

Measures of leverage in nonlinear regression models are discussed by extending the leverage in linear regression models. The connection between measures of leverage and nonlinearity of the models are explored. Illustrative example based on real data is presented.

We consider geometrical conditions of liquid crystals of bent-shape molecules that result in optically isotropic antiferroelectric structure that can be reversibly switched to birefringent states. An example of an ester based banana-shape substance is discussed that almost fulfills the ideal conditions and provides fast electro-optical switching with or without crossed polarizers.

The purpose of this study is to provide a System Description Algorithm based on the need to describe the system more systematically than the System Dynamics does. The algorithm, which comprises 14 steps, is described in detail and demonstrated through an example of the dynamic market networks.
